I think the party was well aware how bad Biden was too, and manipulated for an early debate to force the issue before it was too late. You can't blame Biden to keep doubling down on what has worked so far. Biden has been gaffing mindless gibberish all along and nothing came of it. The simple difference is the senial gaffing and gibberish went on for over an hour straight instead of the short clips that media ignored, disappeared and denied. Big Tech suppressed this too. Biden is done and no longer matters, he just does not know it yet.
