the lav mic brings out more of the inflection and personality of your voice while the dji mic alone sounds a bit dark and makes you sound less enthusiastic.

I fell the same!

The lav mic sounded crisp and clear with the DJI mic 2. I’m tempted to get that combo as well now.

Hi Zander, can you tell me if there has been an update with DJI software to accomodate TWO mics via Bluetooth.? Was told in my local DJI store today it has been updated. I'd rather use mics via Bluetooth than have a receiver plugged in. Thanks.

If i buy a 3,5 mm jack to usb-c, can i use the dji lav with my iphone 15 pro or with my action 4 ? ( without pluging it in the dji mic 2 )

I can confim that the DJI lav mic sounds so good with the Mic 2. For comparison, I tried it with the Rode Lav Go and the DJI lav sounds crispier. I know I can always tweak the audio in post, but so far I'm liking what I hear. It's a great combo for sure!

Might be a dumb question, but these dji mic senders record mono, don't they? I'd like em to be stereo ... and me being able to record the lav mic and the internal mic simultaneously (one to the left, one to the right track) in 32 Bit, e. g. speaking into the lav, while capturing engine and exhaust from behind.

question: if you don’t have the receiver, can 32 bit float be turned on from the camera, action 4 and pocket 3? cause the mic records internally only 24 bit until 32 bit float is turned on via the dji receiver itself. I made a video on my channel about the other problem, no internal recording when connected via bluetooth to iPhone (also the iphone native app doesn’t pick up sound from the mic at all, gotta use 3rd party app) and thw audio in bluetooth on phone is pretty sub par, did you test any of that?

@@ZanderRound sorry mate…only just tried this. I couldn’t hear playback from the file recorded on my ride lag mic via the DJI mic 2 (the file appears in finder but nothing plays). I checked the same lav mic via my phone and all is well with the actual microphone. Any ideas? No worries at all if you’re biz

If it was translucent, it would be very glossy (mic 1 was better as it didn't "shine" as much), and also the interior is most likely going to be black and gray (they won't make all of that white as well).

Why no white lav mic?

The lav mic picked up more of the midrange and higher end of your voice making it sound more clear. Rather than get the DJI lav mic I was thinking of getting the Sennheiser MKE 2 lav mic (about the same price as the whole DJI Mic 2 kit) for the better audio quality.

Can the MKE 2 also be connected to the dji mic 2 for a semi wireless solution?

Can’t do clear on the white because most likely, everything on the internal kids black. So, it’s pointless. You know what I mean? I’m also interested in the lav mic because of the twisting mechanism. But, the audio cuts some of the high end out, so it sounds less crisp to me. Are you hearing that too?

I'm hearing a better sounding mic, also consider that he not only used 32 bit float, and did some post editing, but also when he spoke into the transmitter he was holding it directly in the line of sight to his voice, where as with the lav, it was clipped onto him at a different angle.

I picked up a lav for the mic 2. It doesn’t seem to work I notice the lav has a TRRS those it matter?

I love the DJI Mic and I’m all prepared to buy the mic 2, but I know exactly what’s going to happen to me……I want them to come out with a matte black…as soon as I buy it….they are going to announce a matte black version lol that’s always my luck

I’ve seen about ten audio test videos where the Rode is a clear audio quality winner over the DJI 2

Deciding between the DJI Mic 2 & The ROde Wireless Pro has become an absolute clusterF. In every single other video by every other KZreadr - the DJI mic 2 sounds horrible! But in this video the DJI Mic 2 sounds great! WHY??? Have you treated the audio or is it raw?

I know and the reason seems to be quality differences between copies of the Mic2 transmitter. Some have a very audible high frequency cut off. See this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gHuhtdieZt2vnc4.html

The difference is he’s using the Lav mic and not the transmitter on its own

the case where you put the wind muff in really is hte transmitter side, it is the same case you get wit hthe 1 kit pkg, and its way too tight for it @2:25 nice to see the cord can get properly clipped behind a mic and not tear the port cable. mic alone sound a tad better then the lav.

As an Osmo Pocket 3 owner, I feel a little screwed that DJI doesn't sell the Mic 2 a single mic kit with the charging case. If you buy the single mic bundle, they give you a stupid little pouch and charging cable. Also, I wonder how many of the Mic 2's can connect to the Osmo Pocket 3 internally via bluetooth. Great video and I'm definitely getting the 2 mic set and I guess I'll have 3 mics all together. Weird and unthoughtful by DJI, but it is what it its I guess...

Charging case is available separately. And the Pocket 3 connects to two transmitters.

This is exactly what I ordered. A second mic with the charging case, to go along with Pocket 3 we already own.

The lab bike is better hands-down😮

Does the lab unplug easily…I shoot weddings and I can’t risk it getting pulled out without a threaded locking mechanism.

As the video showed, pulling on the wire won't unplug the lav if you loop it through the channel included for the purpose. I guess the plug would still be vulnerable if your subject decided to fiddle with it but it would almost have to be intentional sabotage to pull it out, especially the DJI lav with its L-shaped plug. Mount it where your bride or groom can't easily reach it and you'll be safe. And DJI's solution to the problem is actually quicker than a screw thread for when speed matters.

Have you noticed the quality is SIGNIFICANTLY worse when connected via Bluetooth vs. the receiver? Mine is a HUGE difference! The quality is trash (e.g., super tinny) when connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone 14 Pro Max, regardless of range/settings.

Obviously lol. The main point of the Bluetooth is to work well with other DJI products like the Pocket 3 and Action 4, etc. Is it possible? Yes. Is it worth it when you can just connect the reciever into your phone? Absolutely not

mic 2 doesnt work with rode lavalier ...mic 1 was doable
