    Hi Jai. Thanks for the video. Question........How do you know how much titanium dioxide to use for each jar? I see you used 10% titanium dioxide from the amount of cement all you had. Globmarble has a video where they talk about how it is not recommended to use more that 5% titanium dioxide from the total amount of concrete because it lowers that PSI by a lot. Since these jars are for candles, the strength of the jar is very important for safety. What are you thoughts? Thanks!

  • @upvibecandle

    @upvibecandle

    2 жыл бұрын

    Great question. When I first started I used 10% and then switched to 5% as going over that amount will start to compromise the vessel. So now 5% is the max I use. To figure out the amount to use just get your total formula amount and multiply that by 5%... and that will give you the amount to add in. Hope that helps.

    I like your channel :) I'm a little confused. I thought the TD or pigment is in addition to the cement all. Because you use up to a certain percentage of the cement all. If your adding the TD in the total grams of everything then your actually using less cement all. Isn't that bad for the integrity? Also you have me scared of selling my candles because of safety issue of cracking. What if someone ignores my safety sticker and burns it 4 hours and it gets really hot. Is it going to break and wax get everywhere or worse? I'm getting scared to do this.

  • @upvibecandle

    @upvibecandle

    TD should be no more than 5% of your dry mixture. Anything more starts to compromise the integrity of your vessel. If you test your work thoroughly you shouldn't be worried and not to make you feel nervous but pretty much EVERYONE is going to ignore your safety sticker. The human race as a whole will do what they want, forget to do it or avoid it altogether. So, add the label, test your work get great insurance and let the world continue to rotate as it does and you should be fine.
