I’d like to add a linear actuator to a whiskey barrel so the top lifts up and displays a couple rows of shelves for bottles and glasses.

Thanks for the ideas and great presentation. I also like to find ways to use every last bit of my barrels. I hang cut staves inside a barrel ring and sell them as wind chimes. I also take the end cuts of the wine staves, use pins in the 'cleat' indent for eyes, add wool beards and sell them as "grape robbers".

What are the best type of screws to use to secure the bands once you start cutting the barrel up?! I found a screw that was the right length but the heads keep snapping as they don’t handle too much torque. I don’t want to use self tapping to ensure max grip of the wood vice partially boring out the screw hole.

I don't use any screws in my projects, but that oak is so hard, you need to pre drill a small hole then run your screws in the wood. This will keep them from snapping off. Thanks for watching and please Subscribe 🍀🍺

Hi, I bought a rolling pin holder made from staves last year. ( think it was meant for wine bottles) Anyway was wondering how much it would cost for a picnic table? Live near Fancy Gap, VA. Also would like to talk & get some impute. Just moved to the area a few years ago. Thank-you

Correction the hole is the "Bung Hole." The "bung" plugs the hole after the whisky barrel is filled. It can also be used to hold a spigot.
