this is an absurd level of disassembly, considering how quickly it collects.

It's mostly absurd as Whirlpool could have made this so much easier. The part which collects fluff, culd have easily been accessible through a hatch on the bottom. The fact is; you're not supposed to repair or clean these things. Youre supposed just to buy a new one.

@@janklas7079 at the rate these horrible things accumulate lint in the wrong places we're talking like half a dozen dryers purchased per year. It's outright nonsense. Had to do it again yesterday.

Nice video ! Thanks Just some remarks : - 7:20 : You should remove the rear panel BEFORE the drum, and don't twist this panel like you do in 7:27 ! Avoid any twist or bending, this is not time saving, this is issue provider. - 12:10 : To improve the accessibility and efficiency of the cleaning with pressurized water on the heat pump : raise the evaporator on the top of the plastic frame. Then do the same for the condenser. That permit to evacuate all the wet dirts. And always protect parts of the electrical circuit such as the main electric motor, fan, compressor head, etc, to avoid any electrical issue or corrosion. - 12:34 : add a A fine stainless steel mesh filter on this piece of Whirlpool junk (integrate it by thermal bonding on its rear). With that you won't have to disassemble this machine again to do that tedious cleaning job ! You will just need to clean with a vacuum cleaner the mesh filter and some dirt on the front of the evaporator. - 13:39 : clean ALL the machine as long as it's open, because the remaining dust and lint may clog the machinery pieces. Machine repairing rarely needs strength, it mostly needs methodology, preparation and good practices to keep in mind :) Again, nice video !

Нужно вставить штуцер между теплообменниками просверлив предварительно отверстие под него и каждые 2- 3 месяца вдуть через штуцер пенну для промывки кондиционеров , тогда теплообменники будут чистые и сушилка прослужит долго!!!

Everything is really compact. I've repaired a few washers and dryers in my time, but I've never had the opportunity to tie into a heat pump dryer. I think I have a pretty good idea of how to work on them now. Thanks. 🙂

After pressure washing, would it be a good idea to spray it with some electronic contact cleaner? Maybe something that's a contact / metal friendly lubricant spray to help prevent any corrosion or calcification... 🤔

How about a small brush like tooth brush and vacuum cleaner with narrow end. Do this often. The lint usually only builds up on the front edge

Nice video, thanks! Do anyone know how to clean or change humidity sensor (wich one is it: the little black bar at the end of a long black cable?) : I did cleaning process as in video, but dryer still overdries clothes - program runs cca an hour longer than needed..

Think I will just stick to a condenser dryer as the heat exchanger just pulls out blast with a shower head (I highly recommend this) and it’s done. All these heat pump ones I see all have problems in keeping the grill clean it’s difficult and a bad design I would say and you can’t pull it out without taking the whole thing apart…. When they sort this problem out I may get one.

you have to be meticulous and clean the removable filter every load or the screen will plug and start pulling air around the filter. Thats where all the lint on the condenser is from.

Can you recommend any Heat-Pump units available in the USA that don't suck? Should I just use a resistance unit and plant trees instead to make up for extra energy?

The new _heat pump_ models are even worse. In order to achieve a better energy rating newer ones usually use just one filter so...have fun with that photosynthesis.

Do you have bosch in the USA they are self cleaning or fisher and paykel machines have a series of filters that collects all the smaller dust.
