Whirlpool Refrigerator External Leak Repair

In this video, I repair an external leak to a Whirlpool refrigerator. The process is similar for other refrigerators. External water leaks are likely related to a few items: tubing connections, water inlet valve failure, damaged connections at filter housing. Troubleshoot to find where your issue is before proceeding. In this video, there were two issues:
1. Compression fitting at filter housing was old and likely damaged
2. Tubing connecting to water inlet filter had scratches at the connection point that prevented forming a tight seal.
These two were addressed and the leak stopped. NOTE that the client's refrigerator is at least 15 years old. It works great, after the repair.
To ensure you purchase the right parts, get your fridge model number from the inside (usually top right wall of the refrigerator side). Use your model number to shop online for parts. Do not rely on visual similarity. Ensure the part lists your specific model number for compatibility.
There could also be a water leak on the inside of your refrigerator that eventually flows to the ground. That is a different repair likely related to faulty tubing/connection inside the refrigerator. That repair is not covered in this video.
