This video encouraged me to fix my washer myself, by replacing the water inlet valve! I ordered the part on-line using the Serial # of my GE Washer, then reviewed the video again, and went for it! It took me only 5 minutes to replace and fix my washer! Thank you so much for putting these how to videos on line! You saved me a service fee charge! thx! btw I am a 62 yr old woman with no washer repair experience .

My kenmore series 600 washer is leaking from the bottom. I did change the drain pump, but I still see the water leaking. I did notice my inlet valve was dirty with some black dirt balls in it, could this be reason for the leak?

Thank you. I have a 15 year old Sears Kenmore washer. Even tho the part looked very different from what is in the video, with the information that I got from you, I could adapt easily. The part cost $60 and it took longer to clean the dirty floor under the washer than it did to swap out the part. Thanks again.

I had ignored the slight drip and wetness on the floor under my Kenmore 1981 top loader long enough. Popping the top tonight I found the leak was the inlet valve unit on the hot water valve. From my search I came across you website, found the exact part that I needed for repairs (cheaper than Sears), and even a video confirming how easy it was going to be to swap the unit out. Thanks for supporting repairs on machines that are 35 years old. Excellent job on a very straight forward and to the point video to get the job done. Kudos. Now I won't be shopping for a new $800 washing machine thanks to you.

My cold water wasn't working. I did this and it worked fine at first. I put it on a regular cycle to just clean out some gunk that got in the washer while I was fixing it. It filled up and began agitating. After a while, I noticed I didn't hear the end cycle signal. I went down to check on the washer and it was stuck on the rinse cycle just buzzing. I spinned and tried to start over. Neither the hot or cold water would come on. I checked everything and the water cane on but it was making a loud banging noise. I turned it off and tried to turn it on again, but the water wouldn't come on again. Can you please help me figure this out? I can't even do laundry now. I don't understand why it worked at first and just stopped.

It's a carburetor for washing machines :-) I took the old one apart. The biggest problem I always have is getting the top back on ... the sides always seem to bow out and not sit right. This one had an extra challenge of the water nozzle assembly. This white plastic part has a point that goes through the top of the main body and other part (two fins) go through the back assembly. So not only to you have to get the top to play nice - but also make sure that thing is in there correctly.

Had issue with rinse cycle. Machine would fill to normal water level for wash cycle then wash and drain. Then when the water came on for rinse cycle barely any water would come out also sometimes too cold or hot. looked at several videos trying to decipher problem and determined it was either water inlet valve or timer control unit. The water inlet valve was $13 and the timer control $125 so I changed water inlet valve first and that was my problem! When installing new inlet valve there was a mounting bracket on it for fitting several models that I did not need because original screw that I removed screwed right into valve. Also when I went to install electric plugs back on valve they did not want to go on so I had to trim end of plug with nips and cut back plastic clips. plug connections are on there pretty tight should not slip off but will keep that in mind. Hope this helps thanks for video

If you go to our website (link in the description), you can type that number in and you'll find the part you need. Is there any way to adjust the hot to cold ratio? I live in a northern state and our normal tap water is very cold. I have my hot water source open all the way at the main valve but when I attempt to fill the tank with the HOT setting it fills at a very slow trickle. The COLD and WARM settings fill very fast but the WARM setting is very cold...not warm at all. I can obviously adjust the hot to cold ratio at my water source but this is going to make both my cold and warm cycles fill extremely slow.

The seal between the hose and the water valve could be worn out. It all depends on where the leak is coming from. If the leak is coming from the connection between the hose and the water valve and you already replaced the hose the water valve could be bad.
