Yes, same for me! But the diagnostic fee was quoted at $175 and I had to make an appointment for them to take all my money!

Thanks. This video was a life saver. I replaced the component myself and it’s working like new :). It was a little struggle to get the ring back on but we did it in a few goes with 2 people. You saved us $$$.

By following these steps, I discovered a wire had simply come loose from the locking mechanism - re-attach wire, re-assemble washer, and voila! Back in business :)

Searched the internet to solve the mystery of the F5 E3 error code. Okay, door latch problem. Can I fix it myself? Found part locally. Found this video. Followed the clear instructions to fix our washer. Getting the ring back on took some effort but everything else was a breeze. Thank you kindly.

I got the latch out ok. Good time to clean around the gasket, found a penny and the wife’s ped thingy! Tried to take latch apart to replace only the wax motor but it all fell apart. Part was $18 on Amazon hopefully it all goes back ok

I just took 3 bolts out of the foot panel (bottom) reached my hand up to where the lock/latch is and there should be a tear shaped plastic pull cord that will disengage the lock. I know this is years late and you probably already fixed it, but for anyone else that may need this, Its here.

I have a working latch but the plastic peice that is on the swinging door broke. I replaced ot but the locking macanesim wont release. Is there away to disengage it?

Everything was fine until replacing the ring around the gasket, in the video the machine is New, try this with a 6 year old machine, not so easy

I would clean the filter out....that sounds like you have a issue with that

I change the part but the code still there what else can I check

I have a Front Load whirlpool Duet Washer machine, model number WFW72HEDW0. The Machine will try to Drain itself for hours. No Display / Wont accept commands. Door is open / Unlocked, but the pump will still run for hours. ( Even though Machine is Completely Empty. Would the Symptoms of a Faulty Door switch cause the washer to keep trying to drain itself, even with the door open?

Sounds like a filter issue....your filter might need cleaning

@@Jay2k31313 Filters on the inlet valve screen? We do have hard water. And that calcium buildup does clog the screens pretty fast.

@@Daner949 There's a filter at the outlet at the bottom of the unit. Open the bottom panel and you'll see a round cap like on your car for oil. Put a bowl below and open it. There could be stuff in there. I had bra pads and socks finding their way in there some how.

@@kennguyen821 Thank you! I ended up installing a new pump, door lock & flow sensor in it. Still never worked! I ended up throwing the machine down a flight of stairs in a fit of rage. I really appreciate you getting back to me Ken. 🙂
