The ONLY video that tells you to do a reset to the circuit board to clear the bad heater code, which you have to do after you replace the heater element or the high temperature thermostat. I got the heating element from ebay ($23) and the high temp thermostat from Amazon ($6).

Try this first before removing the entire washer! if you don’t have “Popeye’s” forearms, you can simply reach under washer, unplug, unscrew bolts to remove element. Replaced in 15-20mins. You may not even need any tools, if you have strong hands like me. Still be cautious, lots of sharp items underneath. Cheers, you’re welcome!

If you have enough hose and wire slack, pull the whole DW unit out and put it on its side. Makes it a lot easier to do the replacement

My sprayer arm got messed up, popped off, and leaned into the element and melted on to the element. Going to have to try this very soon.

Did you happen to have the “Clean” light blinking in series of 7 blinks? That’s what mine is doing, same washer, but still gets hot. Just occasionally gets stuck ON for like 3 hours and the light will flash. Then I reset the diagnostic, and 1-2 washes it does it again.

What's the difference between WDF310PAAS4 (yours) and WDF310AAWO (mine), if any? Is the same element compatible?

I did all of this and my water still doesn’t seem to be heating up. Is it possible To clip the wires back on the heating element the wrong way??? Or does it not matter??

It shouldn't matter. Pull out the tech manual and run the self diagnostic test for the heating element, you will need an amp meter to clamp on the wire going into the heating element to see if it's getting power or not. That's where I would start. Also, dishwashers may heat up the water but you really need hot water coming in for it to work effectively, run faucet water until hot before starting the dishwasher.

There is a thermal cutoff in the circuit in series with the element. It should be closed (close to zero ohms).

“This just slides out” Not the way the contractors who installed mine put it. 😭 Edit: also, you know you can just unsnap the sprayer arm at the base. It makes getting the heating element out so much easier.
