This is awesome. My wife recently purchased me a whirley pop and I just gave it a go for the first time making a basic olive oil, salt, and pepper popcorn. We love kettle corn from local festivals; I’m going to have to give this a try. Thanks!

I dont have a whirly pop but used this as a guide to make sweet popcorn on the stove top for the first time. I've done it about 6-7 times now and only burnt it once, and not even too badly :) thank you!

Just curious as to why you shake the pot a lot. All of the other videos Ive seen on this product use the handle to crank and move the popcorn around. One reason Ive not made popcorn on our stove like yours is Ive been worried about scratching the top.

It’s probably to make sure any that gets pushed into the edge of the pot don’t get stuck and all kernels keep moving.

One recommendation I would make is to have 1/3 cup of kernels instead. That way there usually almost no unpopped kernels at the end

Hi there! I commented on this video before, but that wanted to tell you, that for people with diabetes, you can make kettle corn, using a blended and combined mixture of monk fruit sweetener and allulose. Whatever you do, DO NOT use erythritol, as that whenever you use it in its man made or synthetic form, it can give you a cooling sensation in your mouth and I'm sure you wouldn't want that! Finally, one way or the other though, whether you use monkfruit/allulose blend or pure cane sugar, your oil to sugar ratio is just much better than the kettle corn recipe in the whirley pop owner's manual, as with their's, it's just not sweet enough. So, I like your recipe better!

  • @bringhomethefair5453

Technically yes, but do not recommend. The density, moisture, and texture are completely different. Higher chance of burning the sugar to the bottom of pan and to popcorn. Also measurement would need to be lowered to allow these factors, so you might not taste as much of the balance as wanted. But its fun to experiment, if you try it let me know how it turns out?

You're right for sure! That is what the handle is for, but in a whirley pop smaller kernels can slide under the bottom spindles, it gives all kernels a guaranteed movement.

You shake it in the beginning before it pops to keep it moved around. The swirl mechanism really only works when it starts to pop. It works with the kernels but when you add the sugar it thickens which wont turn very well. If that all made sense
