The Yaesu FTDX-101 MP is an awesome radio, brilliant for contesting, especially working in split mode, quick and easy ! I also own the Yaesu FTDX 5000 MP Limited, my favourite !
The menu time out has been fixed with firmware update
I don’t think I’d ever actually seen the 101. All I can say is, “JESUS!”
My ftdx10 came with a free m70 desk mic, and it had the rj59 connection
FTDX-10👍👍👍
Good Day. Excellent review, as always. Now; Is it YAESU OR ICOM for me to buy? I'm relatively new but money isn't a deciding object. I need input on this. Which of the two Brands should I choose. There must be a deciding reason to choose one over the other brand. Yes, I know that they both are Superb. I plan to be around for a long time in HAM Radio. Thank You and all thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Best Regards
Can I plug a monitor into my ft-911A ?
FTDX10 Wins for me with a M-90D microphone was my old setup and my audio sounded alot better on the FTDX10 . I Now have a FTDX101D unless you use 2 antennas then i would stick with a FTDX10 Would not bother with the MP.

I agree, save the £1000 approx and put it towards either preloved or new linear amp.
You will no longer find shortwave receivers from Yaesu... 😞 So the question is whether such an ft 710 is also good for a shortwave receiver. can the transmitting part be switched off in that case?

Yes there is a transmit inhibit function that can be enabled in the TX General settings menu.

We have sold quite a few FT-710's to SWL's, they seem very popular for general receiving.
can you get the dx10 speaker to work on the the ft 710?

Yes it's just a plane ole' speaker with a TRS jack. Any speaker will work with either radios basically.
Hi, I am a new Foundation Licence holder and considering an FT-991A. Are you able to feature this radio? Thanks. Paul. M7PTH

Hi Paul, many congratulations on getting your Foundation Licence, we are looking to re-visit the popular Yaesu FT-991A in the spring / summer.

@@Martin_Lynch Great thanks. In the meantime I've bought an FTM-300DE and in the process of setting up a PDN node. Finding it very confusing. PDN node v HRI-200 node etc etc. Cheers. Paul M7PTH.
NONE are worth the price given the current sorry state of ham radio.
The 710 has been a game changer for the mobile and with my Pro7's headset I get comments all the time. That field price is honestly money well spent. Well done yaesu. MM5AJN/M
