As a Rugby player in high school, I enjoyed both world cups. Eventhough I suck at football but I love watching the match.

Honestly football is great and all but its only the world cup that entertains me. While in rugby all tournaments are just awesome from 6 nations to HSBC 7s and dont get me started with the RWC, thats just massive.

Cricket is not even close to rugby. Only Indian fans go everywhere to support their team. Other teams don't visit other countries they only support if the world cup is in their country. In terms of sporting popularity I would say soccer world cup but in terms of as an event I would give edge to rugby world cup. No sporting event attracts as much magnitude of fame as rugby world cup does not even and even some of the high class American sports like nascar or Superbowl. I am not going to mention about winter Olympics, summer Olympics, commonwealth games or all that though.

I'm sorry rugby fans but like lets be honest here. FIFA have way more people watching the world cup.

Grown man fall in football is called dive .. it's done to get opposite team members out of the team..if refree thinks that fall was real then red card is given .. football is like modern day politics. You win rightfully or win in a bad way faking fauls .. thus football has become more entertaining to watch and whole word except america thinks football is rugby.. now that's abnormal.. I like rugby but in rugby tactics are limited and you see same play again and again thus viewer loose interest plus it's easier to run holding a ball than to dribble it thus rugby player running doesnt as good as football player dribbling past two or three players ... Rugby is played with full protective gear but football is more risky people break their legs arms shoulders thus most of the time they fall even before faoul is committed or they fake it .. and they fake it like it's real .... I played rugby and found out skill doesn't matter in this game what matters is good strong body.. but in football your body size doesn't matter Messi is only 5,5 but he is the best and most paid football players not because of his body but because of his skill ... Thus rugby game didn't became popular in rest of the world

Daniel Snow you really think the concept of picking up a ball and putting it down over a line took that much thought and it would need football to come up with that idea? Sure rugby was invented after football but it’s common sense it’s not difficult to invent.

Rugby requires much more skill. In football they only kick the ball while in rugby you need to catch and run with the ball. Not even talking about scrums and lineouts yet. Football players get injured so easily. Rugby is not for the weak

My family are football fans I am the only rugby fan I say rugby because I can’t stand the over hyped football players flopping and diving to cheat the ref also I don’t like football players when they try to surround the referee because they disagree with a decision that the referee has made get on with it I say also I think it’s silly to pay someone £300,000 plus to kick a ball around I feel there is a lot more passion in rugby than in football you don’t hear rugby fans being hooligans when they travel or shout racist remarks to players I can sit in a rugby stadium next to the opposing fan and not feel threatened like he is going to kick my head in if I cheer for my team where in football you can’t do that

Rugby is pathetic every single player has tunnel vision. To be good at rugby u have to be able to knock a brick wall over if u can than your a good player so what happens to the small ones. Football however anyone can play it’s more skill full and it’s way harder to kick a ball the catch a ball not only that but there are 218 countries attempting to get into the World Cup finals which has 32 in the football finals whereas rugby has 16 in total. The worst thing about rugby is the people who play it they are the most self centred tunnel vision people I’ve ever seen
