And then there are totes such as the Coach Willow which has a thrice closure: zipper, turnlock, and magnet, plus feet! Yes, that's a great point the willow has three kinds of security areas!

I love a zipper, but very rarely close it. I guess I like having the option. If I was in a crowd, I would zip up the bag. I think I need to “zip my lips” a bit more often. Great video. Very well done.

Great subject and good points. I live in S. CA. I was visiting Mexico many years back. My bag was open and I was pick pocketed. I did recover my wallet. I am now on my way to New Orleans in a few days so thanks for the reminder that my stuff in side my bag needs to be kept safe. I mostly wear flap bags with turn lock closures. 🔐

I have had my purse spill all over my car floor on more than one occasion when I stopped short….. and that makes me infuriated. Therefore I zip. Further I once was pickpocketed in San Francisco when I threw my wallet ontop of an unzipped tote, and someone jostled me on a bus. From then on i zip religiously when traveling and I want that option.

This is a very fun topic. I guess I prefer to have a zipper but rarely zip up my bags. If I feel I need more security, I will zip it up, put valuables in a larger pouch or use my organizer that has a zip top. Great video. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛

These responses were so good, especially the kitten! 😊. I am of both thoughts. If I’m going somewhere that I would be concerned about theft, I use a bag with a zipper or flap when possible. Otherwise, I like an open tote. I’m had plenty of those car spills, but it hasn’t stopped me from wanting an open tote.

This is an awesome, well thought out video! I loved the comments from both sides and I can see both sides because it’s valid points on both sides. However, I’m more team zipper. I do tuck the tail of the zipper in to the side of the bag. I love magnetic closures as well such as the coach Lori which has zipper in the middle. I also love a flap such as the coach Cassie. I just don’t like when contents of the bag are exposed. That’s why I need a closure vs open tote. That would drive me nuts!

Love the topic. I am definitely team Z, although I rarely use it. Magnetic closures are also quite handy, although somehow my bag remains open a lot. Just a security option well worth it when needed!😊

I do enjoy the ease of not having a zipper, but if I’m traveling, especially at an airport, I always use a zippered bag. I enjoyed those stories and relieved to hear they found the wallet and the family trip was saved!! #Team Zipper 😂

This is an interesting debate because I was just looking at totes on PLG's site recently... saw the Bacalar tote was available, but not with a zipper unless I wanted the large size. And I wanted the smaller, so the no zip was my only option. Plus, I figure if I don't snap up a Bacalar-colored tote now I'll miss out, and I love that particular shade. Their totes are deep enough that I don't worry about pickpockets as I already have a medium in Oxblood, but when I go for the Mini Crossbody (still on the fence about that one) I'll probably go for a zipper because I don't like how the snap looks on the outside of the bag. Aesthetics! Fascinating stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Eva this is a fun video! I use pouches for zip or no zip! That way atleast they are in a pouch if they fall out. I don’t think they should charge extra for a zipper IMO! Tfs Eva

Fun video! Love the kitten story. I left a bag open on the floor once and one of my cats peed in it 😱 😂 Luckily it wasn’t a luxury bag but a very cheap one - but even so! And that one had a zip and I hadn’t zipped it up 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway I think I am team zip or ‘team some form of closure’ - it’s probably why my open totes don’t get as much use as my other bags x

I prefer a zipper.. but am particular about the zipper features (quality, color, placement, length, etc.) I would rather have no zipper than a zipper that is cheap or scratchy, mismatched color or metal, too short and leaves odd gaps, and so on. I am kind of choosy about most features.. 🤷‍♀ ~Mia 💜
