Ever since the Full Arsenal update dropped I've been seeing a lot of questions about the Alt Shotgun aka "The Jackhammer" and how it fits into V1's arsenal, so I made a video to try and answer those!

    I love how the jackhammer has than little pause before the damage happens as if V1 and/or the enemy needs a sec to realize what is going to happen.

    Maybe it's the pressure taking a second to release and the sound that is before the half second stun is the mechanism activating

    I use normal core and sawed, and alternate pump. The fact you can instakill mostly every enemy with alternate pump is really useful, and the little pause it does just fills my brain with dopamine

    Pretty much exactly how my loadout is too, allows you to use the jackhammer while largely keeping your shotgun swapping projectile boosting

    @@sunbleachedangel I have my mouse buttons bound to next variant and prev variant, as long as you can keep track of which way you need to go you can keep swapping

    I never really put it into perspective: Like The more shotguns you equip, the more *reliable* your loadout is. The morr jackhammers you equip, the more *destructive* your loadout is. That kind of perspective makes it much easier to choose my loadout actually, as I can figure out what combination of two worlds I need for individual situations

    The jackhammers are completely reliable though. You just dash jump something is dead or close. Green even has better aoe than the normal pump (not that it matters when both red nailguns are completely broken and turn any large group of enemies into instant ultrakill rank)

    I am unfortunately a purist. I am someone who prefers consistency and dependability over destructiveness, especially in intense Ultrakill fights. Shotgun swapping, projectile boost spamming, the whole deal. HOWEVER, saying that the jackhammer sucks is unfair. It might not fit my playstyle, but it sure fits some others

    Same, but i'll definetly replace either the overpump or sawed on with alternate just because of the super accessible high damage shot, so it can be used effectively in a combo Pro boost, Rocket, Whiplash and hit with cannonball and parry it back in, then whiplash again to use alt shotgun red hit, and then punch a coin and shoot it with the piercer

    Enemy prioritization is very important in ultrakill. I'm willing to have less reliability in my build if it means I can burst down a mindflayer in just a few seconds. In the most intense fights, yes consistency and dependability are important, but what I'm concerned with is simplifying the fight so it becomes less intense. That's why I run two impact hammers.

    it's a big commitment where you lose out on the extremely dependable standard shotgun tech and get a lot of extra risk added on top, but it absolutely can pay off. no part of it is a direct upgrade. i don't use the alt shotgun at all but i admit it's possibly the most well-designed alt weapon in the game.

    I'm not a purist, I'm a HATER. I'm legit sticking to the pump and core eject because I HATE the new versions. The alt is just like a knuckleblaster but much slower and less versatile, and the sawed on is only good by itself. The sawed-on does NOT complement the other weapons fast enough.

    @@yeahmans sawed-on still makes shotgun swapping better cause you run out of freshness slower while doing it. no reason not to have standard sawed-on equipped if you're going for all standard shotguns

    Overpump jackhammer pretty much saved my playstyle. I didn't know what to do with the overpump shotgun since I only really used it to proboost or shotgun swap, but then comes along the jackhammer (and sawed-on) and it was exactly what I needed. I could use the two other shotguns to continue shotgun swapping while reserving the jackhammer to personally delete any enemy I didn't feel like dealing with. (Very often sentries, though the target is occasionally virtues too)

    The overpump shotgun is very useful when wanting to instakill maurices or mindflayers (cant instakill them anymore on brutal) by reflecting their shots back to them. Also instakilling virtues, and even sentries with an overpump. Also one of my most used tactics with it is a double pump and a parry together during a boss's parry window. It deals like ~20 ish damage or something ridiculously high because the parries stack, plus you projectile boost at the same time. Try it out, it's really versatile

    you can also one shot sentries with green rocket launcher (S.R.S Cannon) by full charging a cannon ball, shooting a rocket right after launching the cannon ball and then punching said ball (you need to do this almost instantly) it also one shots cerberus (by what i've tested)

    i think hakita really nailed the alternate shotgun, it truly feels like a sidegrade and i switch back and forth depending on my mood and the level. the other alternate weapons really felt like either direct upgrades (alt piercer, both alt nailguns) or downgrades (alt marksman), with only sharpshooter being more of a preference thing

    I agree completely, the Impact Hammer is easily the best balanced alternate, it's an excellent sidegrade to the Shotgun.

    i actually still use the green nailgun. The green sawblades have their place, but having a BRRRRRRRR gun for quick and easy, setup free single target damage is just nice

    yeah tbh i think the default nailguns are fine. especially with the new jumpstart making it optimal to hold at least one nailgun.

    Weird fact, the explosion created by the overpump shotgun actually deals more damage than the explosion of the jackhammer overpump, but still has less range

    @@matthiass._. not the reason, mannequins have explosion resistance. u can incosistently kill them with overpump because the explosion knocks the blue orb back into them

    they actually both do 10 damage point blank, but i think cuz the shotgun's explosion is concentrated into a smaller blast radius it does more damage if hit. usually stuff hit by the jackhammer explosion are hit for splash damage instead of the full load

    I personally use the alt on just the sawed-on. No real reason, I just figured keeping the original shotguns normal was better for my muscle memory

    Same here, it just fits more for me that the alt sawed on doesn’t really change how you use its ability in any way so aside from shotgun swapping there are no tradeoffs. Hell, even with the jackhammer in my loadout since it’s on the third slot I can still comfortably shotgun swap once with the over pump and core eject being in slots 1 and 2 respectively, which is also about how many swaps I can get in before getting punished for standing still for too long.

    @@Bon_fyre you can fully shotgun swap by using "q" instead of "e", as that switches to the last equipped variation rather than to the next one, allowing you to only swap between 2 of them.

    Hell yeah, same. When the jackhammer is on cooldown, I could just go ham at the enemies with the chainsaw. When I have both ready, I can just whiplash to an enemy and choose either to saw them or to hammer them, either way works

    I like how the addition of the new rail gun has kinda "revived" the nailgun. So many people dropped it for sawblade after that was buffed a while ago, but now the red nailgun seems "better".

    im only 12 minutes in but u missed out the "cheap core nuke" (what im calling it), you can fire a rocket into a core to make a core nuke without mal rail, but its kinda hard to pull off in combat

    I really like the consistencey of core eject, and I find the Jackhammer core combos take too long to set up. So I run blue shotgun. The ability to use the Pump Shotgun's overpump multiple times is very useful for handling multiple virtues, streetcleaners, and a few other fodder enemies. I wouldnt want to lose the spamability and I want to shotgun swap. So I use the Pump Shotgun. Finally, the alt fire in both red variants are identical, except the Jackhammer gets the extra synergy of hitting the saw (never comes up, though). I want to run at least ONE Jackhammer for the high damage, high knockback combos (Like 1 shotting malicious face, virtues, and a small combo to kill Guttermen). For these reasons, I take the consistent Core Eject Shotgun, the reusable Pump Shotgun, and the hard hitting Sawed-On Jackhammer.

    damn, i use the exact opposite of this set. imo, the chainsaw is better used with other weapons as the timing and physics is really easy to get down and can be used as if it isn't there while using other weapons. essentially, it's free damage with no drawback. i also want to shotgun swap but keep the power of the jackhammers so the only shotgun i use is sawed-on. it's the first variant in my arsenal so i can just quickswap between pistol and shotgun to swap faster than normal shotgun swapping. the other 2 are jackhammers because they are much more powerful than the shotgun variant. the core eject is a cheap mal railcannon that can be spammed a LOT and the overpump is fucking amazing. also, you can use the overpump multiple times in a Jackhammer too, just don't directly hit any enemy and dash backward at the same time as releasing the fire key. i also think the dps of the jackhammer core is higher because it still reloads really fast and can become a hitscan projectile

    I think arguing to use the meta used to hold more weight, but as more weapons have been added and balance changes it doesn’t as much. I mean I’m using 3 alt revolvers in my loadout to fan them like a dumbass and that actually works

    This update was really hard for me to get used to since the overpump shotgun was my most used weapon, but the overpump jackhammer blows it out of the water lol the damage is just absurd. And with the patch, i don't really have a choice because i now need the extra pumps on the jackhammer to oneshot sentries and stuff.

    I've also figured out a trick to make the Jackhammer even more viable: You can shotgun swap with only one shotgun. Hear me out, now that you can bind a key to "switch weapon variation back" you can bind one key to swap forward and another back. If you press them in quick succession you will "swap" weapons while remaining on the same variation. Alternatively, if you have a keyboard or mouse capable of doing multiple keystrokes with a single key, you can simply bind both inputs to a designated, "weapon swap" key (although I'd understand if some players think this is an unfair advantage or cheating) -For instance, I have my swap forward bound to "t" (which is my front side mouse button bind) and I have a keyboard that allows me to bind an input to pushing a key down as well as releasing a key. So, I have my "E" key to input "t" on a down press and "e" on release, allowing for rapid one weapon swapping. So for my loadout I have: 1. Sawed on Shotgun 2. Pump Charge Jackhammer 3. Core Eject Jackhammer So I can get the best of both worlds. Hope this helps!

    I like the pocket hammer variation, mainly because it has a similar place in my heart, next to the cannonball, where you use it once in a while and wait out the cooldown with another weapon with a cooldown with another weapon with a cooldown ect. ect. Fills out everything pretty well imo!

    shotgun swapping is still doable if you have a hotkey for both the shotgun and another weapon. shoot, quickly swap to other weapon and then back, and shoot again. it's harder but you technically don't need more than one shotgun

    no, it's the same difficulty. just keep the shotgun of your choice as the first weapon then quickly press keys 1 and 2 to pull out the shotgun faster than normal shotgun swapping

    Personally I'm a big fan of having the sawed-on variant as my only jackhammer. I can't be bothered to give up any shotgun tech because I like always having a universal loadout, and while on its own it doesn't have much in terms of useful interactions with its variant (juggling the chainsaw with the hammer can be trickier than with a feedbacker) it leaves me something to do (juggling the chainsaw) while the cooldown recharges and I don't want to use other weapons just yet. It also comboes quite well for enemies like guttermen and cerberi, where I can hit them with a full momentum hammer and without swapping to another weapon load a chainsaw into them several times.

    GREAT VIDEO!!! The editing in that montage at the beggining showcasing the jackhammers in general did wonders to hype the weapon up and i live the lil details like the metally clanky noises when the screen transitions into different hyilds come in on screen in general just really well edited and paced video!!!

    I myself only use 1 jackhammer, the red one. I do this so I dont lose any of the alt fires, can still use overpump spam to clear out those 10 virtue waves, can core eject nuke consistantly from riding a rocket and have accses to 1 shotgunsawp which is enough to kill a maurice if you add a knuckleblaster punch. I usually use the saw on the sawed-on to add to my sawblade trap because I like to be airborne all the time during the cybergrind. And the jackhammer I use when I think I can quickly land a red guage hit on an enemy. With this loadout I got to wave 62 on brutal.

    Great video! I've also been running loadout 4 recently and I get around the lack of shotgun swapping by pressing both the next and the previous variation buttons in quick succession. This way you can essentially shotgun swap with just 1 shotgun. Imo it's even easier then doing so with 2 shotguns, because you don't have to keep track of your current variation.

    Something I'd like to point out is that the SRS cannon can do 12 damage (by parrying the cannonball back into an enemy after it hits and bounces up) with an 8 second cooldown with relatively simple setup. For reference, the jackhammer does 10 damage with a 7 second cooldown without anything like overpumps or saws added on. Both require you to be in melee range of an enemy and in the jackhammer's case be going fast, so the SRS cannon has somewhat less setup. Instead of having 2 jackhammers, I just use one (sawed on) and have the srs cannon so i can still have a similar effect of jackhammer swapping while keeping my other two shotguns cool vid tho :D

    I use Pump and Sawed-Off Shotguns on my 1 and 2 slots, and then Core Jackhammer on 3. I like being able to do 2 quick Pro-Boost Shots, and I prefer to nuke from the Jackhammer both for normal use and for nuking (I just find it easier, there's no particular difference)

    honestly the jackhammer might be my new favourite weapon. i loveee dealing huge damage with whiplash -> jackhammer. i personally leave default shotgun on the green and red variants and then use the alt on the blue version for core launching & huge burst damage damage

    I run alt core and sawed, normal pump. I'm relatively fresh when it comes to the more advanced tech, I didn't even know about shotgun swapping, so to me having the faster fire rate of the pump is a life saver. The sawed hammer is in my opinion the best hammer, having a reliable ranged option when using a hammer is great, being able to spam primary while holding down the secondary is great for being an ankle-biter on large targets, and the primary and secondary fire are both good enough on their own to deal with the other being on cool down if you're the type to get fixated on one weapon in the heat of battle. Both core versions I haven't really used much, they're really basic if you don't know the tech (and as stated before I didn't). I'd say go normal core if you're more skilled with the tech and alt core if you just like turning your brain off and whacking things really hard (I'm in the latter camp).

    I like to use only the blue jackhammer since that one has the most unique techniques to it. Hitting the core can be used like a bigger albeit slower projectile boost, and it always coming out near you makes it relatively easy to shoot for a quick red explosion if you want. The pump charge damage is very impressive, but I prefer the shotgun version because it charges faster. Also, it not launching you away can be useful if you're trying to quickly combo an enemy. For example, the Gutterman will die very fast with an overpump explosion, chainsaw launch + projectile boost, and jackhammer hit at full power. As for sawed-on, I use the shotgun version because not only can you projectile boost and fire the chainsaw at the same time, but doing so will make it go its maximum distance even if you don't charge it. Ideally, it'll go through the target, hit 6 times in total for 1.5 damage each, plus 3.5 from the boost. This gives you 12.5 damage with a pretty decent range, which is great for how quickly you can pull it out. If you wanna juggle the chainsaw, try to also fire a weapon for more damage. Sadly I haven't been able to pull this off consistently, but I think the nailguns would be most useful for this since you can just hold the fire button and do alright damage while you focus on keeping the chainsaw active.

    Personally I like running Pump shotgun Core eject jackhammer Sawed on shotgun Allows for shotgun switching between pump and saw, but still with the damage capability of the jack hammer. Plus all the cool core eject tech with the new variant.

    Was really hoping for a video like this! Since the update I've just been having fun running through brutal with all three hammers, playing with my new toys; but now I'm in the middle of p-ranking everything, it's got me thinking a lot more about my choice of weapon-- not just for the shotgun, but in general. (I've used overheat nailgun for the first time in _ages_ just because overheat sawgun wasn't really working for me with the minotaur. I think this vid helped me come to the conclusion that the jackhammer is just a really well balanced side grade to the shotgun, and none of its variations are overwhelmingly better or worse than the base shotgun, and that it's worth practicing the tech on both. (Only exception might be the sawed-on-- the jackhammer just pairs so much better with it imo.) What I've been doing is using the red jackhammer, green shotgun, (I've noticed it has a unique, faster reload animation compared to the other two, making it more consistent whether or not shotgun swapping is available,) and swapping between the blue shotgun and hammer depending on my mood, and I think that's what I'm gonna keep doing for now

    Worth mentioning that hammers have their own style bonus in the form of +BLUNT FORCE, +HEAVY HITTER, +BLASTING AWAY, +FULL IMPACT, and can proc +HOMERUN, +GUARD BREAK, +ICONOCLASM, +ULTRARICOSHOT (for core eject), +SERVED, +LANDYOURS, and +STRIKE! which normal shotguns cannot.

    ngl when I first unlocked the Jackhammer, I thought I wouldn't use it much, but when I entered the final room in 7-2 and could kill all the Guttermen and Guttertanks without a problem while getting insane movement speed, I swapped all my shotguns for the alternate version. For me, it's the most fun I've had using a single weapon from this game

    A play style I use is 1 Pump Shotgun 2 Sawed Off Shotgun 3 Core Eject Jackhammer I usually overpump a LOT with the pump shotgun And I can’t give up shotgun swapping so the sawed off is still a shotgun But even with only one jackhammer which I use jackhammer things for I still use core nukes effectively I was never good at core nukes before but having a core nuke right in front of my face is nice I usually use the hitscan explosive with the jackhammer when I’m projectile boosting and swapping as I got really good with that Try this out for yerself!

    Big fan of having only the alternate Pump. You get yet another good opportunity for dealing with whatever big enemies come your way first, taking out the biggest threats before they put you in a bad situation. Since it doesn't take much time or effort to use, you can then clear out fodder or other enemies while it recharges, especially since you still have two shotguns for swapping, and the core eject to Nuke.

    Personally, all 3 alt shotguns. Not because this is a good and balanced setup, but bc it is the most fun for me. They also convinced me to learn some actual movement tech so I can consistently hit those high speeds necessary to "We'll be right back" the next mildly beefy enemy

    Found this and your last video just now and, well, I like the editing! It's simple but also sweet with sound effects and good visuals ^^ It was fun! Personally I've been having trouble getting used to the jackhammer, since it's just... Too different? It's a great weapon, yet I can't get a hand of it being on my arsenal I still have to experiment more, only thing I've tried is using alt sawed-on on my third slot because I _also_ have to get used to the chainsaw (Can't get enough use out of it) and it's kinda awkward to use lol, specially when I have the mentality of "I want to shotgun swap right now!" and get messed up because I'm not used to a red variation (Same with firestarter and jumpstart! I need some time for them) Maybe it's time for some testing :3 Great content!

    I do triple jack hammer, I have replaced the projectile boost for core boosting (when you hammer a core eject) and just love the hit-stop on max gauge hits.

    Cool trick you can learn is to shotgun swap to the same shotgun by either going forward a variant and immediately backwards a variant, or switching to another weapon like the revolver and then back to shotgun. Using this allows V1 to take 2 jackhammers and 1 shotgun while still having access to the power of shotgun swapping’s blisteringly fast rate of fire :)

    I run all Jackhammer now. I never actually used the shotgun much and treated my revolvers as the workhorse weapons, but now use the jackhammers not just for the massive damage, but for the mobility. You can get some Slamstorage level height out of it. But my favorite use for them is them is to pair them with the screwdriver. You can switch to, aim, and fire the screw driver during the hitstop, which if you are fast enough makes even the fastest of enemies an easy target for it. I also will feedbacker the screws during the hitstop as well. Single pump of an overcharge jackhammer and a screw is enough to kill a Cerberus.

    I do pump shot + core shot + saw hammer in that order. This is mostly due to what I think is cool more than for practicality though (I like repeaters more than break actions so overpump gets the first slot, and I like the vibe of having a dedicated melee weapon able to both carve through hordes of fodder and slam larger targets for massive damage). It also helps that I'm a shameless Lenient skrub and a yellow jackhammer strike when combined with a revved saw - as well as a knuckleblast for good measure - can fairly consistently instakill maurices without putting the weapon on cooldown, and is very easy to do by just whiplashing to them without doing a cancel.

    I use "The Bridge" Loadout but with overpump set as 1st, sawed on as 2nd and core eject as 3rd. The Overpump jackhammer is great for large enemies I don't want to deal with like maurices and sentries, the sawed on is pretty much a second jackhammer punch if the 1st one doesn't do it or I miss the punch, and core eject is pretty much specifically for malicious railcannon nukes. The main thing I like about the jackhammers is how good it is for heavy enemies so having overpump be the first variant chosen when I press the shotgun key is so good for when I need to quick kill a maurice or break a gutterman shield.

    i wanna add that the blue jackhammer can act as a half decent projectile boost substitute in a lot of scenarios; it's a bit difficult to pull reliably while moving, but in a bunch of movement sequences (such as sliding or falling) you can hit the core right as it comes out to launch it! one blue jackhammer eject hitscan is roughly two projectile boost hits (not counting stray pellets) in terms of damage, so it works decently enough in my opinion!

    2 things you forgot or not noticed. 1- Core eject Jackhammer does pess self damage than the shotgun version. 2- When on the red gauge of the jackhammer. You can swap into another weapong and shoot (best ex. being screwdriver.)

    Something I like about the Alt Core Eject is that it makes it really easy to launch the core directly forward using the knucklebuster blast. You can only launch them about 45 degrees in front of you but hitting enemies in the face with it feels so disrespectful >:3

    I've been running OG shotguns with a red hammer myself. I get a couple of proboosts off safely before rushing in with a revved hammer and splattering blood everywhere. Seems to be working well for me, and it definitely helps me to get to wave 45+ on brutal cybergrind.

    The alt sawed on can one shot malfaces with a whiplash cancel while revved up, release the saw after hitting the mal face, slam, jump, and parry the saw. This kills the malface in around 1.5 seconds. A faster way to do it is to parry the saw as it comes out.

    I use core eject jackhammer and other 2 shotguns. I don’t coresnipe much anyways, so I like to think of it as a free mal rail every time I rocket ride, and am working on refining my aim to hit coins! I’d also say that your choice will also be reflective of your general playstyle, chaotic and mid/far range with jackhammer, consistent and close range with the shotgun

    One thing I discovered is that, while it probably wouldn't get any use in regular gameplay due to how long it takes, there's (currently) no limit to the number of chainsaws you can juggle at once with the alt shotgun, so you can one-shot any enemy given enough setup time! It's probably not something worth taking it for, but it's something to consider if you're using it

    I've been running triple jackhammers for a while now but I ocassionally switch back to just the blue shotgun because of nukes. Not having shotgun swapping sort of stings, yes. But I personally noticed that even before the jackhammer dropped, I had been using the shotgun less in general for some reason. With the exception of nukes and the ocassional projectile boost, of course.

    I like to use the sawed-on jackhammer (though I haven't really tried using the other alternates too much). My favourite thing is instakilling virtues. To my knowledge, the most virtues that appear at once are the three in the last room of P-2. A yellow hit combined with a saw launch can instakill one virtue, a red hit can instakill another and if there's a third then I can use the electric railcannon, so virtues don't really get to exist anymore.

    At first I used the pump jackhammer because I lile big damage, and the other 2 shotguns but I relied a lot on overpump shotgun to clean waves of virtues so now I'm using the red jackhammer Swapping the first 2 shotguns + knuckle blaster can instakill a maurice and then I can have a heavy hit with the red jackhammer, which as you said complements very well with the extra healing While using the red shotgun I found it really awkward that it launched the chainsaw when firing so the red jackhammer is definetly better The core techs with the jackhammer look very fun tho, I might give it a try

    I like to go default blue and green shotguns, with a sawed-on jackhammer. It allows me to use essentially all the tech I've grown accustomed to, while still letting me use the jackhammer to deal with maurice and virtues when necessary, and I still get the chainsaw for when I want it. The only thing I'd love to try out more is punching the core eject with the jackhammer, but I'm not sure I wanna trade easy nukes away just to use it.

    personally i use normal saw in first slot, then alt pump, then alt core. this way i can quickly projectile boost and switch to alt core (with the variant back button). plus pump is really good against big guys like mind flavors and it's nice to have two cause of the cooldown.

    I love the jackhammer because it indirectly alleviates one my biggest (and probably only) problems with the game, guttermen. I've never liked how the gutterman all but requires you to use a specific weapon, being the only enemy in the game to do so. The only somewhat similar thing in the game I can think of is coining the streetcleaners to make them explode, but unlike knuckleblasting the guttermen's shield, this is (1.) optional, and (2.) fun. With the jackhammers also breaking there shield this problem is lessened by virtue of giving the player options, which last time I checked is one of the core aspects of Ultrakill. Also jackhammering their shield is just simply a lot more fun than walking up to them and holding the 'break gutterman shield' button.

    I personally just use the alternate red variant. The muscle memory just won't break from all the shotgun swapping, nuking, proj. Boosting etc. But having a insane damage dealer in you pocket is neat

    I've been a bit weird relative to the community in that I never really ended up using slot 2 all that much due to the other tools filling the gap for me, only swapping if I needed to end a Maurice or my freshness was low elsewhere. Jackhammer is king for me and I'm willing to go all in on the funny yellow arm.

    One strat I think you shouldve mentioned with full hammer is that you can hammer the rocket down you're riding if the rocket is above you. This lets you basically do the equivalent of shotgun pboost swap by hammering core, rocket ride while going up, hammer rocket, hammering core, repeat. It's like a slower but more damaging pboost swap equivalent.

    theres some new options/keybinds that let you swap to a specific variation or the first variation, so you can keep normal shotgun on the first slot and shotgun swap with just that one shotgun using the sswitch to first or keybind to first variation

    i like how hakita designed this new alt weapon tbh. sure, with the others there are a few options that simply depend on your playstyle but most high-level players go with a specific loadout of slab piercer standard marksman, spab sharpshooter, alt attractor, alt overheat, standard jumpstart. things like overheat, sharpshooter, and now marksman thanks to the update are still mostly dependent on your playstyle, but pretty much nobody is arguing that alt attractor and especially slab piercer aren't direct upgrades. but with the jackhammer, not a single one of them feels like a direct upgrade mainly because of how much you sacrifice to put them in the arsenal. i don't use any of them personally, and on the initial release of the update i agreed with most higher-level players that the jackhammer was fun but not practical, but i've come around to seeing it on the same level as the shotgun after seeing the tech it can do. it's a big commitment putting it in your arsenal, and i personally prefer to consistency and massively reduced risk of the shotgun compared to it, but it's a good addition. not every new weapon needs to directly make the game easier.

    Hear me out. I think the most optimal will be: 1. Core - Original 2. Pump - Original 3. Saw - Jack You still have shotgun swap as you can go back the cycle with Q. Still have projectile boost. AND the most important part. Saw + max output jack + knuckle > max output pumpjack + knuckle. If you time it right you will also have a saw following you all the way where you were launched by max output potentially dealing even more dmg

    i think jackhammer is more usefull against heavy enemies like maurices virtues and sentries, while shotguns since they have constant dps rather than short bursts of extremelly high damage are good against bosses and fodder enemies

    I could never let the green shotgun go. The overcharge explosion is integral to my playstyle while the slighty faster rate of fire makes successive proboost less awkward. I personally go with the blue and red alt, which turns core nuke into a more defensive option to clear out enemies and projectiles around me while having two hammers means that I have the delicious 10 damage (and orgasmic hitstop) up more often.

    Ever since the update came out I have been running all the alt shotguns a lot, it is really good. Choosing it is just going all in on pure strength and power. Unfortunately, in exchange you lose the flexibility and dexterity of the normal shotguns. The normal core eject especially is a big loss. However for me the more important factor has just become what is more fun, and hammer swapping is just too fun for me to give it up. At the bare minimum in cybergrind I give myself one run with all hammers. If I die in a stupid way because of it I swap to normal core eject. I typically get a little further with the normal core eject, although not as fast.
