I just like to imagine the shoes in the next 10 or even 20 years. These supershoes will probably be nothing in comparison so I try not to make it a big deal of these new releases.

I think people wanted this comparison because the NB Elite V4 seems like a good option for the “every day runner” or “mid-packer” as you say and identify with. You had great things to say about the Cielo X1 so it also seems like an option for the every day runner. Summary: you are the voice of the every day runner and people want to know what the best race shoe for the every day runner is. Thanks for the comparison!

Nothing like watching a shoe comparison knowing that you'll end up buying both eventually.... I picked up the Cielo yesterday but the Elite V4 is on my list as well.

Love love love my NB SC Elite v.4! Definitely, for me, even if it is otherwise a tie, as a small woman I would always go with the lighter shoe in a marathon. Never discount that issue at the end of a marathon. I love that I never have to think about my feet in a marathon wearing these buttery soft responsive shoes. I have worn all of the versions of the RC/SC Elite and although I wasn't sure I would like them, these are definitely winners for me.

Thanks. You read our mind. I was looking forward this comparison. I would go with SC elite. it just look way better. For me, I need as well a more breathable shoe. my marathon happens always in a hot weather. I don't know if you're going to wear them for a long run. I also think on a 20/ 22 miles. I like to think SC elite on tired legs. it slightly less taxing, due to its less drop. I could be totally wrong. That's where you coming in as a world tester ❤.

I love my SC Elite v.4 and, for me, the weight too would be a big factor. I don't ever even think of my feet when wearing these.

Appreciate the review Emily. Hoka is on my birthday list for next month, or at least money towards it! Looking forward to using it in races.

Another great video comparison, great review from you Heller, keep it up the great work. Having tried both shoes for about 30km so far, I would have to say that the NB SC Elite V4 is my favourite shoes so far. I found while the Cielo is a fun with lots of cushion shoes to run, I did not enjoy the forefoot feeling in it, a little bit too stiff for my liking, whist the NB SC Elite.

I just can’t wait my NB Elite to arrived, just purchased it online few days ago ❤

Love your review! Actually i was at the shoe shop and literally torn for these two pairs of shoes. Then after i tried countless times back and forth I walked out the store with HOKA CIELO X1. The one and only reason is just like your comments, compare to traditional super shoes the instant amazingness that HOKA CIELO X1 brought me was mind-blowing 🤯. Now I can't wait to run my coming race with them❤

I loved the Rocket x2, and was pleased with the SC Elite v3 as an ultra shoe, but not a marathon shoe. It just didn't have what I was looking for. I picked up the SC Elite v4, and it is above and beyond the v3 - I love it. It disappears on my foot when running, and I can just hone in on my efforts/pace, and that is a real game changer for me. You've peaked my interest in the Cielo X1 but for now I'm quite happy with the v4

I have both and even though my brain says "get the SC Elite V4", my heart definitely sticks with the Cielo X1. While both are very fun shoes, the Cielo X1 is a little more flexible with different workouts. Another thing is when I run with the Cielo X1, my legs feel less beaten up the day after.

Thank you for another nice video. I have both as well and totally agree with you. the hooka is more innovated. Since the new balance is more traditional, super shoe. Also, both looking great but the hooka bit more beautiful for me

I ended up getting both so this was an interesting comparison! I am planning on running Boston in the Hokas but I have also done some fast 5ks in the NB’s. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either one. I’m like you: HARD TO CHOOSE 😮

Adding this comment before getting done with the first minute: I tried on both in the store. Was impressed with the SC Elite v4, but then tried on the Cielo X 1. Wow. I put the New Balance back and didn’t look back. The Cielo was just so energetic and fun. I might get the SC Elite v4 later, might not-or might get the SC Pacer v2 later on the year-but I went for the Cielo, and #NoRagrets!

Enjoyed the comparison, however, make it a trifecta by adding the Brooks Hyperion Elite v4 to this review. Regarding the Cielo, tried it, would continue to go with Rocket X 2.

Alpha 3 vs Cielo x1 please

Tried the SC elite V4 and it’s …ok. For the price it should be the Cielo, a better looking version. But it’s not, it’s an average overpriced daily trainer. I haven’t tried the Cielo but it’s been almost universally described as an actual “Race day shoe”. Even Fleet Feet doesn’t have the V4 in the race shoe category, thats not by mistake. I look forward to trying the Hoka soon. Lastly, I think everyone wanted a comparison because NB pitted these shoes against each other. The NB in fact should go against the Superblast instead, and priced similarly. An average runnner friendly shoe/stable/comfortable/do-it-all trainer. Great video as always.

So...is this like Bondi Xish? When is the Bondi X2 coming? Kinda heftier than I want to be atm...

I think I prefer the looks of the SC Elite. I secretly really wanted this video. Still debating on the shoe I am running my marathon in. Leaning SC Elite V4 to leave it on the NB family but also considering the Endorphin Pro.

I have the SC Elite v4. After a handful of runs, I consider it a good tempo day shoe, not a race shoe.

@MR-wh5wp What works best for my mechanics is the Saucony line. Pro and Elite are good options.

The SC elite V4 is very smooth and comfortable..the hoka is definitely faster even if it's heavier..I can see it's easy to go all out in the hoka..it really wants to go faster..

Would MUCH rather a comparison to the Alphafly 3 as it's probably the closest thing to the Alphafly 3 that's not a Nike shoe. Do what you will with that ☺️

Weight matters enormously. Lighter shoe for similar response and cushion always got the lighter one
