Which Shakey Head worm Is The Best? Crystal Clear Underwater Footage!
Спорт
We're headed back underwater to look at the most popular worms on the market! We've paired 8 worms up with a shakey head and a medium action rod to see which baits perform the best underwater. If you've wondered which worm you should try or why one works better than another, this video will answer a lot of your questions!
The combination of a shaky head and a plastic worm is deadly through the Summer months. The technique is incredibly versatile with retrieves varying from a slow drag to an aggressive snapping motion. The key to shaky head fishing is finding a worm that the bass are responding to. This video will help you understand the subtle differences in action so the next time you need to fine tune a bite or save a bite that's gone cold, you'll know which worm to turn to.
We love capturing underwater footage despite the inherent difficulties. We hope you enjoyed the footage as much as we did! Below is a breakdown of the tackle and equipment used in the video.

The Roboworm and the Keitech stood out to me. I've always stuck mostly to the Zoom so this was cool to see

Really liking the roboworm and netbait. Thanks for the video!
For shakey heads I use the Grande bass lures air tail wiggler the tail floats no matter what and tackle warehouse sells them

Same here, great set up and I use mine on a 6th sense head with screw lock. I also will use just a small amount of chartreuse marker on about a 1/4 to 1/2 for the tip depending on conditions.
Really wished you would have included the Zman Mag Worm (7-8”). They float tail up every time and last for many fish. They’re buoyant all day long. My shakey head bites went through the roof after I switched to these.
#1 KZread channel. Thank you for everything Matt and Tim!

#1 Bass fishing channel.
I really like the zoom worms and the GrandeBass airtail wigglers. They always float up!
The Senko looks like weekend at Bernies after watching how those others reacted.

Lmao. Looks a bit “labored”
Great video Tim!! I really liked the Roboworm, Easy Shaker and the Netbaits... I have the first two in my box for drop shotting, but I am going to pick up the Netbaits to try this summer. Thanks for the insight, very helpful.
Those same two worms drew my attention, in this line-up, and I have both of them but haven't used them much. Glad you did this video. Gonna change the batting order.
Could you guys do a video about fish handling, for those of us who know almost nothing about unhooking a deeply hooked fish and how to keep them healthy
@Zoomfluke
Жыл бұрын
Such a conscientious idea for a topic. For most of us on here that fish almost entirely for sport & respect it enough to be proud of a healthy C&R, the many themes of this topic shouldn’t go by the waist side. More important than any lures on your arsenal, are the tools to make sure you can unhook & release the fish healthy enough to thrive on! Plier tools, snag weights, different gear to unhook, how to hook a fish, fishing holding/handling, weighing, etc. all need to be made known to all anglers, & not just beginners. A true outdoorsman’s biggest pet peeve is to see someone disrespect the fragile & precious privilege of sport fishing. When I see someone holding a fish incorrectly, spending 30 fat & lazy seconds on a snag before cutting it at the most convenient length for them, leaving the hook in the mouth, etc…it makes me want to drag their actual ass out of my water way with an actual treble hook. Get a new hobby if you can’t respect this one. So yes, I’d love to hear some good advice on respecting the sport in all aspects.
Going fishing this morning 👍 thanks for the videos guys!!
You guys just keep posting the best bass fishing info out there. One day I hope to go out and fish with you guys!
I seriously love these underwater lure videos keep these coming.
Great stuff as always!
Thank you sooooo much, I’ve been wanting to see this for a loooong time
GREAT vlog Tim for sure. Robo worm had allot of float for sure.
I love the Netbait T Mac and the Super T Mac for Neko rigging.
Great demo of worm action.
Love these type videos!!!! Thank You
Awesome video! Thanks!
Always fun and interesting video!!!
That keitech was absolute money to me, next was definitely the roboworm
Thanks for the video very informative
I have 2 old faithfuls, the tried and true Zoom Trick Worm for the many techniques, for price point, quantity, and color variations. Then the Senko-types for versatility. But seeing this great comparable study. Hands down loved the Net Bait T Mac, the Robo Worm Fat Worm actions. Knowing they have a wide array of colors and price point is game on for my style! Wow!!! Thanks for the insight. Again, Nicely done, Tim! 👍🏼👊🏼
love the underwater footage guys...I've always liked the roboworms on a shakey head but lately I've been playing with the Berkley shaky snake and I like it alot
I love these underwater videos!!!
Sweet video fellas!!!
I will give it a try this year👍🏻
I fish senkos religiously but always wacky rigged and rarely texas rig/shaky head. After watching the zero movement it had with a shaky head i dont think id ever throw it like that again. The 2 that stood out to me was the zoom trick worm and the tmac. I like how they flutter and almost have a floating action on the tail. Great vid tactical bassin! As always informative with video proof. Your vids continue to help boost my A-Game, much appreciated my fishing brothers 👍
Once again Tim gets so excited lol great job, that's a lot of work to do, last worm my favorite 👍👍👊🍺🍻
Good video. My 2 favorites are the Keitech Easy Shaker and the Z-Man Hula Stick. Both stand straight up and have excellent tail shimmer. The hula stick has 4 tiny appendages that flutter. Both are excellent choices for a shakey head
Excellent footage. I would love to see the corresponding footage of you working the worm to create that movement. Great stuff dude.

He's just hopping them along. Not much to see and no one is really concerned about seeing. We want to see the action of the baits underwater, as that is all that's really important here....
Great video. Zoom Magnum Shakey Head works pretty good. That 6" Roboworm 👍
Your under water videos are awesome!
Some of those looked really good!
I usually throw a biospawn plasma tail and zman trick worm. Thanky for adding to my arsenal.
Some awesome cloud making going on behind you!
The Tmacs are a solid bait in my 4 plus decades of fishing, the “hookerz” shakey worm and the robo 6 inch straight tail have been unbeatable when it comes to shakey head fishing.
Love these videos!
Been trying the shacky head lately, thanks for some suggestions. 👍🎣
I really enjoy the underwater perspective of these videos-Thanks for posting 🤙🏻 I like using Bass Assassin Tapout worms-Theyvhave a ton of weird scent, soft yet somewhat durable, and the tail is made of floating plastic w/no salt.
Wow another amazing video 👊👊💯💯

Cool Video Matt.
"What I really liked was 5 outta the 6 worms used in this video"... 😆🤣 lol
Hello there. Fantastic video. I liked. Hope you can cotinue that way.
Berkley Bottom Hopper is my go to shaky head worm, sticks straight up and has great action.
Awesome video been looking for a good shakey head worm since berkley got rid of their shakey head worm.
I really liked the look for the Roboworm on the Shakey head more than any of the others. I use a Missile 48 and do really well on it. A strike king Ocho also does well when they want a bigger profile.
Zoom and Roboworm hands down. Great video Tim!!
I wish there was some zman elaztech stuff in here. I think it would stand up much better than the other worms.

@mitchellorr3922

With Zman, I don't use a typical shakey head. You can pair just about anything in their lineup with the finesse bullet hook and get the same kind of presentation. It's nearly impossible to get it stuck. That bullet will come through/over just about anything.
I think I'll try the robo-worm. thanks Tim.
That roboworm quivering looked sick
Great video Tim. I think the Roboworm, and the Flirt were killer. The T Mac was also very good. They stood up tall so fish could see them better. Some of the other ones sank too quickly for fish to see them.
For shaky head fishing my favorite worms are the strike king super finesse worm, Zoom z3 Trick worm which doesn’t have salt in it so it floats really well.
That might as well have been a commercial for robowor. Damn! That looked really good under water
Add the Hags Tornado to the list.....I love this Worm....it stands straight up, great colors, and shimmies with the current
Any chance of you guys doing a video of how to fish lakes or ponds with a mucky sludge bottom?

Fish weightless plastics or in the mid to upper water column. A ned or neko rig may not be too intrusive either. I've been doing well on bluegill/shad swimbaits in Texas recently, while my friend basically rips a jig off the bottom, to avoid getting clumped up.
@bassfishingwiththeantichri2921

Punch Fukker - Senko and Fat Ika. When you feel the bait get stuck just hold it there to feel for movement, if you don't feel anything, don't keep pulling. Give the bait some slack and use it to "pop" the bait out and over the obstacle your butted up against and resume fishing. The Ika can be rigged either way and if the senko needs some weight try going to a bigger size.

Depending on how much muck, a football head jig works great and creates a nice mud bloom when dragged on the bottom.
Roboworm, Keitech, and T-Mac were my favorites. Thanks for all the research y’all do for us. 👌🏻👍🏻

There are soooo many worms out there. We couldn't test them all. Maybe next time
A few of these looked good but for me it's hard to beat that fat Roboworm. I had a great spring with it on a shakey head. They are versatile, durable and great colors and flat out catch fish. Thanks for another great informative video.
If you guys do this again with other worms use Powerbait Shakey Snake, Yamamoto Cut r worm (the one with the small tail at the end), and the grande bass rattler. Good vid overall. There is also a guy I bought some home poured senkos that I was mad when I found out they floated and had no salt but I'm going to try those on a shakey head, mushroom head, or on a neko rig.
Anything net bait makes I have caught big bass on it great product !
extremely useful video....would have liked to see some ZMAN or elaztech strike worms on a shaky head...great stuff

@@240Sil They definitely have their space in the market but I dont think they are the best by any means. I think the slow float to the bottom that regular baits get definitely gets more bites in many situations. I dont use their stick baits ever. I use their lizard on a Carolina rig. I will say their ned rig stuff is okay overall. I dont like their craws texas rigged unless theres a ton of muck. You can make it so the craw is on the surface of the muck and your weight is in the muck. That's about the only time I use their craw.
ordered $200 with your link and recommendation, THANKS A BUNCH!

We're happy to help 👍
Nice video! Some real surprises there, both ways! If you do another one of these I'd like to see the Z-man FattyZ.
I have tons of them but to be honest haven't thrown a worm very much. I have started using them more this spring, rigged various ways, and my confidence level in them is for sure going up. Never really doubted the effectiveness of a worm, just always reach for smthn else..
Ionno Tim... I mean, if anything actually stood out to me, it's that the Daiwa Neko really really functioned like how a neko worm should have even though it was on a shaky head, and now I want to see a fluke-tail Daiwa neko worm on a shaky head _!_ dat roboworm did have some shmoooth moves to it, but the T-Mac is the one that had true wave-form funktion'n'flow. /bass-guitarist
Well, I was shockingly unimpressed with some of these, but the T-Mac and Roboworm really impressed me.
Hey Tim: Great underwater footage with this video very informative. Just curious though other than zman elaztech is there really any difference in durability between soft plastic brands? Thanks...🎣🤔😎🐝
I'm starting to use the Z man Finesse worm Z in the 4 and 7 inch....the Elaz Tech stands straight up in the water!!!
Would like to see ZMan tested next grouping. Liked that T-Mac, too
Have you guys thought about hosting a Tactical Bassin bass tournament? Do it a Clear Lake, people can come meet you guys. If you ever do, I’d be happy to be on the weigh in crew. Do a half day, with a seminar after.
Matt: so how many times do you want to say '' so lets take a look'' Tim: Yes

Big Bite looked best to me. Keitech impressed me too.
Sweet baits, guys! Do you guys Tokyo Rig often? Would love your take on that. Best of both finesse and power fishing.
Thnx scuba Steve
That T-Mac is one I’m going to have try down here.
That keitech looks great
Would be awesome to get you guys out Rib Tail Worm! Would be a another great comparison to all these great baits!
Thanks, crushed it on robo shakeys today
You guys should check out the bizbaits dizzy diamond great shaky head bait super buoyant and great action
You should try some of the trick worms from Radfish lures (which is a fairly local company). Their soft plastics float and have action like no others I've seen.
Grande Bass Airtail rattlers.?. Looks like robo/TMac action but larger. Outstanding tail action!!!Have you tried these Tim??
@tacticalbassin

I will have to check them out
The Net Bait looked really good on bottom. I really would've liked to have seen the zman magnum finesse
Hey Tim I'm glad no fish interrupted your test 😆 I'm going to pick the NetBait T Mac as #1 and the Robo worm as #2,,the Strike King Fat baby finnese as #3,,,The Yamamoto was a disaster and the trick worm was very disappointing.. Fellas y'all should look into getting your plastics from the little guys,,the guys that's not made a name for themselves yet but are putting out some top shelf products,,all plastics aren't the same and all plastics do not float,,look up bizz baits and Xcite baits for examples....
No swamp crawler? That sucks. But anyways, I thought the keitech, roboworm, and netbait all looked good. Honorable mention goes to the reaction innovations.
@tacticalbassin

It was on the list to film but didnt get to it.
Roboworm fat and keitech for sure. Those looked awesome. Low 60s water, is that still Cali? Water is in low 80s here in midwest. Love the underwater stuff!!
Would you recommend the E6X swimbait rod or the Dobyns Furry? Both will cost me the same.
I think worms can mimic anything! Worms "obviously", leaches, eels, snakes, minnows, caterpillars, helgermites, cray fish, over sized plankton and micro organisms. They all work so well because they look like everything on the menu
Not a good choice for the screw lock variant shakey head you're using but the Zman Mag Fattyz are awesome on a shakey head. I usually throw them on an Owner finesse head. Really buoyant and last forever.
Try out the grande bass airtail wiggler. You can also put a rattle in the tail and seal it with super glue so the tail still floats.
Take a look at the Netbait Contour Worm, it is super good on a shakey head
Maybe next time you could do mag swamp crawler. That bait is 🔥
my best results on a neko have been reaction innov flirt 6.9 , strike king kvd , roboworm fat , netbait t mac.
My lake is always mud brown and flooded. Rubber of any type rarely gets hits and I have used the same baits in other waters and they worked there.
Do a video like this on the Jackall Flick Shake please!
