It is a treat to see how much Neptune has grown over the last three years....he must really like your farm 'cause he is huge now.
That's an example of the 10,000yrs of genetics : when the bull put Dad in the feed-trough it was replaced, ie the aggressive bull didn't breed. That's how you arrive at domesticated livestock.
Haha ! I recognised Neptunes butt and yes if I didn’t know him i would’ve picked 2 anyway 👍 I’m 3 yrs late for this one ☝️
This was the first ever TPFL vid I ever came across and Ive seen every video since. Hasn't felt like over 5 years, channel and Tom have come so far in that time.
Around here, we are do both meat and dairy. Meat tends to be black angus, with a few reds and charlois mixed in.
It's weird watching your older videos when I'm used to your newer ones
Oh! Yeah! Quite the hindquarters on that one. I was going for number 1 from the first shots but once you got behind them , no question.
Try crossing your highlands with a belted Galloway you should get a good beef beast and hornless as well
Wow... a bedded box! Never seen one of those 😂 I’ll pick out my favourite bull in a minute...
Y’all are 😍 adorable and so much fun to watch!
I'd go with 2 because he has a nice big rear end
Tom, you a darn character, your videos are lovely, keep them coming my lord

Dr. Carr Thanks mate! I'm glad you like them 😀
Like following you keep up good work promoting UK agriculture and the difficult job of educating the great British public
Interesting to see how your Dad is getting more comfortable with chatting on the camera. He is great.
Thank you tom👍👍
The Angus Bull you chose was the best one of the two> Another interesting video top work both you and the Ginger Warrior
Haha how many times does your Dad want you to slow down in this video. Uncomfortable passenger alert 🤣
I’m the same age as your dad, and when he was telling you to slow it down I was so thankful. In Canada, on our secondary highways where speed limit is 80k look to be about twice as wide as what your driving on. And your driving a land rover or Landcruiser which I believe the owners manual says max. Speed is 55 mph, I bet I could roll one at 40kph.. so watching your vids when your behind the wheel “ is white knuckle vidjoe time”.. just sayin...and thanks ginger guy Oh yeh,, you were driving on the wrong side of the road !
hi tom that was a interesting video i enjoyed it great bull he will do is job 10/10 bob
love your videos wonderful .
I miss Neptune in your more recent videos. Was hard seeing him with a shattered shoulder. Another update on your new bull would be ace.
2:02 what he said to the bull
Love your dad.
Oh man, your dad’s brows! Caterpillars! Lol ❤️🙏🏻 don’t tell him I said so!
Hahaha I picked right lol. Poor ole Singleton wasn't too happy to be back home great video tom

I know this video is two years old but if you want a really good bull go to ray brown near macc we have had a few and the cows are really good looking and give allot of milk
I liked the highland love highlands there hairy and cute
I would have liked to know why you picked 2 over 1.? He looked leaner and muscled..
Good video beautiful bull

Neptune also has a bigger barrel so will be a better converter of forage - good for your system.

Better butt...more meat
I pick number 2 ☺
My favourite cows are Hereford I have four and show one like the vids
Do you just borrow bulls? Are you keeping pure lines i.e. Angus, Highland & Brown Swiss or are you crossbreeding as well?
Great vid
Number 1 because it will be easier to calf to the heifers
He's a beauty !! 🚜🚜👍🚜🚜
Your Pops looks like a wizard from Harry Potter 💯💯💯 😂😭😂😭😂😭

Nice looking bull
Good job
That angus bulls a beast
Is there a reason you don't AI? Then you could choose a heifer bull that produces calves with good rate of adg. You could also try different breeds of bulls on your cows which would be of interest to your subscribers.
#2 on the barbe cue,,,,
I like the ride to get the new Bull and I learned so much more of you landgranny 89
Hi tom nice looking beast when you slaughter do you only use steers for the shop

Number 1 was best choice 2nd bull better shape but the smaller would have threw better calves and not as heavy so be better on his feet
Highlands easier to get in calf in lesser condition. If in tip top condition they are more likely to miss than hit. The breed are naturally used to subsistant grazing not prime grassland.
Congratulations on both highland ‘s pregnancy . Neptune sure is putting on the pounds and looking real good . Dirty back side that is the one I would pick.
Number 2
I guessed right and just before you said. He's got a much wider back end or that's how it looked on film. Good luck.

Callum Currie They can be difficult to calve when put on heifers and that's what he will be up to mostly
Which one would I have chosen? Ah, well, these 'm country matters, young 'un! So I'd have stood there in my old green jacket and wellies, maybe chewing on a bit of straw, leant on the 5-bar gate, and for the next two hours, said: "Hmm. Arr. Yep. Urr. Ohh. Well... No... Hmm. Yes? Arrr... Hup. Eh? Nooooo. What? Ah. Y'see? Hmm." This has long been the approved way to resolve agricultural dilemmas all over the world (and elsewhere). The 2-hour time allowance may be extended to 3 if the weather's bad or an animal stands on your foot. The conversation works equally well in any country and any language - French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, Swahili, Japanese, Russian, Urdu, Eskimo, Klingon, whatever. The bulls under discussion can be cattle, camels, elephants, elk, buffalo, seals, or G'kk-arkh (it's a Klingon fighting ferret). You only reach a decision - and agree a price - a few hours later, in the pub. [Oh, and an Eskimo 5-bar gate is made from whalebone, in case you were wondering what they used instead of wood.]
I love that accent.
My neighbors run red Angus........ beautiful animals......much difference?
Interesting ✔️
Back at Roberts
We live like really near to there and bought a bull from there
Can you please do same rounding up cows
1
Does your Angus breeder use EPD's?(Expected progeny difference) When we pick bulls we look closely at the EPD's to help us match a bull to what we need in our herd. For instance, if we want a bull that will sire good replacement heifers we look for a bull that is high in maternal milk, with moderate birth weight, and high weaning and yearling EPD's. Also, does your breeder do semen testing and scrotal measuring?

nebraska farmer Hi there, we use that in our AI straws that we use on the dairy cows but with the beef, all we are looking for is beef for the shop. So not so much
@opinionsandaholes7437

But wouldn’t it still count, especially if you’re putting him in with heifers? You want a proven heifer safe bull, don’t you?
@TomPembertonFarmLife

OpinionsAndAholes we haven't done that for any bulls we have had before hand and the angus being easy calving it should be ok. The heifers are always a good size when they calve aswel

The big one
I had a Neptune blood line bull once. Didn't get a single calf from him. He got to fighting with another bull and broke him leg. I was so disgusted.
Surely a Angus with Highland cow, they'll be polled
number one
2 because it’s a lot more round in the back and it has a lot more muscke
I have a lot of AA
Limousin chosen wisely are easy calved

Jack Bell they don't really cross well with dairy cows
The bull on the right because he looks a little bit bigger
we just use one stock bull for the cows. ai for the first few weeks of may then bull goes out and all heifers ai with an angus. saves bother of keeping a few bulls

Angus by far, Marbling, ease of calving, ease of finishing, more weight per day. I could go on but I want. Sold all my Herefords and only use Registered Angus bulls on my herd.
That needs better sound and enunciation and diction if you want to see how I hear it just turn on the closed captioning and that is only slightly worse than what I hear. If closed captioning can't get it I am lost.
I like the bigger one
the second
