I've got a 2P. Climbs like a dream & has excellent penetration into wind. The acceleration is very flat too. Only issue with the wing is that its a pig to handle in strong winds, it was clearly built for forward launching in the alps. Glad to hear that they've resolved that

I've returned recently from Annecy with my new Ikuma3 + Hawk harness and a big grin on my face. Agree/share the same opinion with Carlo and Nancy. - this wing is great. Allowed me, in one of the last days, to spend 3h48m doing a big triangle pushing bar most of the time in strong thermal conditions and staying above my head solidly without much effort at all. In one of the glides decided to leave the brakes dangling and remove my gloves to video call my wife. After the call got really startled realising that I was still pressing full bar while holding my phome... 😅 A testament to how stable and how solid the wing is even in strong stuff.

Just bought the Ikuma 3, love the handling & feeling of the wing. Didn’t go for the P version, as I wanted something really solid and the light material just didn’t feel right 😅

🪂 Between us, Nancy and I tested the standard-weight Ikuma 3 in sizes 22, 24, 26 and 28, and the light-weight Ikuma 3 P in sizes 22, 24 and 26! 🪂 💺 As usual, we tested them with different harnesses (open, pod, standard weight, light, ultra-light) and wing loadings, to see how they flew... and so we could enjoy them even more! 🥰

I really like mine (normal version size 24). I load it up to 93/94kg and the handling is very nice. My only wish would be a higher speed overall. In that regard the mentor 7 felt quite a bit faster. Apart from that, it's communicative without being overwhelming, for me. I like it a lot!

Where do you think is the sweet Spot of the ikuma 3. Ist ist at the very end of the weight range or somewhere in the middle? Thanks

The 3p is very interesting, doesn't seem to be very popular in the UK. Can you compare pack size to Maestro 2 Light and Explorer 2?

More cells on Maestro 2 so Ikuma probably packs a bit smaller. But I'm super happy with my Maestro 2 Light!

What do you think will be the long term pro and cons of soft links vs metal mallions. Do you think they should be replaced every 2 years during gliders checks?

get normal version, and if that volume/weight is very important you can easily swap soflink for mallion

What do you think vs iota DLS ?

  • @paulleclerc5381

@@Jolafine I tested the iota DLS the same day as the Iku3p (and others hight B). The Iota is definitely more (too much for me) stable and less communicative. Even less than my Hook 6P. That matches with the brands behaviour, Niviuk one of the more dynamic vs the opposite : Advance. Personal point of view ✌🏻

In brief, Flybubble Nancy and I both feel that the Iota DLS and Ikuma 3 are fantastic high B wings! 🪂 Both are very sorted with great launch, feeling, handling and top performance! 👍👍👍👍 Hard to chose between these two great wings, however a key difference is the Iota DLS is semi-light whereas the Ikuma 3 and 3P are either standard weight or ultralight construction. 🪶 And of course the sizes and weight ranges differ, so one may suit better than the other for sizing, which is important! 🤓 For those who haven't already seen our review of the Iota DLS: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKSj2LSBfLHdac4.html
