During the CBJ's 4 year playoff run under Tortorella, they lost to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion 3 out of those 4 years and came within one game of it's happening in all 4. Most people fail to notice that.

Die hard Sabres fan here for 25 + years. The Toronto stuff is brutal and embarrassing as all hell. The problem for sure is ownership. Its fucking awful! This team has so much skill its crazy. And now we have a top 10 goalie. If we had that last year we wouldve easily made the playoffs. We had the hand going into the season and had a GM who was to scared to play it. If we added a couple pieces with some experience and actual skill we wouldve made the playoffs this year. The PP was atrocious. But we have a career 4th liner running it. He did well last year but that was because all our guys had career years offensively. Cozens hasnt been the same, mostly bc Quinn injury and I think that fight early in year showed him no one had his back therefor ruining confidence. Most of all, Granato HAS to go! Been here too long. Many rumors going around that he tells his players not to hit and save energy. We are awful team defense in our zone. We are incredibly soft. Power especially! Hope he grows out of that. We would be swept if we did make the playoffs anyway. Way too soft. Zero accountability. Its fun for these guys here because they can do what they want. Pegula wont let another coach be paid to sit at home. And Adams wont go get the right players to compliment the studs we have. I dont think were gonna make it next year either if thats the case. Go Sabs !

The Sabres haven't made the playoffs in a decade. Until they buck that trend, they hold the crown.

If they hadn't won it all in 2006, made the Final in 2002 and been such a good team here in the last few seasons you could consider Carolina for the bottom of this list. Not the absolute bottom but they had some really, really lean years not too long ago.

what about the Sens? Their most recent playoff success kind of looked like an accident, and over the last few seasons, they have found new ways to get worse every time people thought they could only get better. The whole Dorion debacle didn't make them look good at all either.

They came within a goal of knocking off the eventual champs in a g7 series conf final, thats not an accident And Buffalo didnt make it past the 1st round since 07 The sens havent been great but they’re faaaaar ahead off the Sabres

Buffalo has been around for 53 years and prior to this 13 year drought, they had only missed the playoffs 11 times. They had a long history of winning

AZ Coyotes is the biggest embarassment in all of pro sports. Despite getting massive and endless support from Bettman, the Coyotes managed to fail continuously. If every sports franchise had the same amount of chances the Coyotes had, there would bve no such thing as relocation.

Coyotes were Doomed with lame duck owner who could not sell them to the business or municiplaity community. The Jerseys are great, cool vibe, handfull of some excellant players. The owner & business community failed them...........what people want to watch hockey in a tiny area? freaking sad
