Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game released on Newgrounds in 2020.The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., which consists of Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of opponents in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay involves hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020.An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates continually released in the following months. A full version of the game backed by Kickstarter, titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is in development.

Legacy is amazing with actual lyrics, and exe actually tried to hide himself by trying to copy everything sonic would Meanwhile og exe is actually kind of nostalgic for me, I still love him, he does jump straight to the point in revealing himself (at least in encore) but the oh sonic.exe songs are still pretty good even after all these different mods
It's like comparing apples to oranges, a restored mod that wasn't finished versus a demo. Consistency wise with quality, the RodentRap demo does it well. It executes the fakeout so well that even KZreadrs were fooled. Meanwhile while the vs sonic.exe mod was great, it was... not exactly the highest-quality thing in the world, either.

Off topic, but why didn't the KZreadrs suspect that this is X? I mean, the wording, the pose, those were two red flags that they *should* have seen, right?

It does feel like a bit unfair of a comparison rn, as Restored isn't completed yet. Plus, both the mods go for different things and vibes, much like apples and oranges as other comments stated. That said, the songs featured are actually completed, so I will say I personally like Obituary more than Too Slow Encore. And I am very excited for both the complete releases of Restored and Legacy
You know, everyone should've suspected that this is indeed X. The pose he does, the wording, even the title screen saying, "RodentRap" is actually "RodenTrap", they're all signs that this isn't Sonic at all, and I noticed it first time playing this. I guess it's just me though, I still love the most nonetheless.
Rodentrap will probably be better when it is finished
Putting Rodenttrap/Legacy against Vs. Sonic.EXE is like putting a nuke against a shitty firecracker from the dollar store.

Well these 2 mods went for 2 different things. Legacy went for actual horror and erieness whereas the Sonic.exe mod just wanted to be a fun rep of the creepypasta. So to me its like comparing apples to oranges.
While very outdated comparison, I still think that Legacy does a lot of stuff right that most other exe Mods haven’t. In 3.0 restoreds case it’s mainly limited to what the OG devs had going on at the time. That, and the wishes of the old director Recently, some friends of mine have been working diligently to make sure that the new version of TSE is something worth replaying.

I mean Yes Sonic.Exe songs are good, but Legacy, is on a WHOLE other level cause it’s usually “Oh Sonic’s Back is turned and has dark voice, it’s Sonic.Exe 😒” but Legacy rickrolled EVERYONE playing the mod, we were so into it that we were blinded.
i can definativly say both have their Ups and downs. But both are perfect

"Which mod is better?" That isn't a fair question. Because one mod has controversy. The other one just has the controversial people.
