as a patient with 6 or 7 surgeries in a year, 100 days of hospital and rehab, it's really interesting to have an idea what I'm getting when a bag is hung! D5, then, is not enough for normal energy requirement, without other intake... plasmalyte i did not know, or its BSS nomenclature.
