Which is the Right Battery?

Ойын-сауық

Welcome back viewers and subscribers to The RC Plane Addict, a place where I can share my passion and addiction to this amazing hobby.
In this video I compare two different sized batteries to be used in my EDF jets. Let me know which battery you favor, and thanks for the support.

I run the rclipo 5200 4s in my ebuggy. Lightweight and low profile, plus great power makes them perfect. Only thing is theyre longer than conventional stick car batteries but i just made my tray longer and that was it.

Awesome flight The power to weigh ratio is greatly affected by swapping from 4000 to 6000mah. But looking at the ratio of gaining close to 2 more min if a modest increase.....

Thanks, I felt it for sure, but glad to add more flight time.

First, I can not complain about Hk's heavy duties....they work very nice on all my jets for years now, and many club members and friends fly the same type, no problems there either. But I understand that you are pissed that yours broke down for some reason ( I would be too, these things are kind of expensive). The difference in weight of the batteries would be interesting, numbers I mean, and lighter is often better, for take off, handling and the landing gear usually, so something in the middle might be the best...5000. And if you look for a light 6000mAh pack check out HRB. Their 6k pack weighs less than the 5k from HK i usually fly. And flying time also depends a lot on flying style, I'm sure you can push your 4k packs well over 6 min. If you are ok with a little more throttle management and a tiny bit less speed. Blue skys

War bird, thanks for the support. I should try to squeeze out a 6 min flight on a 4k pack, but let's be honest, what kind of uneventful flight would that be? I enjoy pulling the high speed passes, and the infinite vertical climbs, after all, what else are you supposed to do with an 80 EDF sport Jet? With that said, sad enough, a 3 and a half minute flight is all I am going to get from those packs for now. Longer flights on the 6k packs. Cheers.

That’s interesting!! What did you charge the battery to? 4.2v/cell? If so then that’s really awesome performance. Technically you can run down to about 3.2v/cell before causing damage so you could probably fly another minute or so easily and come out at 3.5v/cell or so and still be in the safe range. Awesome!!

I'm looking to pick up a few 4S 2200mah 50c lipos, have you tested any and do you recommend them??? Nice flying 👌 Those 4000's seem to work fine, good flight times 👍🏻

The yellow covered packs, i spent $200 on 3s & 4s from a friend's recommendation. GAVE em all away after the 2nd try. (I always cycle ALL my new lipos 5x each before being put in any plane. Ive always done that since i started using lipos. EVERY type battery.) Ive seen pilots' packs die way before 'normal' flight time is up.

Wow, that is the first I have heard about the Liperiors being bad. I am sorry for your experience. I hope that you reached out to the company for a refund, or at least to get the problem resolved. I have had no problems with these batteries yet (knock on wood). Hopefully, everything will be ok. Thanks for the support.

Maybe you can ask RCLipo why the 6000 weight is 850g and the 5200 is 875g. Thanks!

So apparently that is the way the engineers made them, and that’s the best answer they gave me. Go figure.
