Short answer antonov 225

Antonov max. payload is 247 tons, while A380 empty operational weight is 277 tons. That means Antonov can carry A380 like a space shuttle on its back after leaving A380 witout operational fuel :)

The A380-800 can carry 185 tonnes of cargo, but it doesn't have an open hanger, so that cargo has to fit on pallets, it can't be outsized. The An-225's record payload weight was 253 tonnes, and I have no idea if that was it's engineered maximum or if it could go higher. The titanium airframe certainly helped in that regard. It was designed to carry the boosters for the Energia inside the cargo bay, and the Buran Space Shuttle or the Energia core stage on it's back. Sure, the Super Guppy and Beluga XL have larger cargo holds by volume, but Beluga XL can only carry 50 tonnes of payload, which is only 1/5th of what Mriya was capable of. When it came to heavy lift, Mriya was king of the skies!

That 225 is a HELL of a monster no question.

My favorite plane is Antonov and it will be in the future too. It has 6 engines and it looks so exciting!!!!

I can see why it was built, (for soviet union) But it’s too big. It’s not necessary. It takes the team about 6 months just for 1 cargo trip. The cockpit is very old. And it was specially built for one airline, Antonov Airlines. 6 crew is too many to fly just 1 aircraft.

@@BlackEpyon All incorrect actually, largest payload owned by both the C5 and the Super Guppy for NASA, Largest payload capability is C5 Galaxy soon to be or now 777 9X, largest distance with payload C5, both the 380 and AN 225 "Dream" have huge take off weight but that is not necessarily a good thing lol, the problem lies with the engines for the Ukrainian aircraft among many other things, wonderful cool aircraft but very flawed as was the 380, the 747 800 and 900 are longer and can carry more for longer distances more effeciently and the 777 9X is on a different level, and i am not just blowing smoke i am an aircraft mechanic, i work on those engines and many aircraft, is what it is lol, AN 225 is a wonderful aircraft though, generally soviet in all ways haha

@@bauer.lufthans.7207 у Мрии свой специфический рынок, на котором она незаменима (сверхтяжелые грузы, крупногабарит) и которой очень мал. Т.е. одного Ан-225 хватало для всех таких заказов. При этом далеко не все аэропорты готовы принять. Для перевозок обычных грузов Мрия проиграет по эффективности и "Руслану", и тем более переоборудованном пассажирскому лайнеру, и подавно современным грузовикам ("Белуга", Боинг-F).

АН однозначно кращий)))

Good video, Airbus A380 is a passenger plane while Antonov AN225 is a cargo plane, both are best in their own class. A380 is technically advanced plane as Airbus started its production in year 2005, while Antonov built AN225 in the year 1988, both planes took to sky only after several years of Research & Development.

I love antonov an 225 is the king of the world

The range of the An-225 with a small payload is shown (the same 90 tons as the A380). And with a maximum of 200 tons of cargo, it usually flies 4500 km, because takes less fuel so as not to exceed a maximum take-off weight of 650 tons. And the engines are more gluttonous. By the way, the Russian "Volga-Dnepr Airlines" has long wanted to replace the D-18T with GE on its An-124, but Putin has been interfering all the time: it is at war with Georgia, then in Ukraine...

Yes and no. Indeed it was made by the time when Ukraine was in Soviet influence sphere, however Antonov was Ukrainian and that why He moved is Bureau to Kiev. Ukraine steel is 4-5% of world production and not that long ago for Russian Federation were servicing advanced Satan ICBM's.... Made in Ukraine SSR. Those "White Convoys" were taking to Russia manufacturing equipment - "on the way back"..... Ivchenko-Progress, Guidance systems, Turbines, Aviation equipment, ships and etc, were produced in Ukraine for Russia....

Wow, the Airbus has 11,240 more combined lbf with it's 4 engines (80,210 lbf each) then the Antonov has with it's 6 engines (51,600 lbf each). Crazy to think that these million plus pounds of planes can even get off the ground. Incredible engineering.

We all know that the AN-225 is a bigger than the A380 but what many of us don't know is that the A380 is considerably faster than the AN-225.

The Antonov AN-225 is bigger in all physical dimensions, except the tail height, because the Airbus A380 has one vertical tail while the AN-225 has two. If the tail surface area is compared, the An-225 is bigger. But at 1:50 there is a calculation error. If one U.S. gallon of fuel weighs 2.97 kg, then 300,000 kg (300 Mg) is equal to 101,000 gallons, not 78,000. So the AN-225 fuel capacity is still larger. BTW, if the AN-225 could be modified to carry passengers, it could carry over 1,000!!

Не в СССР и не в России. I do not argue about what nationality Antonov is. I said that the plane was made in the Ukrainian SSR - the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (now Ukraine). Served and operated in Ukraine. Not in the USSR and not in Russia.

The Antonov engines are way down on thrust per engine compared to the A380 Trent engines. Antonov - 51,600 lbf , A380 - 80,210 lbf Thats why the Antonov needs six engines.

Air Bus could have wanted to build something like the Antonov but for fear of bad propaganda, I think they opted to have the difference.

Antonov is a CARGO plane, AIRBUS is a PASSANGER plane, they are for different tasks, their comparing isnt correct, but interesting if paying attention on their gabarits. Also important when they were made.
