I got my hands on some vintage Ohio printed Bikes. Are they really as good as the pros say they are? I compare them with modern Elites and Standard Bicycle cards printed in Kentucky.
Let's open some packs and find out!

Thanks for doing a video like this and showing some similarities and differences in the decks. I’m with you on the useless free app ad that messes up the front of the tuck case. Why couldn’t they put a sticker on the cellophane? More work and cost, I guess. I bought some Turner Golds from Penguin last year for $5 each, and they are the Ohio ones. Penguin is still selling Turner Golds for that price, but maybe they’re not the ones from Ohio anymore. A new deck of Elites is definitely smoother all around than a brand new Gold deck. But the Bee stock of the Golds will smooth out and last longer than the thin crushed Elites. Looking forward to your next video on the Casino stock, and also would love to know more about your dribble technique. Cheers!

A sticker on the cellophane is a great idea. Wish they would do that! And good to know the Turner decks are back. They were sold out for a while. I know some magicians were buying out the stock. They feel smoooooooooth!
Got them both, just dropped out for the last 10 years and now im picking this up again. The Ohio ones are thicker and studier which explains why they last longer, but what i dont understand is that they claim to have used the same finish on both versions but the Ohio ones can retain its fanability for years (im using one that i opened 10 years ago and it still fans, marvelously to say the least) while the new standard ones got shrivelled up because of moist in like 0.92887 second.
I have a blue Gold Seal along with two standard red and blue decks, the quality of the Gold Seal is excellent, very different from the standard. Does it really come from the Ohio factory? It makes me doubt that more than 12 years have passed and those decks from the old factory still exist, also in the country where I live I got them from a local magic shop and they only have blue ones, the red ones are sold out or something like that.

I don't think that they come from the Ohio factory anymore. I believe that they are reprints. If you read the comments section from the various online retailers you will see that some folks confirm this. But there are still some real ones out there. You can tell by the cellophane and seal. The cellophane is more crinkly and you can tell that it's older plastic. Also the sticker seal gets a bit greasy looking.
Please do a video tutorial of your usual routines like could be series. (Dribble, Faro, Spring, maybe some of your go to packet cuts). Would be great videos.

I plan on doing some tutorial vids in the future yo! thanks for the ideas yo!
Appreciate your content man! Fairly new to cards as an adult (played loads as a kid but never really collected or did any cardistry). I was wondering if you might consider doing a “traditional cut” video comparison on the current cards on the market. It seems you have a lot of experience and i enjoy hearing your little musings about the hobby. Anyway just a thought as there is very little content like that i could find thats up to date. Props from the UK 😎🍻♥️♣️♦️♠️🃏

That's a good idea yo!
I didnt realize there are literally thousands of varieties of Bicycle Cards. I just buy Bicycle Cards from Walmart or Dollar Tree or Dollar General or Family Dollar and they have different designs all under the Bicycle brand every season. But they always have the usual red and blue standard Bicycle cards all year round.

Yeah! And they sometimes have different stocks or finishes too! Some are thick premium and others are crushed or sometimes they're just the standard bike stock.
About of Blank face card, it’s not only usable for Magic tricks, but also good for as a replacement(if one card is lost or damaged).

Nice! Heads up, I'm 87.65% certain that there are some reprints that were not printed in Ohio!
Wait so the Richard Turner decks are Cincinnati made? All of them, or should I look for a v1 or something?

Yeah I believe they're printed in Erlanger now. What you wanna look for is the OHIO address printed on the side of the tuck box or on the bottom side of the tuck.

Btw when they say it comes from Richard's collection it doesn't mean they're from OHIO. The ones from his collection are also modern. I think even the reprints have the OHIO address on the side.

The way aren’t reprints. They were however, different from blue seals. These were made with Bee stock which was slightly ‘thicker’ and stiffer than conventional bicycle stock. But they were all printed in Ohio.
