    I was browsing the different planners online during the break we get the middle of my fourth year Japanese class. I was about to put an English version my cart . What I didn't know was that my sensei was behind me, " You're not getting the English version, are you? " And now I have the Japanese one lol.

    The weekly seems like it would make an excellent budget planner. Writing down bills and paydays in the monthly view, to-dos in the weekly left hand view and leave the right page for listing purchases, gifts, and earning for that week, then using the last couple pages to keep track of savings goals, wish lists, gift ideas, and/or a yearly overview of earning, saving, and spending.

    Useful video when faced with the difficult decision of which to buy and which is best for you. I’ve used the Weeks for the last 3 years as my mini journal and its portability is great when travelling. The Japanese pages have some useful stuff including the Japanese era/Western calendar conversion chart, pages to fill in for emergencies, and a nice page suggesting different writing styles to make things more fun.

    Great comparison! I've been using a Passion Planner for 6 years and I love it - but the Hobonichi Techo Cousin has stolen my planner heart. It has everything I already love about my Passion Planner PLUS full daily pages (I usually have to write my larger daily lists etc on separate paper because there just isn't room in my weekly spreads), and it doesn't have stuff that I never use in my Passion Planner (monthly reflection pages). And I'm obsessed with the super thin paper. Serious ASMR satisfaction. Now I can't wait for September when the 2021 planners come out!

    I ordered my first A6 English version. For over 2 years now I’ve been using an A6 stalogy as edc. I do keep an A5 at home for the other stuff I don’t need to carry with me. The only problem I see for me right now maybe is the freedom I have. I put a lot of things in the back of the book, hobo doesn’t have empty back pages so I have to figure something out. I may have to cover some of them. We’ll see, but it’s my first time too with Tomoe river paper. I’m excited. Thanks for the over view.

    Thank you so much for this video! I was so confused about the differences between the Cousin and Original, and I was looking for a video like this, so thank you so much! I want to buy a Hobonichi for the new year (yeah, I know, I'm a bit early), but I don't know what it's perfect for me. The dimension of the Original it's ideal, because I don't have much to plan, or write (plus, I have a handwriting on the small side), but I need a weekly spread like in the Cousin. I think now I have to think about the price difference. If the Cousin is less expensive than buying Original + Weeks, I think I'll go with the Cousin. The size will make me carry a bigger purse, but I will have only one planner at a decent price. I read on their page that this year there will be an english version of the Cousin, so that's a plus (even though as a japanese learner, the japanese version is good for my reading). Argh, I'm so undecided! But, anyway, thnak you so much for the video! I like it!

    Very nice video! I started out years ago with the Techno but I didn't like the lack of a weekly feature and it got heavy. I did get the add on green weeks book but overall it was too cumbersome and a hassle to use. Plus, I never filled in all the daily pages. I went to the Weeks and I love. Easy portability but I too wish the paper was brighter! It's really done well for me and I already have my 2021. I tried the Jibun Lite last year for tracking and didn't really keep up but I think this year I am going to size up in the Jibun to an A5 Kit- purely for home journaling, tracking and creating while I will continue using Hobonichi Weeks for day to day scheduling. THe Hobonichi Cousine [A5 is too similar to the Hobonichi Techno which I didn't end up loving. I prefer the built in features of the Jibun A5. Not crazy about their colors though. I like the monochromatic look of the Biz model but I want to get the Idea and Life booklets and expand my home journaling in that way. Again- thank you for a clear, concise and helpful video!

    I fell in love with the hobonici techo A6 english planner recently but was heartbroken to learn the english book is only A6 size. for me, that is just too small, especially now that im no longer in college and have room and time for bigger notebooks. ive got a lot to put in a notebook! for the cousin- did it being in japanese ever bother you? you can't read the cute inspiration quotes, which is one of the things i liked about this brand particularly. You mentioned not using the extras at the back, but im sad i can't read them. Ive used a weekly planner for the last two years and when i saw all the room and the graph paper that these journals offered (i really don't like lined paper!), i knew it was time to switch. I like being able to journal and jot down what i did that day, or just fill it with stickers if i have nothing to say. do you recommend the cousin, even if i cant read most of the book?

    This year's planners (2019) are sold out unless you order from the hobonichi store itself, but if you are talking about 2020 I would say keep an eye out for restocks especially Jetpens. There's still a long way to go before 2020 hits so if planners are already sold out this early, they will most likely be ordering more! IF you plan on getting a whole bunch of items like accessories, it may be worth it to just order from the hobonochi website. Shipping starts at $20 but things are way cheaper there vs the items here on US websites where shipping is low or even free but items are more expensive as a whole.

    I just purchased my first Hobonichi a6 English planner. I’m so in love!🥰 I just purchased the planner by itself. Is a cover really needed? I hope it’s sturdy enough to last on its own all year. 😬

    I would say that it depends on how much you take it with you. If it stays at home or the office it won't need a cover. And if you take it with you on the go as long as you are careful with it you should be fine.

    @@MandyLynnPlans also, I dig the video. Moire is interesting, it's from the pixels crossing over a pattern on such a way, like two window screens in front of one another. The good news is some cameras put in moire filters to block that, but they overall make the image less sharp. So you seeing moire means you don't have that filter, which is how I prefer it. I'd rather deal with occasional moire then constantly less sharp video. Thanks!

    Hi Mandy. I would personally lean more towards the A5 because I have large handwriting. First of all; though, I can’t even find the official Hobonichi Store website. Secondly, I would love a cover for it but I do not like the fact that it is Nylon. Lastly, I don't even know how much they cost so I don't know if I could even afford it.

    Mandy, please advise where to purchase my Hobo Avec for 2021? Last year I bought it from the directly from website but it was stressful and confusing? Do you think that’s the best price?

  • @MandyLynnPlans

    @MandyLynnPlans

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Maria, I personally shop direct from the site each year, but it's not always the most econoical choice. It depends on what all you have to purchase. Shipping is expensive, yes, but the prices from the Hobonichi 1101 site are cheaper on the actual products themselves. Other retail stores have to make up the shipping somewhere, so they usually raise the price quite a bit. I think that if you are going to purchase several things, and maybe a cover than your best bet is to go with the website. You also get the exclusive freebies that way too! But if you are only getting one book I would suggest waiting until somewhere like jetpens.com has them in stock. I think I saw somewhere that they would be available on the 8th, but don't quote me!
