I’m a tennis player myself, in college at the moment, so I too would like to answer this question even though I’m not a pro as they are. For me, it would be Jascha Heifetz (I’m also a violinist). How could I not want to be someone with such God-given talent? He was friends with great composers, he played under Toscanini and learned under Auer. That man had an amazing life!!! Piatigorski would be cool too. He also married a Rothschild, who in her own right was an accomplished sculptor and world chess champion!

Back in BJK's day the women's tennis tour was a shadow of what it is today, not just prize money but infrastructure, facilities, being taken seriously. BJK did a lot to increase exposure with that famous match against Riggs.

Tennis players are soft and feminine. Pretty sure the answers would be very different in case you asked boxers or MMA fighters. They wouldnt have said Freddie Mercury, Billie Jean King, Da Vinci or Michael Jackson. They would have said Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Napoleon Bonaparte or Peter the Great.
