Hey man- this video came at a great time as I recently got a T7 drive to run with Logic Pro X project files/3rd party sound libraries and I’m glad to see you include the Velcro tip. I was initially hesitant but you’ve had success using yours- as in you didn’t feel there was any risk of damage to the drive.. or your MacBook depending on if you consider the adhesive damage… Regardless, thanks man- love the chill energy as always and respect your grind here on KZread. -Matt

Hey Taetro, could you make a video about some music theory for composing a chord progression with a guitar? I love the guitar bassline from your videos with Dolltrick

Sandisk drives have been going through a scandal the past couple years where they've had an extremely high rate of failure yet instead of addressing it they have just aggresively been marking their storage down to look appealing to those out of the know. I encourage everyone looking for an external drive to do some research or just avoid altogether.

SanDisk was once a decent name to trust, or so I thought. Now I wouldn't go anywhere near. Truly awful.

So I bought one of these because I didn't quite know/understand that all the NI libraries they are hundreds of gigabytes.... then I have come into other problems - downloading a library straight into external HDD is a pain in the ass and what's the worst is that when recording something on Ableton FROM external HDD I have come across some silly issues which makes me think that I have spent lots of £££ for nothing.

Can you also use iCloud or Dropbox instead of external SSD’s? Can you VST’s license also sync with iCloud? Can you put samples, vst libraries and projects on iCloud and access them and use them within Logic? Do projects automatically sync on iCloud? Can you or someone give me some information?

If I have already installed everything in my computer, would I be able to easily move them (Plug-ins and samples and licenses) over to the Ssd?

  • @Taetro

It’s easy to copy files over, and change the directories. If you try to open a project you’re already working on, you may need to relocate the media, as it will be looking for them in the old location. But going forward with this system, you won’t have to do that for new projects

So with all the space you save on your computer from storing on your external hard drive, what do you actually save on your computer? 🤔

@@Taetro The apple store only sells the Lacie Drive - im gettign stressed by the many sites reviews and videos which tend to focus on Ipad Pro .(whihc has higher power and can power devices) My absolute need is to create Ableton based wav files on a Windows PC and then transfer them to my 10th generation iPad 2020 10.9 version USB c - ive been going around in circles for months - im afarid to buy something that doesnt work . I need a desk SSD for my Kontakt libaray and Project files - the "go between" drive needs to eb compatible with PC and ipad - I see that the Lacie website mentions this as a specific feature - the only one I believe - your video has helped . I had hoped thta toshiba and samsung produced something similar (Lacie is a subsidiary of Seagate ) -- any other info ? Thank you

If you’re just looking to transfer wave files, even a usb thumb drive would work. Overall, don’t stress it any longer. Buy what you think is right and if it doesn’t work, return it.
