As a former Dyna owner/rider, I've got to say your boy's bike's looking good👍.

I think so too! Thanks
I have had really loud exhaust before, your so spot on about if you really put miles on, loud exhaust is that last thing you want. Ear plugs are horrible and if you need to wear them, well that pretty much says your exhaust is too loud!

I like air plugs because of the wind on the motorway.Wind noise is exhausting on a long run
I did my due diligence and did the research on the different baffles. The louvered baffles as torque and I'm thoroughly impressed with the sound with the hideaway headers.
I’ve got the road sofa it’s stiff I’ve put over 4000 miles on it. It’s getting better for sure. Definitely like the quieter ride on the long trips. No droning sound.
I rode a hot rodded Victory for ten years that I did much long traveling on(80k miles), its exhaust would really get to me after awhile. I went to a Goldwing last summer and I can't believe how much nicer touring is not having to have that howling exhaust in the background.
Louvered baffle is the best. For sound and performance because having the cat in still. Still has the backpresure you need
They all sounded very close John, but like you, the way it is configured right now, I believe the louvered set sounds the best.
Louvered baffles sound awesome.. that bike is coming along nicely . Looking forward to your big trip with Sandy to watch.
I've been saying that all along about a crazy loud exhaust. You are finally listening to me. 👍👍
Nice explanation of the exhaust options. I now see you have grown up and liking your windshield and quieter pipes combined with a comfortable seat. Preserve your hearing, the military was hard on my ears, not fun…. Safety first, best possible lights and then dress it up to your hearts content…
You got me with the “Ass Pressure “ 😂🤣
John - try the HD SE Stage-1 and Stage-2 (SE M8-511 Cam). With HD SE tune, you'll have (at the wheel) 119.5hp @5440rpm & 131.02torque @3920rpm. Stock, you have (at the wheel) 94.04hp @4640rpm & 118.45torque @3920rpm. That's a gain of +25.46hp & 12.57torque, at the wheel, while remaining compliant & keeping warranty intact. I'm confident many of your subs would find this content interesting. Tom M. I have it in a 24 RG and it rips!!! Coming from a 22 RGL with a CR480 making 118hp and 132tq. The 24 actually feels a little faster!
Black Jack sounds different in your drive compared to being on a ride but still sounds great. I've had new and used bikes that I have put 50,000 miles a year on and in all cases the seats were a little uncomfortable for all day riding at first. After a couple of long rides they become comfortable which I believe was not the seats breaking in but my ass breaking in! To me it was like doing a new exercise which makes you feel sore at first but after a couple of times it's no problem. Ian P.
I added the Khrome Werks 4.5 slip ons to my 2021 CVO Street Glide with the baffles you chose. Great construction and they sound real good. A little more deep sound without being annoying. I love them.
I run Louvered in mine and I like it. I also experienced better throttle response with the louvered on a stock engine.
the HP Power + and the Louvered sound the same to me. the reducers sound louder and deeper like you said. I would probably rock the reducers for daily use and swap them out with one of the others for a long trip if the reducers are too loud (especially after you put a stage 2 in).
hey John.. the best sounding baffles I ever heard on KZread are the ones your buddy Rob put on his bikes.. tab performance with the zombie baffles.. blows these Khromewerks away..
According to master mechanic Kevin Baxter, louvered baffles are the best to stop reversion, open smooth baffles will make the bike run rich, which creates other problems, he says smell your oil, if it smells like fuel, you're running rich.
great vid👍 i had the same problem with the exhaust 2 loud or 2 silent i am using since 20 years the jekyll and hide exhaust system the system give u the freedom 2 chose how loud or how silent u wanna ride!! It’s a great system 👍👍
I've been using the louvered baffles on my 21 SG for the last 3 yrs. The KW chrome still looks new after 3yrs. BTW! Blackjack is what I call my 21SG. Named after the color Blackjack Metallic.

I switched from louvered to the HP plus a.k.a. spoon baffle on my 124 and noticed a good amount of pull off idle, better than the louvered. And the benefit I could hear my radio better lol

I did like the second set of baffles
Performance baffle is the way to go for same sound you have more torque at the bottom.
Totally agree about loud pipes. Fun in town but . . . I simply can't take it anymore on a long ride.

Started my 18 year old life in CH-46 Helicopters and flew for 4 years as a Crew Chief. Got my first Harley at 21 with drag pipes...also my 2nd and 3rd Harley had drag pipes. My 4th Harley was a 09 street glide with 3 inch Reinharts....my present and maybe my last bike (I'm 64) is a 2019 CVO Limited with 4" Reinharts..I go from NJ to Tennessee and love the sound. I never get sick of a loud Harley-Davidson. I'm a inch away from replacing my 4 inch Reinharts with 4.5 inch TAB Zombie bam sticks..I LOVE THEM ZOMBIE BAM STICKS AND ALL MY RIDING IS HIGHWAY. I went crazy on you tube looking for a set of new slip ons that made this bike sound like more like a Harley and that was my pick. The Reinharts are great. I'll keep them should I get sick of the tabs. But based on my history of loving noise....I think they are my new go to.

@@michaelwhite5834 omg ship engine room....I applaud you..Tough duty. Thanks for your service. I was on the USS Inchon and Sipan back in the 80s. I couldn't sleep in my assigned bed due to the ships movement so I had my "Mom" send me a hammock. I would sleep on deck in my Helicopter and the boat would rock and roll but I would stay still. Lol Ride safe Sir. All the best!
Great video. I was hoping for a no baffle start up. I have TABs now and I’m sorry I did not go KW or even CFR’s. Used to love CFRs on my 16 SG. I hear ya on a nice quiet ride. But I am old lol 59. Thanks again for your content. Great channel.
It’s amazing how many people are negatively opinionated on what you do on YOUR bike…. Ridiculous. Do what you wanna do on your bike man, it always looks amazing.
I always heard that "needs to break in" about the road sofa. I loved my from day 1. I've put 17k miles on it so far and its still holding up great.

I've never owned a saddlemen but I've owned a LePera and a Mustang seat and both needed a little break in seat time before they both provided their maximum comfort, not a thousand miles mind you but at least a hundred or so miles. Every seat and rider is different though.
I have a twin cam with some Reinhart slip on and it is fun till it's not. Soon as you hit the throttle and take off it is fun. But, moments later into ride it drones and gives headache. My M8 107 OEM is bliss. Quite and sounds great. Still hear and feel just enough power for me. But, I am old now to so there's that.
Would be nice if you could set up the exhaust like a big block with muffler bypass valves. Open- straight out Closed- through muffler baffles.
I think maybe the louvered sound the best. I got he Klockwerks pro tour 13.5 windshield. Looks and works perfect. At 6'2 its the perfect height. Brian put a video out on it on his website. Check it out if you havent.
All that sun and you hold baffles in the shade,... I can't see shit 😂
I feel ya brother, my vtx1800 is crazy loud! Earplugs are a must for me!
1st one No Way. Reducer Better. 3rd one better than the other 2. All pretty tame.

Yes they do
Definitely the louvers
I put the reducers on my bike today. Have 5,000 miles on mine with Khrome werks the entire time. 2,000 miles with no inserts, another 3,000 with the hp plus inserts. Just put about 20 miles on with the reducers. I can say for sure the reducers have more bark than the hp inserts and are more crisp than with nothing in the mufflers at all. Feels like the torque is down slightly with the reducers but I’ll need to ride it some more to know for sure.
Great points! Early on, I wanted loud. Now, I just want a little something past stock, for performance, but still hear the stereo. I may be getting old, but I also like my neighbors. LOL
On my 24 I run with no baffles. Sounds much deeper and louder

Louvered baffles sound the Best. Enjoy!
C'mon guys, John is obviously out here working his a$$ off giving us content until the aftermarket opens up. 123K subs and ONE EIGHTY FIVE likes!? We can do better than that!
I think the reducer sounded the best
I'm interested in the 2 into2 chrome
best thing i've done on my HD is slip ons, vance and hines. and the saddleman seat. keeping it mostly stock is the best thing i've done. the saddleman seats i've had on both my HD'S did not need break-in time. they have been comfortable from day one. i don't get that break in time for seats, but then , I"m only a 170 pound guy.
Louver baffles sound the best stock. Now for loud pipes, it’s comes down to how loud they are. There’s a good loud and an annoying loud exhaust. And then like me have full exhaust but I wear ear plugs as well as have my Sena and listen to music fine and still hear surroundings and bike. And if you don’t wear ear plugs um your crazy and your going to lose your hearing and really annoying even in short rides with a loud exhaust. I’ve don’t it without ear plugs and man ears are muffled, head hurts. No thank you! And you use the stereo for music, yup ear plugs will not work but hearing is at risk. To each their own. And I recently responded to professional monkey that a stage four is not for everybody and the percentage is low. Main riders stay within stage one a a few percent due to stage two. And look your finally going to stay at a stage 2. Hmmm lol Ride safe god bless
The louvered baffles sounds better… I have them on my bike.
You need Tab 50 Cals with the zombie baffles. They arent real loud on long trips. But can be loud when you want them to be! But I understand about an 11,000 mile trip. that would be a different story for sure! And the stock windshield really sucks but looks good. I went with the HD 10" windsplitter and it works great. The look is growing on me.
yes sir, riding long distance is enjoyable for me because I don't have loud pipes on my M8 Road Glide S!
Nice review keep up the good work Cycle Fanatix
Louvered!
Go with the CR483 👌
I have the ripper baffle insert on the left side and the Louvered baffle inert on the right. Someone told me to try this and it’s been 6 months and I still love the sound it’s perfect better than what you have tried in this video. Trust me and try it. But to be honest we shouldn’t have to go through all that to get good sound out of the box. That’s where I’m disappointed in KW. Rineharts sound way better out of the box.
Bro take the baffles out

Lol your so right!
I think you hear the music better with the ear plugs in. Cuts out the wind noise and also stops ears from ringing when you’re doing 600+ mile days for multiple days in a row just to get from NY/NJ to where it’s actually nice to ride.
Are you going with gripper material like the seat on the Dyna? 👍
For some reason, pipes are lot louder with clutch on, try it!
I dont have any baffles in mine. It was that way when i bought the bike. Im looking at the louvered baffles. I have the same khrome werks 4.5 HP slipons on my 2020 street glide.
Try the Jekill&Hyde exhaust!
How much for the Chrome Exhaust?
Tabs 4.5s with zombie baffles on my Cvo st. Sounds like heaven
Pipes don't fit 2017 M8 ?🤔 18-24 only?
Sounds like a good plan! Comfort is key on a long trip along with coffee holders and back rests leave the cool stuff for the youngins!! LOL
LOUD PIPES ARE COOL AND SOUNDS GREAT, BUT YOU ONLY GET ONE SET OF EARS👂🏾👂🏾YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE OUT A SET OF BAFFLES, BUT NOT YA EARS LOL. ONCE YA HEARING IS GONE THAT'S IT🦻🏾🦻🏾. ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO JOHN. KEEP THEM COMIN BRUTHA 👍🏾👍🏾
John, the stock baffles that come in the pipes sound the best.

Yes, of course. Absolutely you have to tune the bike.
I had the performance baffles in the KW pipes on my 2019 RG, and will probably add them when swap head pipes on this 24'. Tones it down, but does it ever boost the performance. I have to admit, the reducer sounded mean with the stock header.

Love my tab 50 cal with zombie baffles!
I wouldn’t run the baffles until you get a catless head pipe. With the cat in head pipe it has plenty of back pressure.
Are you planning to run bag guards on this one?
Good morning from Calgary Alberta Canada John. I sure might be interested in the black version of the Khromeworks exhaust you have for my stage 2 475 s&s roadglide limited
Great video man, very interested in your black slip ons. Can't seem to find the right link to your email. Thanks

I miss the roar of Mad Max.
Do you have the exhaust system? If so I would like to grab that from you, if no one has claimed it.

So being aware of the “F-All Americans” BIdenomic “strategy” just might be having a detrimental impact on your purchasing power is key to planning your Harley build. Excellent point.

I 100% agree about the loud pipes my current bike gets a bit much sometimes so when I get my cvost I’m just going to run Khrome Werks mufflers.
Tune is out. I have the CVO ST with full Bassani full length exhaust. Tune installed by Harley dealer. At 500 miles will have dyno tuned.
This video was really awesome. You working on the bike and talking was really cool. It seemed more off the cuff than normal. Either way, always love the content brother.
They all sound good. But I’d say do a remix pulling in the clutch the ‘24s don’t give you a full throttle rev in neutral otherwise.
