My daughter is getting married soon. I went with her to many places to try dresses. We had a lots of fun and she looked gorgeous in every dress she tried on and I gave her my opinion with each one but not in a million years I would be so disrespectful to meddle in her choice and pressure her to choose what I want. I had my choice for my wedding dress and it was black. Nobody could talk me out of my choice so why would I ruin my daughter's choice for her wedding dress or groom for that matter? Some mothers are just too much to handle!

Yes the something new was so bridal and made her look very stunning, very classic and was extremely flattering, but the something borrow I’ve never seen a wedding dress like that before.

I believe the show makes the brides choose a dress and keeps the dress that isn't chosen until after the wedding day.

Usually when people complain about the borrowed dress I think they're not giving it enough of a chance, but this one really is horrendous. The colour just makes it look old and dirty, the design looks cheap and tacky and the silhouette makes her look completely shapeless.

I agree 100%. Her mother"s dress was ugly as heck, especially that blue tail, I couldn't understand why they put that color in the dress. And to me, she looked matronly in that dress. There was no contest between the dresses, her figure looked absolutely gorgeous in the new dress.

My biggest problem with the borrowed dress was the lack of tailoring and attention to detail. It looks like somebody who just learned how to sew made it. The seams didn't sit down, it wasn't nicely darted and it did nothing for her figure. And the little train look like an afterthought.

That's actually the issue with most of Kelly's dresses Like for example the one made for that one muscular girl (iirc?) fit her hips so awfully

I really did not like the something borrowed at all I thought honestly it looked horrendous. I loved the new dress it made her curves look devine. But her choice. Not trying to be disrespectful but thats my opinion.

No way, the borrowed dress is unflattering on every level, cut, colour, design & just matronly. The first one was so flattering on her figure, making her look slimmer & was modern & stylish as well!

The borrowed dress is amazing...... for a greek theme costume party not for a wedding dress

Fair enough - but i'm not too sure that she didn't do a good job.. What crossed my mind with regards to the outcome was - (just my thoughts) - i don't believe the sitiation was - they handed over a dress and stated 'just make something new out of it and surprise us' ... My believe is that the bride had her whishes, discussions (what is possible) there were fittings - in the end it's a show ;)

Yes the clip doesn’t show the design consultation, the bride wasn’t into mermaid figure hugging style before she tried something new. So Kelly probably designed to the brief.

The borrowed dress makes her look heavy in the top. The first dress however, she looks stunning in it; it escentuate all her curves. I was "wowed".

The golden dress is so beautiful...and the color looks awesome on her skin tone..the white is just like lots of other wedding dresses..

The second dress...without the blue tail it could be used as a reception dress but that blue tail makes it unfit for all occasions

Part of why brides mostly choose Something New on the show. The new one is so them and it actually fits.

I must say the something borrowed dress looks amazing on her the colour just compliments her skin colour gorgeously it’s amazing like I like the something new as it does show off her curves but the other just really suits her and makes her stand out so much more and looks amazing in it well she looked amazing in both but I just think the something borrowed really made her look gorgeous as it complimented her so much ❤️

why doesn't she just do one for the reception and one for the actual wedding?

Cause then theres no winner for the show. No matter what they have to pay for the borrowed dress I believe.

I really liked the first dress for her - it accentuated her figure nicely. The second is maybe not too flattering for her figure (like we all have different body shapes, not every cloathing style fits everyone) - at the same time it's got a huge meaning to mum and daughter which i think is lovely - and the amendments (basically a new dress) are really nice, a lovely wedding dress and it's not just bought in a shop and trend of the year... The only thing i didn't like too much (but its just 'my personal likings' ) is the cleavage - for me a bit too much. All the best for her marriage.

Poor structure on the remade dress makes her look dowdy because too much fabric and no support for the bustline.

I would've loved to see her in the new dress with the belt from her mom's dress, but I totally understand why she chose the heirloom dress. That connection to her parents is priceless.

the new dress is so gorgeous...it looks pretty on her.

The something borrowed dress was not nearly as flattering. But I understand the connection with mom too.

It seems like I'm the only one who likes the "something borrowed" dress better. Yes, it is not trendy nor bridal but I like the feeling of it. I absolutely love the colour, not such a fan of the blue but it has such a deep meaning to her. I feel like the dress she chose is somehow timeless. It reminded me a bit of the end of 18th century/beginning of the 19th.

I literally shouted "wow"when she came out in first dress.

When looking at the thumbnail i honestly thought the borrowed dress shown was the before. I’m shook 🤦🏾‍♀️ horrendous

I think that redesigned dress is ghastly. And I love vintage, but what the hell is representative of her culture is there in that dress??

Omg I can’t !!! The first dress was absolutely stunning on her I’d kill for her natural curves , that beautiful waistline of hers !!! Wow that dress fit and flattered her to perfection. What a gorgeous figure she has !!! But to wear that hideous dress that’s completely unflattering in every way is such a shame . She’s a very beautiful lady so at least that will shine through

A better bra would have made the dress she chose fit better.

I couldn't agree more! A better foundation garment will make all the difference! Whatever she was wearing didn't have nearly enough support for her generous bosom.

This is the first time I ever thought that she actually should pick the new one, I think the borrowed one makes her look bigger than she is and it doesn't look like a wedding dress

Only thing good about dress 2 was the rhe sleeves. She looked heavier in the second one, it's not a bad thing but it didnt really look bridal nor close to the Latin heritage

The borrowed did not do her justice.

Usually, I love the something borrowed because they are unique and beautiful while the dress she chose is that the new dress was perfect on her figure. Her mom's reworked dress didn't even look bridal. What really matters is how she feels in it.

Maggie Sottero's gowns are almost always stunning. Even a fit and flare, like the one tried on here, is breathtaking with its lace covering, demure sweetheart neckline, and cinched waist with corseting details. There is no question that this dress flattered the bride better. However, the Greek-inspired dress was so gorgeous, and had a history with the bride's mother. It also went with the bride's profession better. With that deep connection, I don't think I could pass up the borrowed dress, either. Ultimately, weddings are about family and creating new memories, without letting go of history.This was a very touching episode.

This is the first one I really dislike. Yuck. The new one really flattened her.

She really has an amazing silhouette!🔥 I said the same thing when I went to try on dresses: “I don’t want mermaid”! But I was open to trying it & fell in love with a fit & flare😅 You really never know what you’re gonna pick!

She should have saved the something borrowed dress for a singing performance. That could have been special too. The new dress was so beautiful on her.

It's a pity they never achieve a great silhouette with the "borrowed" gown - the bride looked and clearly felt more beautiful in the new gown - in fact, when they showed the two dresses side by side, it looked like a "before and after weight loss" comparison.

Both look incredibly beautiful. The borrowed one kinda reminds me of the Edwardian era dresses in a way.

They asked the bride, and the mother had to interrupt her. Why do mothers forced their daughter to wear their dress? It was ugly, low-cut, showed too much breast- flab, made her look fat!. I like the other dress, it made her looked, less weight! I think she wanted the first dress, she went with the borrowed, not to offend her mother.

In India, there are so many wedding ceremonies. And the bride's trousseau is filled with so many clothes - fancy for the ceremonies (wedding and later) and home clothes. Find it funny when these brides have to choose just one!

The first dress was by far the best....the second remade one was more a dinner dress if you ask me ....to make mom happy I'd just marry in the first, and go to reception in the second.
