The original dragon ball was the best one for me cause it showed goku grow not only in strength but literally. His adventures and stories in dragon ball were so cool and awesome. The only time I felt dbz and other series got close to the original db was in the slice of life episodes.

i hate super gt and z so much if its not chi chi and goku hanging out before the cell games or in the hospital or after the heart virus i legit get bored in dbz....seriously..none of it means anything to me unless its stuff they set up in original db like goku and chi chi finally being together...shame we barley get any of that in the canon manga...in the anime they show way more of them being close..and i adored it

Dragon Ball: Gave us the kickstart of what the series would become Dragon Ball Z: Awesome villains, memorable moments, and what most fans saw first Dragon Ball Z Kai: Gave us a quicker version of Z and more close to the original manga series Dragon Ball GT: Greatly hated, but some credit had to be given in creativity. SSJ4 looking really cool and powerful as well as the first time we saw Gogeta especially in SSJ4 since the Fusion Reborn movie as well as their being consequences for the dragon balls being used so much. We also wouldn’t have DB: AF without it. Dragon Ball Super: Brought back the series in modern day with showing us why we loved the series in the first place as well as new forms, villains, opponents, and finally getting Broly to be a canon character. (Personally Broly was my favorite villains along with Cell in the original stuff. And yes I know the old films aren’t cannon.) Along with their suppose to be another DBS film in the works in makes me and probably a lot of other people what could be next

Frankly GT wasn't horrible, but it was just too divergent from the source material. Personally the Baby arc was the height of the series and everything else was forgettable and pretty stupid.

dbz has a lot of characters introduced that people remember and some interesting character changing arcs over time like with videl/mr. satan or vegeta or piccolo and great villains and action but a lot of it feels boring on rewatch...dragonball felt like a more entertaining grounded less kiddy more relateable realistic but still with fantasy elements narrative...its hard to describe but z became a comic book very early on and felt very goofy in a bad way to me while trying to take itself too seriously...theres no irony to anything in dbz despite how insane it all is and while they do more goofy shit like aliens and cellular cyborgs and magic creatures they made the world of db more sterile and realistic which hurt its fun goofy aesthetic in og db where theres animal people walking around with clothes speaking english and everyone is just chill with it and theres dinosaurs and old school villages but also future tech cities and capsules and spacehsips but at the same time then they introduce the other world and kais and all this sterile fantasy crap in a boring way ....lol....the original series always felt like a fun ironic well written adventure with close pals...its just more enjoyable to me because it was rich in irony and good character dynamics/interactions...i remember oolong's character way more than raditz or dodoria or dabura for example...and oolong barely matters after the first arc of db but hes memorable in that 1 arc...a lot of dbz is just corny or flat out filled with too many gruff cliche plain evil villains with no personality...omg nappa for instance..hes so bland...cell was so meh...same for vegeta early on...until namek he was such a boring character for me that i never would of expected his hype and arc to matter to me when he left earth..i felt good riddance....never come back into the show...i liked yamcha's gimick and monster carrot a 1 time villain...and pilaf..and most of the red ribbon army grunts and piccolo...and tenshinhan as villains...they were more memorable hell devilman was a good character..and bacterian

In my youth I thought Dragonball Z was the best out of all of them (at the time I watched Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT). Now that I am in my 30's and having also watched Dragonball Super, I give the original Dragonball series the edge. Not only was the soundtrack and story telling amazing, it had so many unique characters and artwork that led to the modern manga and anime we have now.

See y’all just naming shit without going into full on detail. Now I’ll admit the animation was pretty trash during the first Saga (which is pointless because the animation seemed just fine in the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F movies they’re based on), but that’s literally the only complaint I can give. It was kinda ridiculous how Zamasu got mad petty after he realized Goku was stronger than he thought but how are him and Golden Frieza “bad” villains? I was hyped when Frieza returned. The power ups were dope too! Not to mention the main aspect, the fight scenes were AMAZING! And Vegeta was always shafted.

Well super doesn’t really introduce new transformations as much as it introduces a new concept. So far we have seen god ki on top of old transformations to amp them up, so in a way they aren’t new.

Still, I would like to change the names of the transformations. Saiyan with god ki is “super saiyan god,” and super saiyan with god ki is “super saiyan god super saiyan” or “super saiyan blue.” Instead I like to call base with god ki “saiyan god,” and super saiyan with god ki “super saiyan god.” In my opinion this is a better way to say it.

@@youthfulgreenbeast3851 super saiyan blue is a little more simplified but I wouldn't mind newer transformations in time because that's what dragon ball is about pushing your limits and unlocking your ultimate potential. Tbh if goku and vegeta end up fighting against the gods and the angels at one point that's what I'd like to see just that saiyans cap is limitless if they train hard enough. Push them into different time lines and different dimensions over time too the shows concept literally has the potential to be an infinantly long show. Though all things come to an end and I think dragon ball should end on a good note as long as they can continue it without butchering the show I say go for it.

The Series that moves you... makes you laugh and cry and say wow more than once. The one where you can recognize the theme song just he a few notes... the series that makes you want to watch the next show right away. The epic villain and amazing story plot build up to the climax and cute filler episodes.... the best dbz series needs all this. That's why I think the dbz kai remake is so epic. But original dbz was great too with the saiyan saga. But super was epic as well. I just love everything trunks. Super series with the future trunks saga was hard to beat.

Z to me because a lot of animes try to be like it. It set the bar high for the mainstream success anime has now. I love Dragon Ball as well goku as a kid was really mythical goku will forever go down as a legend and one of the greatest characters ever created. People who don't even watch anime know who he is, Akria-Sama is a masterpiece and inspiration he's the reason why one piece even exists his ideas gave birth to a lot of them. #iloveDBperiod

Honestly I think the original dragon ball was the best the series has ever been with its martial arts and tactical fights.

Honestly the buu saga has some of the best parts of the series, gokus final spirit bomb and fight with vegeta, gotenks and his fight with buu, vegito, a very intriguing villan with a great story. Throw that in and it heavily outweighs what people dislike about it.

I don't know about Z being the highest I really do feel like OG dragonball really hit on character arcs better ( with the exception of Vegeta of course). While this is of course my opinion I do concede that Z had higher highs than OG dragonball with the culmination of the freiza saga and the first SS. But I feel like mid to late OG dragonball really fleshed itself out more than Z.

@me no how 2 daw Because Super was hyped up and it wasn't even that good, the black arc had a good start but had a lot of inconsistent power levels and a trash ending and The T.O.P. was the only good arc and it still had some very inconsistent with a good margin of the fights, the three arcs before it aren't that good two of them being complete trash so yes, Super is overrated.

@@kokutensai DBS was way better than DBGT in my opinion, but I think DBGT is underrated. Goku Black arc, Tournament of Power, Broly movie, and Moro arc are already better than everything in DBGT. The u6 tournament was also better than every DBGT arc except for the Baby arc.

I'm surprise you didn't talk about the DBZ soundtrack, that one of the reason why i like the Dragon Ball Z over Kai more.

I think if Dragon Ball OG was given a bigger release in the west like DBZ, it would be remembered on the same level instead of being incredibly underrated. GT is underrated and Kai is basically diet DBZ. 🤷‍♂️

Dragon ball z is the best to be honest I think that the buu sagas animation was better than dbs (except dbs broly)

Few series start off as well as the buu saga from the last chapters dbz. That start of that saga till buu kept changing.... those are as good as anime will ever get especially for dbz fans. It was epic. I just with grand kai fought and they really finished the tournament but they did. It was epic.

This analyses pretty good i think... DBZ is the best among the whole franchise coz its came up with a very good storyline,great rivalry,humour and most of all amazing transformation of heros and Villains...& fillers are damn enjoyable. Overall grew up withness of such amazing anime is the best memory of childhood which is full of nostalgia.. ( i love bruce falconer funimation dbz even more). DBS & DB are 19/20 but overall DBS somehow better than DB. DB is good but it missed something and its consistent attraction. Sometimes after watching Db somewhere its feel like something is missing where dbs fightings are explosives but also it seems like this fights are missing expression intensity which are not as good as dbz but still it manages its rhythm & this why i think dbs is better than db. Dbz kai is no where near dbz and seriously old is gold and so dbz but not dbz kai...and dbgt is kinda sucks.

The Dragon Ball Manga is actually 2 parts: The OG and Z, so technically, they are considered one entity. and therefore: Dragon Ball (And Z) GT Super

Super proved that Dragon Ball was still popular even with all the great competition that came after Z/ Kai and it deserves to have a new series after Super along with new anime and manga for the other 11 universes.

True and Kai was controversial for watered down music increased pacing and removal of iconic lines, I think dbs is wayyy over hated it's definitely good and almost always entertaining but Z was too good.

I loved GT, I really liked it, but the people that hated it was just the DBZ and DBS fans, I think GT gave a great vibe of martial arts, techniques, etc. They also gave me the alien/mystical vibe which I really liked, I also loved the character designs. Though one thing, I don't really like Vegeta's new hair and his Mustache. Though otherwise, it's great.

Only thing I like bout GT is the character designs of Super Sayian 4

Personally, I don't think the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue transformations were unnecessary. It kind of brings our heroes' power to the level with the new, powerful antagonists (Beerus, Hit, Zamasu/Goku Black, Jiren, etc.). Imagine trying to justify Super Saiyan 3 being as powerful as a literal god

Dragon Ball Z Kai has no filler and that's what people that like it love about it. You can judge filler all you want but at the end of the day people remember the key story more than any filler episode.
