Skin color has no correlation with personality at all. And I guess skin color is just a preference but I never was attracted or unattracted to someone solely based on skin color. As a light skinned black woman, I like ALL shades of men. I've been with ALL shades from light skinned with light eyes down to dark chocolate. Honestly, their personalities vary and my experience has been different. Light skinned men act no different than chocolate men. The chocolate men I've dated were far more into themselves than the light skinned dudes I've been with. My first love was the same shade as me, and didn't care about his appearance. My last boyfriend was chocolate and was in the mirror and bathroom more than me. He was also overly confident himself and extremely arrogant in regards to his looks. As far as preference goes, I like alpha males, period. Rather your light skinned or dark skinned, I like my man to have an edge and some bravado. I can't relate to these women, and maybe it has to do with the type of HBCU I attended. #GramFam! The guys there preferred brown to dark skinned girls because they felt light skinned girls were full of themselves or stuck up. My homeboys told me that when they first met me they thought I was going to be stuck up, but I ended up being real chill and laid back like them. Colorism is REAL! Marnaa Puok well duh white culture is different than Balck culture but stop looking at this in only and American perspective. If we’re talking about Black people let’s talk about all of them. Just in between cities in Africa there’s a complete culture difference. There are black people in the South that act COMPLETLY different to black people in the north. It's only because most black men put lighter toned woman on a pedestal, I'm brown skin and I love black woman and always will but if I'm to be honest I just think light skin men should date outside they race, not only do black woman let it be known that they put dark skin men on a pedestal but they also go out they way to disrespect light skin men in the process, and ppl shouldn't have to deal with that but with this situation I would say go wherever u are wanted, if all light skinned men dated outside they race cause odviously black woman don't seem to want them then they would be looking at the men funny and wondering why, and it's just like well they wanted black woman first but y'all disrespect them, I love all complections of black woman but most black woman would never say the same in return
