They could go for a launch coaster with a hyper style layout. Get the speed off a launch, have an out and back series of airtime hills. We know Cedar Fair loves B&M so with the merger I actually can see the next coaster being effectively a B&M hyper with a launch instead of a drop.

This park isn't the prettiest, and it doesn't really break records. However, as a guy born in 99 in a trailer park next to SMF prison, this place was one place my family could afford to go and have fun. We only made it to Disney once when I was a very young boy which ended with my dad getting hit by a snail in the night parade at Disney. Long story. So this park was honestly a place of solace and fun for me during summers. We never could buy food in park though lol, maybe I can go back and try some of the food

That is true but boomerang open on March 27th of 1998. Just 2 months before Kong Opened ,and Kong opened in May of memorial Day of 1998. So technically boomerang is the first coaster to open at Discovery Kingdom but also technically yes, Kong is the oldest roller coaster at Discovery Kingdom because it opened that Opary land USA as hangman in 1995 all the way until 1997.

This is my home park just twenty mins away, I've been going there since I was six and my parents were going there back when it was marine world and had the water skiing shows. Overall it makes me sad to now be older and realize how disliked this park is by so many. However, it has its charm and I think thats true even outside of my nostalgia for it. Altho I hated coasters when I was a kid the coasters like boomerang and roar helped me get into it. I always had an appreciation for the shows as well. I think this park gets ignored because it isn't a premium park, a lot of rides were brought out here rather than first designed here like Superman, and doesn't break records. So it's always nice to see it get a bit of coverage. Thanks for talkin about this park man!

this is also my home park and i concur how underappreciated this park is. discovery kingdom is great for families since they do have animals and animal shows for people not into coasters and great for people getting into coasters. my first ride on joker is what got me interested into coasters.

I've only been to the park once Joker and Superman were closed but it’s way over hated. It has a great atmosphere, unlike some other Six Flags parks.

So happy to have this as my home park! May be a weak lineup, but still a great top 4

Joker is an extremely strong star attraction, Superman is nice, and you can't go wrong with a B&M floorless (unless it's a standup converted into one). Much better than Darien Lake's lineup, which is the closest one to where I live.

This is my home park. I first went here when I was 8 years old in 1998 under Marine World.

Our first visit was great this weekend to six flags discovery kingdom. I can say for certain that with Medusa, you really feel a big difference in ride length vs the other coasters. Strange theme; Medusa was a Greek mythology character, but the area looks like a rainforest jungle.

As someone who just recently went to 6FDK for the first time ever last week, this is a fantasticly timed video!! Super informative & entertaining at the same time, too. The ops were so awful we only got on 5 coasters the entire day (despite having FlashPass, too!!) as 4 of them (Kong, Boomerang, Flash, Cobra) were down closed all day, but my personal ranking of those 5 comes pretty damn close to your "By the Number" rankings, too! My rankings: 1) Joker (A-) 2) Medusa (B+) 3) Superman (B-) 4) Safari Sidewinder (C+) 5) Batman (C-) Great video as always, Airtime!!

Love the average ranking at the end!

I just visited SFDK yesterday and... quite a LOT of the coasters were closed. Flash (train was OFF the track entirely), Boomerang, Kong... At LEAST... Medusa, Superman, and Joker were open and running on all cylinders!

I work at Discovery Kingdom. Flash has been struggling recently. I’d say go in with expectations that flash will be closed.

I’ve only been to Discovery Kingdom once back in 2008, mainly for Thomas Town. The only coasters I rode were RoadRunner Express and Cobra.

Yeah I've only been maybe 2 or three times here since it converted to more of a thrill park then an animal park. Everytime I went there when Flash was opened. The ride was never opened. And every time I've checked online for what rides are opened, surprise. Flash is closed. But Medusa. Yes phenomenal floorless B&M. Intense and smooth like most B&M's. And technically California's Great America is my home park since is its closer to me, but with that still on the chopping block to close, Discovery Kingdom may turn into my home park even though Vallejo is way farther then Santa Clara for me.

Its funny but I've been going to SFDK my whole life and I only just found out about Zonga recently. Somehow I completely missed its' entire life at the park haha

I would ask you to do this for Darien Lake but the video would be so short it wouldn't even be worth it

Not in the worst part of it but definitely in the "keep your eyes open " part

I like how American say 150 feet is strict but Europe has way worse height limitations, I believe Phantasialand in Germany has a height restriction (I might be wrong) but Alton Towers in the UK definitely has a 65.6ft height restriction.

Y'all know I love to shit on this park, and I claim CGA as my home park even though this is 30 minutes closer to me.... But I do have a soft spot for this place. I used to beg my ex husband to take me here, but he hated theme parks and we never went. It was the first one I visited after I got divorced, and I got my SF membership. So it's not all bad. Op's has just been especially disappointing over the last few years. If I could get multiple rides on both Medusa AND Joker in a day, I would be happy. But either one or the other will be closed, and so much else is closed that the lines for the premium rides get obscene.

I went to discovery kingdom a few days ago for the first time. Worst experience, worst park, worst operations I have ever EVER seen. No food open, no drink cups at stands, hours lines on rides with horrible operations ( with the exception of Superman) it was a experience that will sit with me for the rest of my life. Six flags does not deserve the merger if this is the quality of their parks.

Vertical Velocity should be first at 186 feet, because that is how tall it was when it opened.
