    I've watched probably 20 of your videos over the last few days and they're all excellent. Great stuff on the internet from your site too thank you. I'm 46, 5 ft 11, 190 lb haven't BMX in 25 years, looking to get a bike to possibly hit the pump track, mostly right around town and do some minor jumps off stairs or ledges. Nothing too crazy. No skatepark. I looked at red line, haro, mongoose, GT, Etc all the old school stuff. Now I'm looking at the newer stuff and getting overwhelmed. I was looking at something with the 20.75 to 21 TT. If you have any recommendations I would appreciate it. 500 is my budget Thank you

    did you decide on something? I'm 49, 5'9" and 210. Trying to lose weight. But basically just want to ride around the neighborhood and do a few things on stairs and ledges.

    I am looking for a frame to swap to, I am 5 10 but am still growing. I mainly ride dirt but I ride some park too. And I would prefer a frame that is stable but still responsive enough to huck around. I’ve been looking at the tall order 215 but if you know of any other frames within the specs I just listed i would greatly appreciate it if you would tell me. Btw love your videos!

    What I need is a Bike for a mid-level Driver. In best Case Aftermarket Frame. I would Like to use it Like that: 1) street, but just easy tricks Like jumps and grinds 2) Park, to learn tricks and enjoy the Location 3) pumptrack, lots of pumptrack So the Hub must be a Cassette. I am 6 foot, so 20,75-21" TT Chain stay about 13-13,2 I think thats the best to fit all 3 Kinds of usage and to learn. What do you think? Budget is about 750,-

    Hello Doug, hey I just recently discovered your channel and it is so helpful the way how you explain everything, thank you for share your knowledge in this way. I would like to to share that I was looking a bike for my son that has 8 years old and long story short my son is just learning but I was looking for him something durable but not crazy expensive because he doesn’t needed it right now, however thinking in safety things, quality and budget I found a FRAMED Attack Pro that said have full chromoly frame, fork and bars with double wall rims for $300 + shipping. What it is your honest opinion about this bike for beginners…? Thank you and I really appreciate your feedback.

    Hey man, I took a quick look and the price is pretty fair on that bike! However, look here and read the description www.framedbikes.com/products/attack-bmx-bike-21 it’s trimoly so the back end is hi tensile steel. Also the chainstay is HUGE it’s 13.5 which will make it hard for him to maneuver. Hope this helped a little!

  • @Dougsterbob

    @Dougsterbob

    Yeah I really don't know enough about flatland, but it seems like the geometry is sooo different for flatland and anything else since its shorter/lower frame, no reach on the stem, and other things. To be really optimized for flatland the bike is pretty useless for dirt and stuff!

  • @trailwomanrc

    @trailwomanrc

    @@Dougsterbob The biggest diff I see is minimal./zero offset forks and yeah, short stem. The offset really bucks your balance when spun. Maybe a fork with less offset and shorter stem on my Gap xl could be a reasonable compromise. Optimizing is overkill for a middle aged dabbler, but it would nice to be nice to reduce the bikes hindrance to flatland without completely disabling it's "dirtability".

    I am 5'7", bought a bike with a 21" top tube. It was a mistake. It has a 13.25 chainstay. I just cannot manual it at all. I wanna get a new frame that would be easier to manual. I wanna get the killabee k4, it has a short chainstay. Would you recommend it with a 20.4 tp, or 20.7 for my height? Would the 20.7 top tube be good for manuals with a 12.7 chainstay?

  • @faithmissile8416

    I’m 5’7, I’m riding a Wethepeople Paradox frame (20.75) with a short chainstay (12.75). A 20.75 frame is perfect for me to do 360 flat and nose manual, barsspin. Only issue with a short chainstay by having a small size tire on the rear, you more likely will fall off on the back multiple times. I would recommend it you to buy Merritt Option tires, they are really big, thick, and more rubber. The weight of the Merritt option tires will lock on you by doing the manual. If you love manual so much, get the WTP doomsayer, or WTP buck.

    Don't know if you got another frame, but if you haven't you can get a shorter reach on your stem and maybe pull the bars a bit forward. That might make up a bit on the longer tt. If you like to do a lot of bowls and jumps, keep the 21" tt. If you want more technical riding style, then you can go with either a 20.75 or a 20.5 tt and maybe a 12.7 chainstay. Just a suggestion.
