A very useful overview.
Not surprised that the zeiss terra lines are coming from Japan and China, I've owned a few of the zeiss products in the last few years from rifle scopes too binoculars, they've really fallen behind on quality!!
i used to have a zeiss victory 10x25 from 2016, it was made in hungary. it got replaced with a same model from 2020, this later one says "japan" on it.
"Made in Germany" is a very loose term. I have a pair of Docter BCF from 20 years ago marked Germany. I can tell up front the housing is made in Japan. I'd gamble most lens and prisms as well. German law allows a little assembly to be done in Germany and BAM you have a "Genuine" made in Germany item.
Does Zeiss manufacture any optics in Jena now? What do they make in Jena these days? I’m speaking as an ex-planetarium staff person who worked at a facility that had a Zeiss Jena planetarium projector and Zeiss telescopes made in Jena. Thank you!

@@ziomudru Thank you! Optics Trade’s page about Noblex explains their history and its origins from Docter.

@@ziomudru you shouldn't debate topics you have no clue about. ZEISS has 3000 employees in Jena, and has never had anything to do with Noblex.
