    Thank you so much, Julie! I really appreciate that you are taking the time to watch and comment. I really love the aeropilates. I actually have a chair too. It is fun, but if I could only keep one, it would definitely be the aeropilates. If you get one and have questions, please let me know and I will be happy to answer. @@everythingaeropilates I am SO torn with which model to get. I've been doing Pilates for several years, and am just getting back into it and want to do it seriously daily at home. I'm 5'1 and am looking at the 287, 379, 393 and Stamina 5-Cord all on Amazon. Do you have a clear winner?

  • @everythingaeropilates

    @everythingaeropilates

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@amandafayer2808 Because you are 5'1", I highly recommend the 379 or 393. The 287 will not come with a rebounder and does not have pulley risers (meaning you have fewer levels of progression while exercising and will not be able to add a pullup bar later with the 287). The 5 cords are great, but I am 5' and have been loving my 4 cord. I used my Mom's 5 cord the other day and I didn't get as much range of motion. The 5 cord has a larger platform and, because of that, it will feel like you are barely squatting when you do your warmup footwork. Anyway, that is my recommendation. If you just fall in love with one of the 5 cords, I have a hack on this channel for short gals, but even with the hack, the 4 cord machines (379 or 393) give you a more complete and natural range of motion. To be clear though, any of the machines will be amazing. Each one has the ability to help your flexibility and give you a wonderful workout! I am so excited for you!! Let me know if you have any questions when you get your AeroPilates home. :)

    @@everythingaeropilates I ended going with the 5 cord 535 and I love it! Thank you for breaking things down and you've explained everything so well. Crispy clear! I'll be graduating from pilates teacher training next week but I have nowhere to work due to covid situation. Since I'm not sure how long this pandemic is going to last, I've decided to look for cheaper reformer that way I won't lose my momentum of teaching on a reformer and I won't have to start from the scratch when I apply for a job as an instructor. My only concern was the foot bar that seems quite wobbly. Does that bug you at all? Anyways, thank you so much again for such an awesome video!

    How exciting to be an official Pilates trainer-congratulations! I would definitely recommend this machine during this time (and anytime!). It is a great home Reformer. I have moved my around countless time to get it into the "right" spot and this is easy to move upstairs or down (with help). I also take one to train my friends. So many people need a reformer to get them back into physical balance, so I load one in my car and take it around to help others. It is a great option! As for the toe bar, you can screw it in, BUT it truly is sturdy enough without doing so. I have done planks, facing both ways, off of it, and many other exercises, with no problems or concerns.

    I am so excited that you are looking into getting an AeroPilates for your home! An that is a great question! The good thing is that almost every part is replaceable, but the parts cost, so you want to check for a few things. Make sure they have both the toe bar & the rebounder. The shoulder pads should be in place (I often see used reformers without). Check for end caps as well. Those are the most common missing items because they are removable. Other than that, you can check the condition of the cords, although, if the price is right, the cords can be replaced. Actually, if the price is right, anything can be replaced. Those are the major parts to be aware of. A used AeroPilates is a great way to go! I hope you find one that you love!! :)

    I am so sorry that I am just now seeing this. I think that you are talking about the straps? The straps have the clips. Is that correct? If so, let me find my clip system machine and get back to you. I am sorry that it has been so long already. I think that you just feed the clip through the eyelet near the shoulder (of the carriage/bed) and then feed it through the two or three at the bottom of the carriage (near your hips) as well. This will be easiest if the machine is folded, but if not, just look under the carriage to get it back. Once you have fed it through those spots, wrap it on the outside of the bottom/hip loops...then back inside those loops and clip it on the middle or bottom eyelet/loop. That is from memory, but if that doesn't work, I will let you know asap.

    Which aeropilates model has the white frame with four black cords? How does this compare? Thank you kindly!

  • @everythingaeropilates

    @everythingaeropilates

    3 жыл бұрын

    Factory-made, there is not an AeroPilates that has 4 cords and a white frame, but after thinking about it, I think you are talking about the Pilates Performer 300. That model has an off-white frame and a burgundy/maroon base. Is that the one you are mentioning? If not, let me know & I can explain differently. If it is the model I am thinking about, here are the differences. It is actually a really great model. This is one of the original models and has some great features. For one, it has really great padding. The newer models (while wonderful) have cut costs by using less padding on the platform. It also has a very sturdy base with more quality finishes. The cons of this type of quality are that it is much heavier than the newer models. But it will last and last. There are a few things that you may want to consider. One is that that model does not have pulley risers, so you will not be able to use a pullup bar on your machine. This model does not come with a rebounder, so one will have to be purchased later. The straps are older and have a bit more friction, they are not quite as nice, BUT, they can be used as-is or updated and new straps can be added instead. Another thought is that the wheels used under the carriage are an older type of plastic/rubber and may need to be replaced. I have had the wheels from this machine crack and need to be changed out. It's an easy enough fix, but a bit of a pain. Last thought, the cords may need to be tightened. If you are considering that model, please give it a good check over and they pay low enough that you can handle some of the upgrades if you desire. That model can last forever but will work better with those couple upgrades. The bottom line though, any AeroPilates machine is better than none, so I really hope you do consider getting one. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hello! I am in Canada and looking to buy from Costco. They have the aeropilates precision 610. They also have 3 different the merrithew/stott machines. I have been to a club Pilates studio that uses balanced body machine. I don’t know how to even begin comparing and choosing the right machine. I have never used a Cadillac before but see that the 610 can add the Cadillac but the Stott Spx home units cannot add this. I have used the spring board at the studio so wondering if the Cadillac kind of replaces the use for the wall spring board? Why is the cost of the aeropilates machines so much less than the stott brand? Are you getting a lesser product? I don’t mind spending good money if it means I can do more with it and it will last me a lifetime? I see the stott machine has a Matt converter which I have no idea what this is used for? I also see the stott has two different kinds on jump boards, why would I choose one over the other? ( I am 5’5” and 105 pounds) Sorry for all the questions but I hope you can help :). Any where else I can turn to have these questions answered? Thank you for your time!

  • @everythingaeropilates

    @everythingaeropilates

    2 жыл бұрын

    You have some really great questions! **The first thing that people usually consider when choosing between machines is the price point. The AeroPilates 610 is more affordable and that is why many choose it. The 610 is similar to studio models with a few exceptions. The 610 is a bit narrower of a machine, it is slightly higher off the ground (giving more room in the "well") and is a combination of wood and steel construction parts. The Stott pilates machines are the opposite, a bit wider, a little lower to the ground (depending on the model, the SPX non-elevated is quite a bit lower, but they offer the "elevated" version), and has wood accents, but not construction parts.**If size is a consideration, the AeroPilates has a smaller footprint. The ability to add the Cadillac is a huge bonus for the 610. It does work as the wall springboard and adds a TON of extra exercises to use in one machine. There are free videos for the reformer and springboard attachment on youtube, and paid ones with an 'on demand' from stamina products.com**The Stott Pilates reformer will be closer to the ones you use in the studio. One MAJOR difference is that the 610 does NOT offer an adjustable foot bar. This is one of the main complaints on this machine, but many suggest that it is worth it to have the Cadillac, but it is definitely something to note.**Both machines have a matt converter, although the 610 with Cadillac has a larger piece. The idea behind this design is that you can do your matwork on the reformer itself. This helps you get up off the floor and provides an option if you have limited space because your reformer can become your "mat pilates" class without needing extra floor room.**Jumpboards...both reformer sets come with a toe bar and jump board. The Stott machine probably has 2 because the newer trampoline-style jump board is better for your joints (less impact and jarring). **The AeroPilates is a quality machine but is just slightly less than the stott pilates reformer. The AeroPilates machines have lasted people over 15-20 years, so they are not a cheap knockoff. The creator of the AeroPilates machines made it her goal to make reformers affordable to anyone who wants them. She mass produces them so that most homes throughout the world can benefit from having a reformer. So, they are affordable, quality, with some cost-cutting differences (not as wide, wood and metal, no adjustable toe bar). Other than that, both brands are similar and both will get the job done well. Here are some videos of the reformers to help you consider. AeroPilates:vimeo.com/247837555 AND vimeo.com/247837542 Stott Pilates:kzread.info/dash/bejne/laGcpNx6abbRm5s.html&ab_channel=Costco OR kzread.info/dash/bejne/l5OVrdmtmdrPe8Y.html&ab_channel=Merrithew Any of the machines will be wonderful, they all have excellent reviews overall. Hope this helps!

    @@everythingaeropilates thank you so much for your detailed response! I was on the chat line with aeropilates but your answers are way more helpful. How does it feel to use the vertical 90 degree foot bar? Looks uncomfortable as I have only ever used a bar that is positioned at a slight 45 degree angle. Can inner leg abductor stretches be done on a machine low to the floor? To me it would appear the answer is no and must be done on an elevated machine. I notice in some reviews of 610 that people complain the weight of the springs was to little and another who is an actual teacher said the springs were to heavy for arm work ... complete opposite reviews! I also noticed that many said the ropes frayed very quickly and the shoulder rests where not comfortable. People Also said the shoulder rests being foam chipped away from placing the hand loops over the shoulder blocks as there are no pegs behind to rest them. What do you think about all these comments? I will definitely take a look at the videos you linked. Thank you again!

    @@kerriw232 I am really excited that you are going to get a pilates reformer at home! I wish there was an all-in-one that has all the features. Maybe someday. I have only ever used the 90-degree foot bar and I have always found it comfortable, BUT I don't know what I am missing. I think that for your height, it should work well. I like not having to adjust it or fuss with moving it. I just move to the next exercise. The abductor stretches on the low machine may be a bit challenging, but they are possible with some extra effort. It will feel different, but it can be done. My machine (since I moved) is completely on the floor so, I use my pole or rebounder to hold on to while performing that stretch. It is awkward. You could always look for the elevation kit in the future. I think the strength of the AeroPilates springs is relative to your needs and strength. Someone may find them too light, but pilates is about working stabilizers more than building bulk muscle. If someone finds them too strong, I would think that is rare. There are strengths of the springs, so you can just move to the light spring if desired. I do place my handles on the shoulder pads and have for years. My pads have not chipped away, but I can see how it would be possible. I saw a "hack" about putting those "stick-on" hooks on the back of the carriage and hanging the handles there so they do not have to be on the shoulder pads. I want to try that soon. It seems like it would work well. You have a lot of great questions. I really hope that you love the machine you decide on! :)

    What is the point of the elevated reformers and the adjustable risers?

  • @everythingaeropilates

    @everythingaeropilates

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello, This is a great question. The elevated reformers are great for people that have a hard time getting up and down from the ground. There are also a few exercises that can be done with the elevation that can't be done on the floor. The elevated stand is recommended if you are able to leave your machine out full-time. The adjustable risers give you more variance in your workouts. You can put the hooks at the top and the workout will be slightly easier because the angle of the straps is greater. The top riser is good for beginners or anyone that is working on their flexibility. If you do not have the risers, you still have a great machine. You will just have the most resistance and stretch from the beginning instead of working your way up to it. Are you looking to get an AeroPialtes? I highly recommend them! Please let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    Thanks for all the great info. Around the 9 minute mark you explain that if you’re shorter that the 3 or 4 cord models might be better for range of motion since the platform is shorter. I’m 5’2” and I’d like a 4 cord reformer but it seems like the 5 cords I’m coming across online are actually cheaper (even if I have to buy the stand). A lot of this is probably because everything is selling out. Should I hold out for a cheaper 4 cord to come back in stock or will I not see much of a difference with a longer platform? The 5104 model is the 5 cord I’m looking at. Thanks for your help!

    Hello Laura! I am so excited that you are purchasing an AeroPilates machine! I know your body will thank you. The 5 cord is a really good deal overall. I have a hack on this channel for shorter gals like us that can be done on the 5 cord model. It helps us get a better range of motion and really makes a difference. Because of the hack, a 4 or 5 cord model will work wonderfully for you, so just find the best price you can and go for it! The 5104 model is just beautiful. I know you will love it!

    @@everythingaeropilates Thanks so much...you’ve helped me decide to go for it and buy the reformer! I have taken quite a few group reformer classes in a studio but stopped a couple of years ago because they are costly. How do the aeropilates reformers compare to studio reformers? I know there is a difference and I am not expecting them to be of the same quality. But was just wondering (if you know the answer ) when doing the exercises if there is a huge noticeable difference.

    @@maryk3036 I have not used a studio reformer, but I do research and there are some things that people have found different. I can share what I have read. The toe bar does not adjust...for us shorter gals, that may seem like a problem, but I have a hack on the channel that addresses this. The rails fold for storage and when doing strong rebounding, the wheels will go over this fold and you may feel a slight bump. I hardly notice this, but this may be bothersome. The cords provide slightly different resistance than the springs. I have read both sides...some prefer the cords because they seem to give better resistance, but others prefer the springs. The AeroPilates is smaller in size, with the 5000, you will have a version of their "premium" type of foldable model and I think it will be really comfortable for you, but some have complained that the AeroPilates is too narrow. As you mentioned, you realize it will not be a full studio experience, but honestly, I think they are really amazing. I hope this helps. :)

    You are right, there are so many to choose from! It is confusing. To be honest, any model is wonderful. As a fellow short gal, I really love my 4 cord reformer the best. It gives me the best range of motion and is a noticeable difference. There are models on Amazon and HSN that have the best pricing. However, if I had an unlimited budget...I would definitely buy the Precision Series 608. I have read the reviews and it glides more smoothly, the springs give a more balanced resistance, it is high-end looking, and it has an adjustable toe-bar for short gals. But, do note that it does NOT fold up for storage, but rolls away and is stored stood up on its end (which I like better as well) It's best price is on Amazon. amzn.to/3PKr9nW #ad Do know, that whichever you decide, you will be getting a wonderful model. Please let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    I apologize for the late response! I lost most of my weight doing a normal workout only. Once, I seemed to hit a stopping point, I started rebounding (I was not excited to start that and put it off as long as I could). I think that rebounding would help the weight come off sooner, but know that you can definitely lose with just a standard workout (and I did the very beginner workout...about 15 mins for months and months and still lost). I hope you are loving your AeroPilates. :)

    Hello, I am so excited that you are looking to buy one if these machines! For a 5 Cord purple reformer, I would honestly buy a "return/refurbished" unit off of eBay. There is a seller that I have purchased 5 AeroPilates units from in this way (for family members) and have put every one of them together. They were like new and are guaranteed. It will save you half the price! Here's the link....www.ebay.com/itm/132723875048 You could also try to look locally on Facebook or Craigslist (or other local sale apps). Buying like that could help with savings, but if you buy locally, make sure everything is included that is supposed to be (DVDs, toe bar, rebounder, etc.). You will love this machine! Let me know what you think or if you have any other questions once you get yours. 😊

    @@everythingaeropilates I have actually been looking at the one on ebay for a while. But I have never purchased from Ebay and it says the seller is away. They have been away for a few weeks. Im not sure what that means, should I still purchase it? Will it still ship to me? Or should I wait till they come back? I am assuming they a reputable seller if you have purchased 5 machines so that make me feel good. Another option for me was the 4 cord purple one I found on Amazon. But I am worried about being disappointed with having one less spring (I am used to a 5 spring studio reformer). But It is also important for me to have a machine that folds up easily and can be moved to a different room after each workout. Did you find the 4 cord to be any easier to fold up an move than the bigger five cord purple machine? I have hardwood floors so would like something that can roll easily and not scratch the floors. I'm so sorry for so many questions, Its just so hard to find a real person to talk to about these machines.

I have communicated with the seller and they got slammed with orders and put that vacation alert up to have breathing room, but they are still shipping. I would buy it now. Anyone know the difference if any between the 55-4700 & 55-4700A?

  • @everythingaeropilates

    @everythingaeropilates

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, there are a few differences. The Premier 700 (55-4700) is the older model. It has the clips under the carriage that you use for adjustment. The most padded and comfortable cushion is on that model. The straps/ropes are not as finely braided, so they are not quite as smooth. And the "Aeropilates" logo is written in fancy/cursive writing. The head pillow that came with that model is the older, and better quality pillow, that was firm but supportive. That model was really great because of the cushion. To date, I have not felt a cushion as plush as that one. Now, the Premier 700A is their newer/upgraded version of the original model. It has the newest (and best in my opinion) bracket adjustment system and the newer rope straps that are smoother than before. The padding is much less plush and the logo is typed on, no more cursive. The head pillow is a bit less quality but is still supportive. Both come with the stand and the colors are the same. I think that is all. There are bonuses with both. Are you looking to get one?

    @@everythingaeropilates Thank you so much for responding. I've been thinking about the 55-4700 as it is the only one I can find locally and wanted to purchase that way in order to return/exchange if there were any issue. Sounds like it would be ok for me although I wonder about the clip method and if the 55-4700A model is easier or worth trying to find. I recently had surgery and recovering slowly and need to build myself back up. Also have issues with arthritis in my back and fibro so I thought this would be a good low impact way to get going. Of course if I could lose pant sizes/weight that would be a huge bonus as well. Thanks so much! Have been enjoying your videos.

    @@kmrkid82 I think the AeroPIlates will be wonderful for you! I am so excited to know that this machine got on your radar. It has helped so many people with your same ailments. And I truly believe you will lose pants sizes. It goes very fast at first. You will be in love! As for the clip system, I think once you get it adjusted, which is relatively easy, you won't have to think about it. For most heights, you can start off by placing the handles on the shoulder pads, and then you can adjust the rest on the velcro straps. If I was getting on today, I would look for the 700 because the padding is a world of difference. If the clip system would ever be a problem, I have a hack for that, so let me know. Anyway, I am so happy for you!! :)
