@@miguefhu Unfortunately, yes, that is true. And don't even get me started on that horrible earthquake we suffered on day 1 of November of 1755. That catastrophe alone nearly threw the whole capital of the Empire into complete disarray. If it weren't for the Marquis of Pombal, we would've never recovered as quickly as we did. That is what the earthquake that recently struck Turkey and Syria reminded me of.

12:33 the log going up north is a very famous story of a fleet that tried to find a route that didnt use portigal trading routes for more profits, but got stuck in the ice and used their fleet to build shelter and hunted ice bears. These men even played "colf" which is golfing and was named after the back end of a musket which is a kolf or colf in old dutch, Either the captain or the main ship was named Zembla and he has done this 3 times, but got blocked by ice everytime and had to return before he got stuck, only the last time he decied to push on and got stuck with the crew. He died on the way back to the mainland when the ice melted, but most of his crew made it out alive.
