There’s a female you can recruit on neon. Can be found at the bar you do the side quest for the gangs of neon.

Autumn Macmillan from the freestar rangers can be recruited at red mile after their quest line

I've had Vasco do that with me (insert "You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record)"). Also, I've heard of ladies batting their eyes at you, but Sarah was batting around 300 rpm. Guess that is what I get for marrying the Boss.

If you don't get Mathis kicked out from the Crimson Fleet (By simply saying he was helpful when Delgado asks towards the end) and finish the Faction quests on Crimson Fleet side you can find and recruit him where Delgado is.

@@Nickaroo93 I got her. I did all the things that she would have agreed with, so we left on excellent terms at the end of the storyline. Afterwards, when doing the side missions directly related to the UC story- the one that sends you to the facility on Mars, to talk with the other principle character that was involved- they're the one gave me the quest to recruit her.

Y’all gotta go get Betty. They can be found in their disabled ship, the Lucky Lu, in orbit over the planet Heinlein I. Betty is level three in the skill demolitions and level one in missile wepon systems. She has level THREE demolitions. Lol. Just give her a Grenade launcher. I gave her a “shattering advanced negotiator” that fire 40mm xpl rounds. Anti personnel (damage against humans), lacerate (bleed), and shattering (armor breaking). It’s hilarious.

Just wanted to add some clarification since I didn't mention it in this video. All the companions mentioned above can be recruited, sent to a settlement/ship, and can follow you around. They cannot be romances and do not offer a quest or affinity. They are simply a different walking companion. I honestly can't wait for mods that allow you to recruit anyone from the missions. Would love to see some crimson raiders as companions in the future.

In the Heinlein system you will get a distress call from a stranded starship. You will be able to recruit a bounty hunter by the name of Betty Howser, voiced by Adrienne Barbeau, after saving her. She specializes in demolitions so have her equip a grenade and a grenade launcher weapon with one ammo and turn her loose. I found her voice lines quite unique as well.

Amelia Earhart is available through the Starseed quest line. So many named characters to discover!

There is a set of missions on Charbydis 3 that leads to a secret character you can pick up (don't want to add any more details cause spoilers). Questline is Operation Starseed

Giving Moara a novablast is kinda like giving a batting machine mortar rounds.. one of the random photographer encounters, one of the survivalists and twice at civilian outposts with ships/ship repairs I've found recruitable crew.

thats awesome, didn't know you could find crew on random planets like that. how does finding them through the photographer/survivalist encounters work? I've ran into each encounter a handful of times on multiple saves, is it the photographer/survivalist that ends up being recruitable or do they somehow lead you to someone?

There is a female character in the bar on the key, if you join the crimson fleet, and she can join for either 27k or 18 if you persuade her. She mostly offers stealth and stealing related skills.

I cant remember his name but theres a dude you can easily miss the ability to recruit him after the "entangled" quest line. You have to find a way to save everyone and hell then go to the viewport afterwards you may recruit him

You don’t have to save everyone you just have to save Rafael himself. He’s the best crew member for outposts in the game.

OK real quick the adoring fan isn’t a random companion that you can come across. In fact, you can only get him if you choose him as a trait before you start your game.

I think that goes for almost every casualty in the game with the exception of maybe the crucible. Haven't figured out if there's a way to entirely avoid bloodshed there yet.

The rafael aguerro one can be saved and brought to see his old comrades again. You can bring him back in time to the present. It's a little bit trickier, tho, but there are guides

I gave up recruiting npcs when one of the ones I paid for dissappeared from my crew. Didn't know there were ones that acted like followers becauseof that.

Just a PSA a lot of the skills listed for companions don’t function in game. Especially Outpost Engineering ETC.

There is a way to do both sides of the Rafael quest quest. Technically 3 ways to end it. No spoilers though. Appreciate the info here though.

You can Actually save Rafael & All the other people in the facility by basically combining the 2 realities into 1

@Nickaroo93 When you are flipping the switches at the end of the mission there's a certain way to do it by going between both realities and switching both sides switches which then result in you blacking out & then waking up in the not destroyed reality with Rafael standing right beside your bed. There is a video for how to do it exactly

@@Nickaroo93 The hint for that is on Raphael's Body in the reality where he dies. Spoiler: It's the correct Shutdown sequence but it has to be done in BOTH realities. It has a unique Extra Reward.

I'm looking forward to mods adding new companions. Sofia the mod companion in Skyrim was amazing, really pretty, really funny, and great voice acting.

She will always say No to joining you at the end of the questline, to get her as follower You have to go to your Vanguard Commander at MAST and he will tell you that there are a few options for missions and one of them is to do Jobs for the new Division you created and when you get there Percival will ask you to take Hadrian with you and then you can recruit her as a Follower.

You forgot the smuggler that you can recruit duing the crimson fleet quest line. Shes Irish and calls you Cap'n.

There are specialists in every bar but they are nameless, but work the same from the named ones

That one blk dude at the bar reminds of T'challa I had to pick him up. I like how the characters have back stories and personalities, dope loving the game so far...even with the bugs.

im close to 60 hours in and 90% of my gameplay has been sidequests. i have a decent sized crew, and so far Sophia and Simeon are my favorite crewmates by far

Bar on Kryx has a pirate jessamine griffin who doesn’t care what you do as well as occasionally gives you money. If your into piracy and pickpocket she’s a great companion!

So, all you need is the person on your ship get the ship benefits?

New Atlantis, the Well, if I'm not wrong there is one women you can recruit there in the bar. Forget what's her name already

It is supposed to, there are posts saying they dont work, some saying they do. I have found the perks that benefit the ship perks definitely work, but I have also read you need at least one skill point in the particular companion skill in order to get the bonus. Take that with what you will

Is there a companion for the Ryujin faction? Seems like all the other joinable factions have one or more companions.

I wouldn't be surprised if they got the damage resistances but I cannot confirm they are anything but cosmetic

But question is are these stackable to the stats you have! And are all people contributing passively or are the stats only added when they’re walking with you

This is what I am not sure about. I have read that you have to have at least one point in the skill for it to work. I wish there was a way you can check in your status what bonuses you have applied. Fallout/Skyrim did this

There are 2 at the Paradiso beach resort too. Then you have the one on the colonization ship that you randomly stumble onto in orbit of Paradiso. I found 4 more in one of the farther right systems at a Crimson Blood Fleet area after following their faction quests a bit. As well the bounty hunter will eventually join you if you set him up so he's hunting you and you stunf him with an em rifle then show deputy badge. This happened to me in the Wolf system but from what I understand he can trigger his hunt at any location so long as you have a 100k bounty with the UC faction. Aside from those there's a child you can recruit who is good at science stuff (she claims to not be a child but looks like a child so who knows). I found here randomly on one of the moons near Akila. She requested I help her clear out a science outpost that had an infestation of Terramorphs (5 of em inside) and to recover some special notes of her research. Hope it helps some xD there's actually quite a few followers in the game it seems (but I think these random ones can actually die or some of them can at least). I had lost one of em that was on my ship when I docked on a spacer ship. She left the hatch with me and randomly died idk what from but she was dead dead. That was one of the Crimson Blood Fleet recruits I had travelling with me.

Simeon is the best marksman companion you can recruit very early.

If they have just a title and not an actual name, then they are not classified as "companions"....you can assign them to your ship or an outpost but that's mainly just for their skills. Only named hirelings act as actual companions.

@@thoraero Damn, sorry my dude....it sounds like they all may be bugged. I had a situation where after a certain person was killed and a memorial was held (I won't say anymore because of spoilers) I was locked into the dead character as a companion and I didn't know it and couldn't get anyone to follow me. I finally got Vascoe to follow me, then I was able to dismiss him and take whoever I wanted.

What about Erick from Mars? You do have to save him.

Out post, or just leave them be until you have room somewhere. After recruiting them, you can move them around via the crew list option.

I lost all my crew like sarah morgan when i joined UC. Is that normal? I cannot find info on it anywhere. Update. I did a few more quest, go to the eye and got Sam back and a few followers a few missions after that. So the only 1 I'm missing is the first lady that got me the mining job. I had her assigned to an outpost so no idea how to find her.

The ones with unique names (like the ones in the video) can follow you in gunfights. Only the ones named "shield specialists" can only be on your ship or outpost.

There is 2 unique pirate companions, one of them is already in the bar, the second one Is that guy that insults you the guy the long hair and the beard if you say it was a team effort on the first official mission with the Pirates at the end of the big battle in space, you will get to have him as a companion for free

Hidden as in the game doesn't direct you to them besides Lin and Helen if you didn't go to a bar or talk to the npc you wouldn't know they can be recruited

I'm curious... I want to play a completely solo build without any crew or companions, and also taking the skill that gives a huge bonus to damage when you have no crew or companions. I haven't gotten into any base building or ship building and wondering if playing completely solo will gimp me later on. Do any of you more experienced in this area have any guidance for me? The crew only give you bonuses to the perks that they have, so they don't offer any necessary help in ship fights (some perks allow them to "heal" certain ship systems when damaged, but not needed) and aren't needed for outposts. You can still use extractors without anyone at your base. Companions offer those same perk bonuses but also can help you in a fight so obv not required. I think it's entirely possible, and almost required if you're going to do a space pirate playtbrough as most companions will Hate that you kill/steal

I've done quite a bit of solo play -I did the entire Crimson Fleet solo in fact. The biggest disadvantage I found was the lack of extra carrying capacity you get by being able to dump a bunch of loot onto them while on a mission. Other than that, it's not really a massive difference in general. There ARE ways to kind of exploit the game with companions though. For example, you can give them a weapon that uses a lot of hard to find ammo like a bridger, or even just uses a lot of ammo like a micro gun, and just a single round, and they will never run out. You can also give them a single grenade and they will use that a lot -just watch out they don't get you killed with their sometimes horrible aim.

Um, Vasco is great for ships.

Can't wait to give them all facial makeover when the mods and CK come out.

Coming from Forza Horizon 5 to this game I pronounce "j" like the Mexicano "h" most of the time. Bad habit jajajajajaja.

@@Nickaroo93 each "bar" has at least 2 names characters and several random. All can be used to follow you around. Quest and traits wise: you missed at least 3 :) Just for next time, a quick Google search would have given you the rest to avoid any mistakes! Good luck with the content !
