Where to live in Kelowna? - West Kelowna (Ep.7)

Thank you for watching the last neighbourhood tour video! You made it. I appreciate you all throughout this journey.
West Kelowna is breathtaking. You hear this and that about the bridge, the bridge has so much traffic. We are growing rapidly here in the Okanagan. Let's face it, traffic will be everywhere. When I first moved to West Kelowna, it was a field. It is growing like crazy and with that there will be less of a need to cross the bridge into Kelowna.

Been watching these from the very first Where to live in Kelowna video, and I was looking forward to this episode. First of all, thanks for making these! Very helpful, and they are shot beautifully. Secondly, wanted to ask if forest fires are more of a particular concern when living in West Kelowna? If so, are there are areas we should be avoiding? Thanks, and I hope you keep making more of these kinds of videos in the future.

Hello Michael, you are welcome and thank you for the kind comment. As for the forest fire's, the closer to the mountains and trees you are, the higher the risk. Unfortunately fires can pop up anywhere. I am no fire expert but I do not believe West Kelowna to be at a higher risk than anywhere else in the Okanagan. Especially because last year that whole side burnt up, so there shouldn't be much left to burn. I wouldn't necessarily avoid any areas due to wild fires, but if you are very concerned then I wouldn't but anywhere that is on the outskirts of town and/or backing onto the forest. If you do buy a home backing onto the forest and there are easy access roads near for the firefighters then your home may still be safe from a nearby fire, they do a great job. Forest fires are super unfortunate and we have to take that bad, with how much good we have here. They are still quite rare close to the city and homes, but as you can see from last year, that can happen.
