I had someone ask about the numbers on the keyless entry card and the numbers on the sticker on the module not matching. They’re from two different vehicles. The card is from the first vehicle I found on the lot that still had an owners portfolio in it, a 2003 Expedition. The module and sticker shown is on a 2006 Expedition.

Thanks for this video. Worked like a charm. Used the sticker on the control module under the glove box. Don't bother swinging the glove box all the way down, you can see it from underneath.

went thru the security module and got the code that way. thanks for the help

Does this work for a 2000 Excursion v10? I saw another vid and it said that it's located behind the ashtray area... but upon extensive checking, I didn't find one? Any advice?

I think Excursion runs keyless entry through the GEM module. I think the GEM is on the back of the interior fuse panel. There should still be a sticker with the factory code.

Usually it’s an issue with just one of the buttons.

Is it possible to call a dealership with the vin of the vehicle to get the security code or the vehicle must have to be taken there physically to retrieve the code.

It’s not possible to get it from the VIN. Ford doesn’t record what keyless code the module that went in the vehicle had. Some times the original selling dealer will record it and save it so you could try that.

I have to enter the code more than once. It eventually unlocks when I am entering the 4th digit on the try hird time I enter it. Any idea why? Am I entering too fast? Is the keypad getting old? It is a 2003 Expedition.

I can’t say I’ve seen that. Usually one of the buttons stops working or you have to press it really hard for it to read it.

I have tried this on 2 different vehicles and the code doesn't work, what do i do in that situation

That’s the code on the module itself. It can’t be change in the module so it has to be correct. It almost has to be an issue with the keypads, and they did have some issues. It’s so many ohms for rash button, they’de get a little moisture in them and it would read the the button as a five, or the button wouldn’t work at all.

My friend just bought a 2003 expiditon & the key fails to open the door and he only has the 1 key no button/panic on chain,no code from dealer is there a way to gain access into the vehicle??

I’m afraid not other than traditional methods for entering a locked vehicle like a slim Jim, coat hanger, lock smith etc. If the ignition key doesn’t fit the door it’s probably had an after market lock cylinder and keys installed at some point. For what ever reason Ford Motor Company only keeps key codes on file for ten model years and then deletes them. There is an after market key code data base lock smiths have access to, so they could probably cut a key from the VIN, but it takes an act of god to get a key code that way. I think the lock smith has to submit a drivers license and several different forms proof of ownership along with a fairly large check to get a key code. That kind of thing happens a lot and we almost always get into vehicles with a slim jim.

I will appreciate if you can help with 1) activate Bambi mode on Ford expedition 2013 model e.g. get the fog lights working with the high/flash beam 2) Program the hyprflashing turn signals when installing LED I connected my vehicle to the FORScan but I can not find any spreadsheet for Ford expedition 2013 to guide me to edit the right values. If it uses a mechanical flasher relay, you can swap it for an electronic one. Those flash at a set rate regardless of the load on it.

Does this apply on a 2003 navigator?

It probably needs a keypad, but I’d check it out first to be sure.

I found the module and code numbers, can’t get it to lock/unlock the doors. I got fat thumbs my guy lol do you have to press the digits to one side or the other? And how do I reset the code? Btw awesome info on how to find the factory code, just bought this 2003 Nav and the chick I bought it from never bothered to set it or even try 😂

You don’t have to press to the side. It’s just a normal momentary contact switch. There’s just on button / switch for two numbers. There’s really just 5 switches with each button or switch representing 2 different possible numbers. If it’s not working it’s usually the keyless entry pad itself but it also could be broken wires in the jamb where they bend every time you open or close the door.

Found mine but still doesn't work.. and i know thats the code because i used it before. But now it domt work

Get up under the dash near the parking brake pedal with your head all the way to the floormat, you should be able to see the five digit code on a white box that’s got some wires plugged into it. That’s where mine was at least on my 02 expedition
