    If you wanna see a modern version of the song I know that Clamavi De Profundis made one thats pretty good, unfortunately it doesn’t have the movie scene accompanying it.

  • @Benjamin1986980

    @Benjamin1986980

    8 ай бұрын

    There's a version titled "Where there's a Whip there's a Way, Redux" where someone tried to make it intimidating. Clamavi also replaced the funky beat with heavy brass to up the seriousness. I also heard that it's been used as a marching cadence in the army on occasion, much to the sergeant's chagrin or amusement, but never seen it myself. It's that last that truly captures the intent of the song, a marching cadence to keep the column in sync. If done right, it could be quite intimidating.

    Very funny. This was great and I think it can be improved further with a small change: You want to create the illusion that the singing comes from the orcs, and not that it is part of the film score. The simplest way to achieve this is by changing the volume and eq. When the orcs are in frame, keep as is. When the soldiers in Helms Deep are in frame, lower the volume, reduce some treble, and add a touch of reverb. That gives the illusion that the singing is coming from the orcs further away. When filming the women in the cave, you lower volume and treble further, and add more reverb, to give the illusion that it’s coming from even further away.

    Small things that would make this even more perfect 1. If every time they cut to the inside with the women and children, the song was muffled. 2. It’s cuts to “so it begins” right as the song starts. 3. If the shot at 2:04 lined up with the singers holding the note at 2:11.

And a certain love for -- it looks like Aragorn has more of a "here we go" grin in this.
