Old whipper there was a really decent commander. He sees two deserters, and instead of punishing them for a crime that usually carries the death penalty, he feeds them and puts them among his own troops with barely even a harsh word. While making sure to keep close by to stop any repeats. Give this orc a promotion.

Giving us things like "Frodo of the Nine Fingers", "Where There's a Whip There's a Way", "Far Over the Misty Mountain Cold", and other such classics. I've always found some of the most interesting parts of the Lord of the Rings is when the orcs get to talk and share some of their thoughts, like when merry and Pippen are overhearing the three different groups of orcs bickering (Urak-hai from Isengard, Black Uruks from mordor and the smaller orcs from the Mines of Moria), when Sam overhears Gorebag and Shagrat, or in gorgoroth when Sam and frodo overhear the large soldier and the tracker.... It makes the orcs more than mindless drones and I think it would have been cool to hear a lot more of that and for them to be "humanized" a bit more... Like when Gorbag refers to frodo being left for dead as a "typical elf trick", it implies they have a morality that looks down upon leaving a wounded comrade

@@globin3477 I think his arguement was that lotr has way too many musical bits to justify doing, even the extended cuts took forever to do.. plus you would have to spend alot more time to get the actors who need to sing to sing whatever songs they need to properly. Idk maybe just me :P

I think he rolled over at the Hobbit movies, and the bullshit those liberals are gonna do to their show. The games were pretty good, lore breaking but still somewhat respectable to the deified strength of the relics in Middle Earth.

I grew up with the Peter Jackson films, which came out just as I was finishing reading the books for the first time. I`m very lucky to be just young enough that I have my own mental imagery for LOTR not provided by Hollywood. I knew there were earlier animated films that were not done very well but were entertaining in a campy 70s way, but I never saw them. Now, I`ve fallen into the KZread rabbit hole. These clips are inspiring me to take a weekend, sit down with some longbottom leaf, if you know what I mean, and give 70s cartoon LOTR a watch.

Still more loyal to it then Jackson with his cutting of book scenes and adding of scenes/padding.

Brother Malachai Some of the stuff from the books needed to be cut for a feature film. I'm glad the entire Tom Bombadil part was excised.
