    I have been infected by the Marlin bug for well closer to thirty years than twenty. I still remember the first demonstration of a dual transfer case setup in a first gen truck. It was in the parking lot of a pizza joint were we would have our 4x4 club meet at in Apple Valley, Ca. I believe it was back in the late 90's. I, to this day, still run an 85 Four Runner. Thanks for sharing, sorry to hear of Marlin's passing.

    Excellent video sharing history and what employees do there. You have the most robust LT kit on the market and shoukd be very proud of the design. I wish you folks did custom one off LT kits for unpopular IFS vehicles. 😢

    Great Video ! I wish you had a front diff that eliminates the complicatedweak ADD on 4Runner/Taco....I just exploded mine ADD Tube/shaft....Putting together a Frankenstein..Housing and shaft from FJ/GX all wheel drive to eliminate all the parts and get a solid shaft. Will see what happens...hopefully stronger ! Find the weak point...and build it stronger !

    really nice video that you put together there. I was a classmate of your father Marlon at Glendale Academy and graduated with him and was so sorry to hear about his passing recently. Keep up the good work hope that I’m out in California. I can swing by the shop and just have it as part of my bucket list to say that I had been there!

    Do you find it better to crawl with a manual vs an automatic? Did you forgo the extra Off Road tech in the TRD Off Road because you were adding in all your crawl components to get super low gear ratio, making the tech unnecessary? I’m debating between a cheaper (larger discount) Sport manual Access Cab and an Off Road auto Access Cab. I’m mainly driving on the street commuting to work in Honolulu. My traffic isn’t too bad. Another option is a DCSB SR5 4x2 and just building it up after saving a bunch of money, though I like the Access Cab look better and don’t have to take lots of people around since it’s only me. How hard would converting a 4x2 to 4x4 be or can I get most places with a built 4x2?

    The trdor comes with the rear locker so if you’re keeping the rear axle it’s worth the extra money. Don’t get a 2wd unless you’re building a pre runner, I’ve heard frame strength etc is different but there also no point unless you’re replacing the transfer case and everything else right away. 🤘🇨🇦

    Wasnt InchWorm the innovator of the toy box adapter?

  • @maikeru1990

    @maikeru1990

    7 ай бұрын

    Negative. The ToyBox adapter was invented by Marlin Crawler back in the mid 1990s for short-wheelbase FJ40 Land Cruiser applications, and in fact was released before the company Inchworm even existed. If you meant to ask about the TacoBox, then also no: Marlin Crawler created the first-ever Tacoma dual transfer case setup in 2001 which attended the Marlin Crawler Round-Up that summer in TTORA president Steve's green 3.4L automatic Tacoma. This was about half a decade before Inchworm would make their own, and the reason is that Inchworm originally never offered 23- or 26-spline products which are required for 1995+ Toyota applications because at that time they were still using modified stock 4cyl Toyota t/case outputs as their couplers which were only strong enough for light weight 4cyl 21-spline applications.
