Dude you can't equal miscues with the Chiefs......fumble for fumble, penalty for penalty, and expect to win. You have to capitalize on every opportunity and make ZERO mistakes. You can't miss an extra point, fumble the ball in the red zone, botch a punt, fail to capitalize on the Mahomes interception, and expect to win. You shouldn't be surprised.

If niners would’ve won would it still be “rigged.” Is it rigged, scripted or do the just attempt to sway the game as much as possible? People just need to accept a loss and realize everyone makes mistakes. Coaches, players and refs. Chiefs have an amazing quarterback and coach. It’s not surprising they won. The bottom line as to why the Chiefs won is their coaches had them prepared for the OT, and 49ers coaches had not properly prepared the players. Reid and his coaches had thought ahead and were ready for what decision they needed to make if the game came down to OT. There is no way I believe Shanahan's story about getting the ball the 3rd time BS. If you win the toss, you give the ball to the Chiefs, the best they can do is go down, score a TD, and go for the 2 point conversion. If they were successful, the 49ers get the ball back and have to match them but at least they are in 4 down territory. How the hell Shanahan thought taking the ball first was his best option is BS, I don't think he or the 49ers were prepared for the game to get to that point. Teams play, players make mistakes, it was a hard fought game on both sides. Both teams deserved to win based on their play in regulation, but the Chiefs were prepared for OT and the 49ers were not, it was obvious.

They made too many errors on all fronts. The blown O line assignment in OT was the biggest one. Brock had no time to throw on a free rush down the middle and cant see Aiyuk if hes not the first option. Aiyuk should be isolated on Jenning side. Aiyuk is a better receiver. The O line messed up earlier in the game on a big 3rd down. Not to mention Brock all year was getting hit hard on throws. Dude has guts but needs protection it is the biggest concern in the offseason.

Guy, the 49ers would have gotten the ball if the Chiefs kicked a FG, regardless of what period they kicked it in. If the period ended and it went to a second, each team will still have possessed the ball once. At that point, assuming a FG, the 49ers get it first (third possession of OT) with sudden death in effect.

  • @stuartwexler8215

If Kyle and the analytics guys felt both teams were more likely to score a FG, then “going for 2” doesn’t matter. They can’t go for 2 if they never score a TD. You either go with all the analytics or none of them, otherwise the analytics are misapplied and don’t add up.

One thing I've not seen anyone saying on any analysis of the game is that the new overtime rule didn't really take effect. Even under the old rules, if the 49ers had kicked the field goal, Chiefs still would have been in the exact same spot, playing 4 down ball, knowing they had to score. The new rule would have only been a change if San Fran had scored a TD. That doesn't mean they made the right call off of the coin toss, as it could have been a bigger deal than it was. But given they didn't score a TD, the new rule wasn't really the cause of anything.

Viva! LOST Vegas!!! Kyle, Kyle, Kyle Not knowing the 'new' overtime rules... Head Coaching error. York basically guaranteed the Head Coaches job for the next millennium and instead of getting drunk before press conferences, maybe the Head coach should have been going over the new overtime rules with the team.... Head Coaching error. The 49ers should have deferred the kick in overtime...Coaching error.. NO.. Head Coaching error. Not utilizing player talent to the best of their abilities. Using Deboo the wrong way. Head Coaching error. Debo is good when you give him the ball. He is not at his best when used as a premiere wide receiver. Not realizing that there was no time for that kind of play to develop because the Chiefs pass rush was good... Head Coaching error. Trying to get your Quarterback injured.?.?. Head Coaching error. Not realizing that it is taking zero seconds for the Chiefs defenders to reach your quarterback and that it is taking your defense much longer to get to the Chiefs quarterback... Head Coaching error. Calling so many plays with nobody in the backfield basically broadcasting to the Chiefs defense that it is a passing play.. it almost feels inexcusable. Head Coaching error. The defense was playing really well until Head Coach yelled at Defensive Coordinator and then the defense folded. Head Coaching error. Admitting in the press conference that you 'stuck to your genius plan' WITH NO IN GAME / DURING GAME ADJUSTMENTS... Head Coaching error. And then telling the Defensive Coordinator to change his plan? Isn't that when the defense lost? Right after Head Coach tried to help? When Head Coach is also the Offensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator issues will go unaddressed. Obviously 'Hind sight is 20/20. But if this happens every season, at what point is this no longer considered 'Hind sight'? Kyle is NFL pedigree. That being said, you don't simply fire him without a better option. Defensive Coordinator played a great game seemingly until Head Coach took over by yelling at him. The football is not round and being shaped the way it is, sometimes the ball doesn't bounce in your team's favor. This is not something that can be controlled, I'd like to focus on things that can be controlled and tweaked. Firing the Defensive Coordinator for playing a very, very good game until Head Coach interfered with his play calling and performance is dishonorable and should not be done for that reason...unless there is a better option. Head Coach playing Offensive Coordinator allows Head Coach too many options and excuses and power to fail and get away with it. Tweaks: kicker needs to make the extra points,.. this is not a new issue. Trenches have needed attention for years and years.. this is not a new issue. Head Coach needs to finally realize and recognize that watching the tape to figure out what happened is too late. "The tape is too late." Head Coach needs to take off the training wheels and hire an Offensive Coordinator. The players will lose confidence in the current situation, and it will show in their performance if the current Head Coaching / Offensive Coordinator issues are left unaddressed. Bottom Line: The players stuck to and followed the Head Coaches system.. and they lost. A Head Coach is the Head of the organization and needs to accept responsibility and accountability for the team if and when they don't succeed and not hide behind excuses or circumstances.

I think Shananhan plays too much in the future. It's all about setting up the big plays. He's comes out of half time calling passing plays trying to see what looks he's gonna get so he can set up a big play. They missed on a few of the big plays. Kyle should have tried to attack underneath and let his players get yards. Also, the o-line just isn't good enough. Neglecting the o-line is finally rearing it's ugly head. I try not to be negative, but Kyle isnt a good enough play caller to win a superbowl and the Niners are cursed. There's always something. Until Andy Reid dies of a heart attack Shanahan will never win a Lombardi.

@daneberhardt8658 I watched all the games sir. U have ur opinion. I have mine. The gb and det games all presented other issues and he prevailed by showing up in crunch time. Purdy DID NOT show up in crunch time. Everyone is going to want to blame Kyle. Yes he deserves some blame but Purdy looked like he couldn't move his feet. He has great feet but was solid in place and didn't look to run at all. I think he is easily quicker than mahomes and mahomes ran off multiple runs. We needed Purdy to do that! He didn't. I think it was because the moment was too much for him and he didn't think about running at all. I saw what I saw. As that game went on and then into ot, he looked different. I'm sorry. I'm a massive purdy supporter. Liked him ever since the dolphin game last season.

@bookswithbenjamin8902 yes and no...I think we, everyone, takes things moment to moment. That's why mahomes was so calm because he'd been there before. I really think if we go to super bowl next year and Purdy is behind center he will look to run. He looked like he was in concrete back there. He's quicker than mahomes. He needed to rip off some runs.

I think he was worse against the ravens tbh but he definitely was up against an insane defense with Spags and Chris Jones and sneed and mcduffie. And then Andy Reid, mahomes, and Kelce. He got tricked by a few mahomes approved blitzes and his coach chose to stop running the ball even though passing was hard with the defense playing man with lockdown corners. He should scramble more and become a real leader because that will give him more confidence. He’s better off than a lot of the others qbs so I wouldn’t worry

@@texasniner7747I mean you can’t expect him to be Mahomes after 1 full season. I don’t know if he’s faster than Mahomes, Mahomes is deceptively fast according to everyone. Running will be harder for them because teams that face y’all are automatically more prepared for runs because your running back is the best player on the team. If shanahan lets him do it it’ll probably only be designed runs with blockers during the postseason. Mahomes rarely runs in the regular season because Reid doesn’t want him to get hurt and that’s exactly why purdy doesn’t run much I imagine

Enough of the nonsense. Kyle didn’t choke, the moment wasn’t too big for Purdy, the defense left it all out on the field, and we still got beat. We played a really good game against a super tough team and got beat. It happens. Couple bad breaks . A muffed punt, a McCaffery fumble are all it takes sometimes.

  • @10Shun

    @10Shun

I feel like we are the only two guys making this point. The game breaks mostly went against the Niners. Yes better preparation could've and would've helped. But it would not erase the muffed punt/TO, the CMC fumble/ the blocked PAT.. the Greenlaw injury, and ohh did I mention Patrick F@ckin Mahomes going beast mode in the last drive of regulation and final drive of OT. People just conveniently forget these facts and do the lazy thing and blame everything on Shanahan/Wilks..

I mean your defense made some mistakes that could be corrected and if they had better discipline they wouldn’t have been dead tired by the end. Bosa has to stop crashing, dude fell for it every time and Mahomes took advantage. He’s great but he just needs to make better decisions and then he’d be as good as Chris Jones maybe

They play different positions so I don't know why the comparison to Chris Jones. They're both absolute top tier at thier positions. Bosa fell for the fake 1 time. It just happened to be a really bad time. The live play even showed Bosa being super disciplined and complimented him on it. The one time he wasn't we got burned but that play could have worked either way. @@Zarab923

I’m sure he does. Dude spends the first part of the game showing the defense different looks just to see what they do so he can figure out if he can get them how he wants them for the play he’s thinking of and he does variations of that play with the ball going somewhere different than his big play just to get the team used to going to a certain person. That guys playing chess and most people think that chiefs just suck the whole game and it’s really like Reid and Mahomes dissecting the defense to figure out the best way and the best times to get them in the end and not give them the chance to get the ball back and score. It’s kinda mental but super interesting. Definitely different from those teams that just call up the same basic plays over and over and expect the players to figure it out

Milk the clock out force Cheifs to use their timeouts and kick the game winning fg with no time left! Mahomes can’t be you if he don’t get the ball! 1:53 left on the clock with 2 timeouts was way too much time for Mahomes!

If you don't run the ball and I mean RUN THE BALL (I'm talking 260lb FB, 250lb QB, 290lb TE) it doesn't matter how much you score. Because if you pass, get a hold, get a sack, throw a pic or an incomplete pass no lead is safe when Mahomey gets 4 tries to get 10 yards. You gotta keep that clown on the bench. Period. No other way. You pull Purdy. You put in Tebow and you fuckinggg run the ball
