This video was great! Microsoft buying Activision sucks butts. It's not good. Stinky poopoo in fact. But that's because I don't think exclusives have their place anymore. They have value, in allowing really intimate working relationships between a console manufacturer, and the studio making games for them. But I think it's been very clearly illustrated at this point that that benefit absolutely doesn't outweigh the downsides of expecting exclusives to exist. I mean, everyone constantly complains that they don't NEED the highest tier, tippy toppest, bestest graphics in all the land, because 'graphics don't matter'. And we all generally agree the unsustainable workload and budgets those diminishing returns require is greatly unhealthy for devs and the industry. So it's kind of frustrating that people then turn around and bristle so hard at the idea that exclusives shouldn't exist, and that we should be willing to give up some of that polish, for the sake of everyone being able to play basically every game wherever they please.
