Where's Jamie Drinking? | American Bar, The Savoy, London

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Jamie Oliver heads to one of the most iconic bars in the UK - if not the world - the American Bar at The Savoy hotel in London. He meets head bartender Erik Lorincz to make two cocktails - the historic Hanky Panky and modern classic the Green Park, a twist on the White Lady. Find the recipes below, try them at home and and let us know where you want to see Jamie drinking next. Created in partnership with Bacardi.
RECIPES
Hanky Panky Cocktail
45ml Bombay Sapphire gin
45ml Martini Rosso
10ml Fernet
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled coupette glass.
Garnish with orange peel
Green Park Cocktail
45ml Bombay Sapphire gin
3 drops of celery bitters
30ml Lemon juice
15ml sugar syrup
egg white
fresh basil
Blend all ingredients with hand blender in the shaker, add ice and shake hard.
Double strain into chilled coupette glass.
Spray gin over the top of the drink.

This video is a perfect example of that it absolutely does not matter where are you from, what did you study. If you are passionate about something, you will success, no matter what. Erik is from my country, Slovakia, and I feel very proud for what he accomplished in such young age. This is such a beautiful thing.

Thisis my absolute favourite bar in the World. Back in the 1980s I was working in the City and my small department of 7 people would often go out for a meal or a drink. Somebody knew about this place and we would frequently end up there (I was a country-boy, so didn't know about such places). I realise that it has been refurbished since then, but I was blown away by the fact that you could find a bar in central London where you could always get a seat, there was somebody playing the piano, and they gave you a free plate of snacks with your drinks. I guess it must have been expensive, but as a single man working in the City in the 1980s, I didn't feel like I'd been robbed. I still remember how much a cocktail was back then, it was £14.50, but with free snacks and a piano, it seemed like great value for what it was. Even visiting the toilets was interesting, with fresh (real) towels and somebody to brush your jacket shoulders down (I didn't have dandruff, but while washing my hands, I still received a free brush down!).

To those people who think bartending is a low class job. Think again. This craft is not just a job, but a passion. Every drop of drink we serve you, is a part of ourselves. Our soul. Being a bartender is not about being flashy, getting a tip, or making people drunk; but its about gaining trust and good reputation from your guests by offering them world class hospitality and exceeding their expectations. One good smile from a guest is already a nice tip. A priceless tip.

Guys this is an awesome video, kudos! I would appreciate a little help though, i want to make a Green Park myself, but recipe is incomplete. Gin, how many milliliters? Not the whole egg white, but how much of it? Half? less than half? Erik mentions Orange liqueur in the beginning of the recipe, but i don't see him adding orange liqueur! How many milliliters of orange liqueur? And finally just before serving it to Jamie, he sprays it with something! What's that? I apologize for all these questions, but i want to get this right!! Thanks in advance!
