There is actually something i find interesting about Peel Hall. Heald Green station is a 5 or so minute walk down the road. its a good place to change between tram and train if you want to avoid manchester airport . Done it myself many times.

I forget the name of your "is there anything at this stop" arbiter, but both your companions seem good company - and I'm still hugely in favour of the sort of nerd facts & interest that Bryn brings.

Ok. Let's get this right. You say there's nothing interesting, but this is where I grew up, and let me tell you... Wythenshawe Park is incredibly interesting, if only for the inhabitants of Wythenshawe, who attend the funfair every Easter and bonfire night. And where I used to wag it from school a lot. Also, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are having a gig the night before my birthday. Baguley actually had a mainline station on the Alty to Stockport line until Beeching, just under the bridge near the tram stop. And across the road used to be one of the first Habitat stores, where Terence Conran used to try and sell hideously expensive tat made out of bamboo to people on the dole. Still, it had a good sandpit, so we enjoyed that. Roundthorn is just round the corner from where Shameless was filmed. Interesting point... Frank Gallagher was based on my dad. Well, actually he wasn't really, but it felt like he was because he was basically just like him. Martinscroft, yeah fuck all happens there except drug deals. Likewise all of Benchill and Crossacres. Oh, except Benchill is where the David Cameron "Hug A Hoodie" headline was made famous. Not sure who was the bigger c*nt to be honest. All the local shops there keep the roller shutter door industry in business, even the funeral directors, which says something for the standards of the local burglars. Wythenshawe Town Centre had the famous Golden Garter, where sad racist comics like Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson used to have what they loosely called "Gigs" back in the 70's and 80's. Until the 00's brought a whole new spelling but the same meaning to "Giggs". There was the lovely vista of Shopping Giant, where you could spend your whole giro in literally 30 minutes. Then we have the centre of the entire community, the DHSS office in Simon House on Wavell Road, where entire generations would contemplate either murder or suicide or maybe filling out a UB1 if they were desperate enough. Then at Shadowmoss we have the much ignored tragedy of the Manchester Airport crash. It's possible to see which house was rebuilt if you look carefully enough. Then, finally, at the airport, you can get a plane to somewhere more appealing, like say, Beirut or Sarajevo or Kabul or Baghdad or Damascus or just like fucking ANYWHERE! Have a nice day.

I would go down to Wythenshawe Park tram stop. About a 10 minute walk from there you actually get to Wythenshawe Park itself. It's a lovely green space with wooded walks, a little city farm, coffee shop and an ice cream van.

Something you could have mentioned for Northern Moor is that it is the location of the shop that became an internet meme - Shrek's Pizza. Sadly, it's no longer there but it used to be on that high street bit. If you walk about 20-30 minutes from Northern Moor you end up at Brooklands on the Altrincham line. Also for Wythenshawe Park, depending on when you arrive there is a lovely greenhouse in the park itself which is frankly underrated - it even has little fish in the water! Interesting you mention the line going under Baguley, putting a rail/tram/metro stop there has been floated for many many years but it's just never happened. Maybe this time?

You didnt mention wythenshawe hospital near roundthorn stop, one of the biggest in the country. Otherwise a very enjoyable video jen! For me personally, from sale water park to the airport and oldham to rochdale are bits of the metrolink I avoid like the plague! Keep up the good work 🙂🚃

Glad you walked through the car park at Sale Water park during the day, It gets very "Interesting " at night apparently the local Canine appreciation society has regular meeting in the evening Dogging I believe its called. The reason the Tram didn't go the quick route at the back of Wythenshawe Hospital is because of New laboratories partial funded by the private sector , In-between Peel Hall & Shadowmoss Tram stops there is a large industrial and Office estate including a office of one of the 🇬🇧 security Agency !!! Can't say anymore. But Daniel Craig Sean Connery and Roger Moore.😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️

Recently, you can now go to the Trafford Centre by tram. That opened like as soon as the first lockdown restrictions were imposed. Other examples include the new Overground station called Barking Riverside. That opened the day before the hottest ever temperature in UK. In both cases, a 'do not travel' warning was up/

Wythenshawe Park tram stop might be worse than Withington because Moor Road is pretty much closer to a park entrance and Wythenshawe Park Tram Stop has no signs for Wythenshawe Park…

Putting a train station at Baguley to interchange with the Metrolink seems to keep being talked about, along with making it a tram-train route to do a Stockport service, etc. I'm sure *something* will happen, but it needs the transport folks to actually talk to each other and make a decision, which is easier said than done. See also: the airport western link, which is another option for Altrincham and mid-Cheshire to get to the airport if they ever get their act together and build it.

So Far the worst Manchester Metrolink line Anti-Social Incidents wise! Glad you trevelled whilst children and youngsters kept busy in school out of streets at Withenshawe area. On weekends and half-terms trams are their favourite playground. In my opinion train, although more expensive, is quicker and safer to travel from Manchester to the Airport.

RIP Manchester to Arpley! Those defending the nation's coffers (probably due to their hatred of transport for the poor) seem to refuse to understand the idea why we might want more than one (or in Liverpool to Manchester's case, two) ways for trains to get to the same place! There used to be loads!
