it's kinda easy and hard but some painter use some specific material or liquid or paint on their painting to tag if it's the real one for example i make a art about a waterfall and i put my name on it but only can been seen through Uv light so maybe mona lisa has some note in the painting like hidden or something like that

@@learyt9665 It would be kind of destructive but they would also have to take chips of paint from each sample... Paint from the 1400s is almost certainly going to have a different chemical composite from paint made in the 1900s.

Interesting fact: When the Mona Lisa was finished, the painting was given to the french imperator, or prince or king i don't remember, but after a war, (i forgot the name) his home/palace is destroyed and the painting - lost. When they realised she was gone they gathered good painters to draw another one similar to the original, and told everybody they found the original which is fake, so that might mean that the man disguised as a worker, might not have stolen the original, but the fake. (Read from internet)

Professionals can take one look at it and know if this and other paintings were made by their original painters.
