Where Is The Protein? | If Eminem Was Vegan Sequel | Lecture | Q & A | Animal Rights

Protein is a compound comprising of various amino acids. Amino acids can be divided into essential and non essential amino acids. Non essential amino acids are the ones our body produces naturally. Essential amino acids are the ones we have to get from food.
There are 9 essential and 2 conditionally essential amino acids :
They are Cystine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Tyrosine and Valine
All of these essential amino acids can be obtained from plants.
For example take a food such as brown rice is low in Lysine. So if you eat only brown rice you will eventually over time develop lysine deficiency. But no one on Earth eats only brown rice. We eat rice, dal and vegetables. We eat a diet comprising of various grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables. By including a variety of plant food we ensure that we get all of the protein we need. This is not a complicated thing to do at all.
If we look at our traditional foods what is sambar rice, it is rice and dal. The dal in the sambar is high in lysine and therefore makes it a complete protein.
Similarly rajma chawal is rice and rajma, which is also a legume.
Poha is flattened rice with peanuts.
Basically all of our traditional foods are a combination of various plant foods in one meal and that will ensure that you get all of the amino acids your body needs.
Beans such as channa and rajma have around 20 gms of protein in them per 100 gms in dry weight
All of your dals like toor dal, masoor dal, urad dal and moong dal have over 25 gms of protein per 100 gms in dry weight.
Soy is really high in protein far higher than any animal product. 100 gms of soy chunks which is dirt cheap has over 50 gms of protein.
For even more serious athletes who take protein powders, plant based proteins powders are also available on the market so you have options for that as well.
A very good documentary to check out is THE GAME CHANGERS. It is a documentary featuring various athletes the world over who have broken world records and perform extraordinary food while eating only plant based food and 0 animal based foods.

There are two reasons why vegans comprise a fraction of one percent of the population: The main reason is due to humans’ failure to care about what they put into their own bodies - as long as it tastes good, who gives a damn about the consequences to one’s own health or the ethical concerns regarding other creatures or the environment? The other reason is due to vegan advocates and animal rights activists being inept in their understanding of morality as well as their abysmal grasp of human physiology. Almost every single vegan activist I know of wrongly believes that we are omnivores, and they are clueless in respect to metaethics and applied ethics. But that is not the most unfortunate thing about the matter. The saddest thing is that there is hardly a single vegan activist even willing to spend an hour or so to learn proper diet and meta-ethics with the World Teacher Himself, Jagadguru Svāmī Vegānanda, despite him freely offering to do so on his social media platforms. 😩

@@amitsinghkapapa730 I truly respect your point but don't you think if according to you being vegan will not impact the world for better, then what's the solution for this. Now don't remind me with those lethargic reasons ki meat to necessity hi hai aise hi chalti duniya, baat yahan par meat khaane ki nhi hai infact veganism meat ya animal product ko khane ke baare mein hai hi nhi balki it's more about a conscious being jisko hum choice rehte hue bhi consume kar lete hain, jo kuch bhi aap ne kaha agar developed nations asliyat mein hi itne developed hain to kya wo apni techs ya biological advancements ko itna improve nhi kar pa rhe ki conscious being ko jitna kam se kam nuksaan ho wo use minimize kar sake ya aise products develop karein jo aisi harmful practices ko khatam kar de atleast minimize to karein. Lekin nhi humein to plate mein meat chahiye bhai ab uske peeche jis janwar ki consiousness ko khatam kar diya gya wo to hum kabhi wapas labhi nhi sakte and this is the utmost reason ki species extinct hoti hain agar natural causes ko hata dein to, warna aap hi mujhe bataiye ki humans ke alawa aisa kon sa animal hai jisne jaan boojhkar apni species ko aage badhane ke liye hadd se zyada kisi species ko mara ho aur wo extinct hi ho gyi ho. Aur aapne colonization ki baat kari I truly respect your point magar that time is far over from now, we have free will now, we can express our opinion just like you, just like me, just like any other human. Magar kuch to alternative hoga kuch to aisa hoga ki log samajh paayein ki sirf meat hi khaana nhi hai. Sirf consciousness ko khatam kar dena option nhi hai. There is more to this human life. The brain we got from mother nature is possibly the smartest among known species right now, why not use it to preserve the consciousness of other beings to build a sustainable life not only for us but for our generations to come. Baaki life to waisi hi meaningless hai magar koi kisi ka gala kaat de to wo crime to hai hi phir bhale hi wo insaan ho ya janwar. Just because we humans don't have equal emotions doesn't mean ki ye to aise hi hota hai aur aise hi hota rhega. Not to hurt anyone sentiments. I hope I made some sense here.

Exactly. You don't have to be well informed or have empirical knowledge to apply logic. But schools don't teach children how to think (just what you think). The status quo these days is to be a sophist because we're conditioned to be this way. People don't even comprehend basic things, like how the food system works. This is alarming considering that we are living in a climate disaster. We are creating more problems instead of solving them.

She was not a meat eater from the beginning, she was just worried what would happen if everything turned to veganism, We are vegetarian, he is promoting the idea of no dairy because of animal abuse, where as in our ancient traditions there was no abuse of cows they are workshipped, instead he should promote the idea of opening goshala or each house having one cow family nad use that milk only not for profit. that is holistic living which our ancestors did and gods set as an example too.

  • @2-BIT_OfficialGameDEV

Cos girl doesnt have brains to respond back 😑, majority of animal feed is inedible by us humans we cant eat the straws of wheat or shells of mustard. We feed animals waste products like mustard shells from oil industry wheat industry oats industry etc. Animals convert the food inedible by us to edible. 2nd majority of countries with cattle do their grazing in open grasslands where farming cannot be done like along mountains in prairies, steppes etc. 3rd greenhouse gas production would be spread out. Farms use tractors and other fuel based vehicles while milking plants all use electricity, power plants are more energy efficient than internal combustion engines. What ppl forget is basic thermodynamics the same amt of work will be required for producing same proteins with same amt of by products , eg instead of a goat/ chicken now to get the same amt of protein powder u have to process ur grains with equal amt of energy thru electricity that the goat/chicken consume and equal amt of byproducts are released by the machines and ur body as well. The thing is theres a reason the cows produce so much methane and if u remove the cows ur body will produce that methane.

We are right now growing food for 10-12 billion humans, but most of the plant food goes to feed animals that get slaughtered for meat. Lions kill out of necessity. They do not have vegan burgers in the jungle. Humans have the choice between eating animals and plants. We should choose what is best for health, environment, ethics Great job, Arvind. Just one correction - plant foods are complete proteins. All 9 essential acids can be found in plants in sufficient quantity. Also, medicines need not be tested on animals right now. We have computer simulations and stem cells. This is 2024, not medieval dark ages . The only reason we test on animals is because economics supercedes ethics. It's free to torture animals whereas it will take money to create computer programs.

I tried being vegan and succeeded for 5 months. However, I felt weak from the 5th month and started becoming non vegan slowly. Just like fitness freaks quantify their food, as a vegan one needs to quantify and take enough nutrient in the plant based food they are taking. Otherwise, they would not meet their required nutrients intake just by eating Idly, Dosa, Chapathi, Upma etc etc. So, it was very hard for me to keep track of these things. In one way or the other everyone is exploiting the animals. So, for now I keep my taste buds aside and eat non vegan diet once in a while only to make sure I get the sufficient nutrients that my body needs.

We humans are the most opportunistic beings ever. We call ourselves humans and put ourselves above other beings but at times we tend to find the similarities between ourselves and animals just to justify our doings. This is the first time I came across Arvind's video and I'm so glad I've found someone who is honest and logical with his answer. I really admire the way Arvind explained how some people tend to focus on the small portion of the problems they don't have a solution to, so that they can ignore the large portion of the problems they do have a solution to. And, well, they do it cause they don't want to see it as a problem in the first place. Another thing that I appreciate about his explanation is that when we are already living in a chaotic, non-ideal non-vegan world, we need not fear how far from ideal, a vegan world would be, especially where there will more kindness and lot less torture and killing. Also, I thank the student for bringing up these valuable questions. I like your profile picture brother. I know it feels really great to receive love and affection from animals. Keep up the good work brother.

If all people are to turn vegan, how can these industries survive. Now you may say that they may shift to others. But that isn't possible sir. People skilled in fishing can't be good in agriculture always. THOUSANDS OF POEPLE WILL LOSE THEIR LIVELIHOOD, GDP WILL FALL. INDIA GETS A HUGE GDP FROM BEEF EXPORTS. NOW LOOK, I AM MYSELF A VEG SUPPORTER. BUT, as an economics student, these points need to be considered
