I had a great dream that the 1.30.6 update came out and it added 100 more planes and alot of unavailable features that would be in a future update

The fact of the delays on update comes because of Alex being a freelance programmer and the fact he probably has a irl job apart from developing (that takes away a lot of time that he could spend on developing mostly solving bugs) Edit: wa1 corrected the freelance part so check the comment

not really, he's been offline on the freelancer website for 7 years, so he clearly stopped freelancing a long long time ago.

my theory is that he could be finishing almost all/most of the near-term plans

I think he just needs some time solving bugs and for some major things. Since he is a solo dev. But the thing is, he should be informing on his YT. IF he is having any problems with big fixing

i have a theory that it would take him 1 millenia to complete the update

They should really add guns for players usage aside from gunships

i know the game name might seem off-topic, but keep in mind that geometry dash 2.2 almost took 7 YEARS for an update.
