Welcome!
This is really cool. I wrote a song in a similar vein - ''Radio Rebel'' - about listening to the radio at night and the nostalgia of it, which has a similar kind of feel to this. I really dig this!

I still read comic books. The writers and editors keep changing the heroes - their backgrounds, their motives, etc. They've also made them darker and grittier. They even tried it on the Number 1 Hero from the books, recognized all over the world: Superman. They tried this in the latter half of the 80s. But all of the changes they made had to be rescinded, because they went too far. Thankfully, he's back to being more recognizable as the HERO I grew up reading about. There are still heroes out there, and not just in the comic books. I'm talking about firefighters, members of the Armed Forces, teachers and nurses who work long hours with only disrespect for their reward, and cops. Yes, police officers. Don't let the actions of a few aholes ruin your image of the cops who are out there everyday, doing what they can to serve and protect.

Thanks for the comment, the idea behind this song started with Saturday Cartoons, and how they are nothing like when I grew up, I also still read comics to this very day, but they do not feel the same as when I was a child, and I sometimes feel that our kids are missing out. I do get we Live in the iPad era.

@@Phantom_Clone Yeah, I miss the old cartoons, too, especially those like Jonny Quest, the Herculoids, Superman (but NOT the Super-Friends), the Three Musketeers, the Arabian Knights, etc., as well as the original Loony Toons. Can you believe what they did to the Loony Toons in the early 80s because they were afraid that kids would try to copy the stuff they saw in those cartoons? The perfect example was "Rabbit Season - Duck Season." Every time Elmer Fudd raised his shotgun to shoot at Daffy Duck, the part where the gun went off was cut, but you still saw the gunsmoke clear away to show that Daffy's beak had been knocked askew by the gunshot. In other examples, punches were cut, characters didn't get slammed by anvils, etc. Ridiculous!!! Sigh! 😞

Title: Where Have All the Heroes Gone [Intro] [Verse 1] Once upon a time, in a child's eager eyes, Comic books and cartoons painted skies, Heroes stood tall, fearless and brave, Fighting the darkness, the world they’d save. [Pre-Chorus] But now I look around, and all I see, A world without the heroes that used to be. Where have all the heroes gone? Where did they go? [Chorus] Where have all the heroes gone? Where did they go? The legends we believed in, We need them more than before. [Verse 2] A child’s dreams of valour, now a distant memory, The pages turning yellow, the screens seem empty. The heroes that I worshipped, where did they flee? The stories now are shadows, of what they used to be. [2 Pre-Chorus Repeats] But now I look around, and all I see, A world without the heroes that used to be. [2 Chorus Repeats] Where have all the heroes gone? Where did they go? The legends we believed in, We need them more than before. [Bridge] In the silence, I hear their call, Echoes of the past, they stood so tall. We need them now, more than ever before, To light the way, to restore. [3 Pre-Chorus Repeats] But now I look around, and all I see, A world without the heroes that used to be. [3 Chorus Repeats] Where have all the heroes gone? Where did they go? The legends we believed in, We need them more than before. Where have all the heroes gone? Where did they go? The legends we believed in, We need them more than before. In the hearts of the children, they still reside, Waiting for a new dawn, to turn the tide. Where have all the heroes gone? We need them now, To stand up, to fight, To take a bow.
Very well done . Like the vocals . Cheers from sydney Australia 🦘 2/6/2024 😊

This really speaks to me. My childhood heroes are constantly rebooted, retconned, deconstructed, or just plain damaged by social activists pretending to be artists. This world needs Heroes. Real Ones.

We still have a hero in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. The one who saves us from sin and death while opening hearts and minds to His perfect love. May He bless all of you with this recognition, as your Lord and Savior in these dark times. Remember that He is always near to the broken hearted and loves you more than can be imagined. In Jesus name I pray, amen
